  • Change the install directory for an OSX Package

    It drives me nuts that every time I download a binary to run on OSX that it wants to install in system directories. ~/Applications is a perfectly fine place to install and doesn't require blindly authenticating somebody else's binary. Is there a way to change the install directory for packages? On a few I've been able to open the package and edit the plist to install it elsewhere, but that doesn't work universally. I install from source when I can, but it isn't always an option. Is there a good way to force the installer to use ~/Applications?

  • LocalUser access for WCF hosted in IIS

    I have tried every combination to allow unauthenticated access to WCF as in "LocalUser" accounts, in IIS without success. Here is what I've most recently tried: wsHttpBinding with Message security and mode set to "None". IIS anonymous access enabled, all others disabled, folder level access at default (but granted read access to "Users" which is all users in our domain). I understand I may not have provided enough information to solve the issue, but perhaps somebody can point me in the right direction - is this likely to be a IIS configuration issue or a WCF configuration issue... if WCF, is it likely to be a client level or server level issue? The error I get when attempting to access here is "User is not authenticated". We have ASMX services in the domain which are behaving properly, I am the first developer using WCF here.

    Say I have this url: http://site.example/dir/ In this folder I have these files: test.ascx.cs and test.ascx Just to be clear, I am not a .NET developer. From a security point of view - why can't I access http://site.example/dir/test.ascx.cs and how secure is it to keep those files there? I assume IIS filters out request that query these kind of files, but can someone explain me this? Thank you.

    Hi all, Am a newbie to iphone programming. i have a input box and the user can write his DOB(mm/dd/yyyy) into the box. Before i save the data i like to test for valid input. I am using Regexlite.h and Regexlite.m.i have the regular expression too. i want to compare the regex to the user entered value in text box.But am not knowing how to do it.Please help.   • Calling a method in a view controller from a view

    I have to invoke a method present in a view controller who's reference is available in the view. When I try to call the method like any other method, for some reason, iPhone just ignores the call. Can somebody explain as to why this happens and also how can I go about invoking this method?     I need to draw a shape whose boundaries are parts of parabola (that is quadratic bezier curves) using iText. I have found only method for drawing cubic bezier curves in PdfContentByte class. So how do I draw quadratic bezier curves using iText ? One way would be to use method for cubic bezier curves. Is it possible to draw quadratic bezier curves as a cubic bezier curves (with 2 control points). I gues it is but I cannot make up the formula. If somebody states the formula tu "translate" cubic bezier curves to quadratic that would solve the problem. Any other ways to draw quadratic bezier(parts of parabola) curves in iText (and filled shapes made of them) is also the solution. Thanks

    I was recently fighting some problems trying to compile an open source library on my Mac that depended on another library and got some errors about incompatible library architectures. Can somebody explain the concept behind compiling a C program for a specific architecture? I have seen the -arch compiler flag before and have seen values passed to it such as ppc, i386 and x86_64 which I assume maps to the CPU "language", but my understanding stops there. If one program uses a particular architecture, do all libraries that it loads need to be on the same architecture as well? How can I tell what architecture a given program/process is running under?

Does it have syntax errors?): No module named project.settings Can somebody give any suggestions?

    Hello! Here is a paper, it is about estimating the perspective of binary image containing text and some noise or non text objects. PDF document The algorithm uses the Hidden Markov Model: actually two conditions T - text B - backgrouond (i.e. noise) It is hard to understand the algorithm itself. The question is that I've read about Hidden Markov Models and I know that it uses probabilities that must be known. But in this algorithm I can't understand, if they use HMM, how do they get those probabilities (probability of changing the state from S1 to another state for example S2)? I didn't find anything about training there also in that paper. So, if somebody understands it, please tell me. Also is it possible to use HMM without knowing the state change probabilities?

Can anyone explain why is it like this, and why there is no other commit flag to enable adding files and committing in one command? BTW, hg commit -A adds both new and deleted files to the commit

  • .Net Compact Framework 2.0 touch and nice controls

    Hello! I would like to know if somebody knows free custom nice controls for .NET Compact Framework 2.0. There are nice controls as Manila Interface SDK (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566188), Sense Interface SDK (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648906) and so on for free, but they work only on .NET CF 3.5. Furthermore, there are others that you have to pay for them and for .NET CF 2.0 and 3.5 (Resco or Touch Control Suite). And there is one called Fluid (http://fluid.codeplex.com/) but it's so complicated, there are not exactly controls (are classes added to a host control) and there is not much documentation to work with it. Any nice controls for free and working in .NET CF 2.0? And with list sliders if it's possible? Thanks!
