  • iPhone: scroll view with arbitrary page/"settling" boundaries?

    Hi all, I'm trying to figure out if I can get what I want out of UIScrollView through some trickery or whether I need to roll my own scroll view: I have a series of items in row that I want to scroll through. One item should always be centered in the view, but other items should be visible to either side. In other words, I want normal scrolling and edge bouncing, but I want the deceleration when the user ends a touch to naturally settle at some specified stop point. (Actually now that I think of it, this behavior is similar to coverflow in this respect.) I know UIScrollView doesn't do this out of the box, but does anyone have suggestions for how it might be made to do this, or if anyone's spotted any code that accomplishes something similar (I'm loathe to reimplement all the math for deceleration and edge bounce) Thanks!

    Hi, I have a tableview, when the user selects a row i call a webservice depending on which row is selected. my problem is i can connect to the webservice but i dont get any response from the webservice. I used soap client to test if webservice is working correctly or not. //rootviewcontroller.m - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {.... //call to webservice [self connectToWebService]; } On debugging i found that my code does not go to any of the following methods -(void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveResponse:(NSURLResponse *) response{} -(void) connection:(NSURLConnection *) connection didReceiveData:(NSData *) data {} -(void) connection:(NSURLConnection *) connection didFailWithError:(NSError *) error{} -(void) connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *) connection {} any suggestions where am i going wrong??? thanks

  • NSEntityDescription entityForName returning nil

    Hi, I did some changes to my model (but I don't want migration yet, so I just remove the application, built clean etc.) so my application works in the simulator. However, when I run it on the iPhone, I get the following error: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'executeFetchRequest:error: A fetch request must have an entity.' I set the entity like this: NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Document" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; My managedObjectContext is not nil. But I suspect that it doesn't load the object model correctly or something similar because If I display the entities in the model, the list is empty. How can I make sure the model is loaded? Thanks,

    I've got a map with three bar buttons for different markers to show up in the map. If I click on a bar button, the specific markers are shown in the map, which already works great. Now I would like to show a transparent overlay (popup window) with the description of the markers after I clicked on a bar button with a button to close the overlay again and show the markers (which are set in the background). Add RouteDescriptionView as a subview RouteDescriptionViewController *routeDescriptionView = [[RouteDescriptionViewController alloc] init]; [self.view addSubview:routeDescriptionView.view]; [routeDescriptionView release]; Works great as well, but the problem here is: I can't configure a close button on the subview to close/remove the subview (RouteDescriptionView). 3. Using UIAlertView Would work as expected, but the UIAlert is not really customizable and therefore not suitable for my needs. Any ideas how to achieve this?

  • Youtube video embed in WebView and MoviePlayer control

  • MKAnnotationView for userLocation pin iPhone

    I have an application that uses MKMapView and at some point in the app I need to remove all the current pins in the map using [mapView removeAnnotations:mapView.annotations] And then I want to show again the current user location mapView.showUserLocation = YES But I can only make it reappear as a regular pin, because the userLocation view class its not public so I cant return views of that type.     Hello, I have a UITableView displaying an underlying NSFetchedResultsController. When the fetchedResultsController is updated, - (void)controller:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller didChangeObject:(id)anObject atIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath forChangeType:(NSFetchedResultsChangeType)type newIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)newIndexPath { is called. And the following is executed: case NSFetchedResultsChangeInsert: [tableView insertRowsAtIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObject:shiftedIndexPath] withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationFade]; break; The cellForRowAtIndexPath is only called for the new line (which is logical) The problem is however that all the values displayed in the rows of the table view are shifted down. The first row displays its title. The second rows displays the first row's title. The third row the second row's title etc. If I repeat that, the third row will display the second's row title, the fourth the third row's title etc. I don't understand what can happen, especially because cellForRowAtIndexPath is only called for the new line (which is logical) and not for all these lines. Additionally, if I click on these lines which have the wrong title, it opens the right document (didSelectRowAtIndexPath works correctly with the indexPath) Any clue of what could happen? Thanks!

  • Problem pushing multiple view controllers onto navigation controller stack

    Hi, I am trying to push three view controllers onto the navigation controller. [self.navigationController pushViewController:one animated:YES]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:two animated:YES]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:three animated:YES]; The desired behavior is that view three will show, and when the back button is pressed it will go to view two and then to view one... What actually happens is that view one is visible and pressing back goes to view two and then back again it goes to view one. Which is to say that view one is shown instead of view three. Very strangely, looking at the viewController array of the navigationController after the calls above show the right entries, and looking at the visibleViewController property shows that it has view three in it... even though view one is visible. If i navigate to a sub view from the visible view one (that shows in the place of view three) and press back from that sub view... it goes to view three. It looks like it is showing view one, but knows it is on view three... I am completely confused... any ideas? Jim
