• Permissions issues with mounting remote server into a specific folder

  I'm doing the following to mount a remote server to a specific path on my server: sshfs [email protected]:/backup/folder/ /home/myuser/server-backups/ However when I mount the server the folder permissions change (they become 700), and when I test my rsnapshot.conf file I get the following error: snapshot_root /home/myuser/server-backups/ - snapshot_root exists \ but is not readable What am I doing wrong ? should I mount the remote server with another user ?

  Hi I accidentally changed one parameter in Windows and it was crashed and restarted everytime I logon. I can't go with safe mode. Restoring to Known Good Configurations doesn't work too. Unfortunately I don't have system backup. Are there any ways to recover or edit the registry file from another OS or bootable Windows PE? Which tools can I use to edit? Many thanks!

Can anybody help me use wildcards for this?

  Every port on my server is blocked except port 222 which is were ssh connects too. This server is pretty much a backup server, and I have my clients rsync to it. I do this by using ssh's port forwarding (-P 222 -L 873:myserver.com:873), however, I want to do this with just using the rsync command. Is that possible?

When I try to open it I get a message like this: The file or directory is corrupt or unreadable Fortunately, I have a backup of that folder so I want to get rid of this folder.   I have the following backup batch file: xcopy C:\test.txt \server\Data\user\"data test" /e /y /i The issue is why does it not only copy the file listed but proceeds to copy the whole root directory? When i remove the switches it only copies the file. There is nothing in the description of those switches that seems to cause the behavior... • Recovering data from failed Raid configuration with 4 drives and two raid sets (Asus P6T / Intel ICH10r)

  I've added the complete detailed version for my question below for those who can help, but want to quickly summarize my question first. I setup two Raid arrays using (4) WD Raptors, a striped set for the OS and 1+0 set for crucial data. After booting once out of the 50 times a cable fell out, the drive wasn't recognized in the array anymore. After trying to fix it, another drive did the same. I now have two drives remaining, luckily with the parity information. I know the striped set is gone, but I need the data on the other set. Can anyone recommend anything to recover the data, or fix the two drives that doesn't allow the raid controller to recognize the drives, even though they are listed on the utility screen as still apart of the configuration but that they are not found? More Details I recently upgraded to a ASUS P6T motherboard with an Intel ICH10R raid controller and changed my previous 4 drive raid array from strictly a Raid 1+0 set to a Raid 0 for the OS/Page/Scratch drive and a Raid 1+0 set for crucial data. I never had problems after upgrading with my configuration, even when a drive died and was replaced. I managed to rebuild the array fine. Unfortunately this time around, a cable came unattached and I booted my system up until the raid status screen with the degraded error. This shouldn't have been a problem, but after I attached the drive it was no longer recognized as a member in the array. Both drives actually show up as a non-member disk. I've spent a very, very long time online trying to find information or support and haven't had much luck. After spending time trying to scan the drive for errors, damaged partition info, etc.. another drive in the set decided it didn't want to be recognized as a part of the array. At this point, I have two out of the four drives still functioning, but the Raid 1+0 array went from degraded to failed and I must find a way to retrieve that data. I think the two drives still in the array have the parity information because they show up as OS (110GB),BACKUP(80GB) and OS:1(110GB),BACKUP(80GB) under windows data management. The other two are simply 74gb Raw unallocated Is it possible recover the data using those two drive only, and which tool would I use? Could it be a simple partition table or any other error that is repairable with hard drive utilities out there? I know the Raid 0 set is done for, but I would assume because the correct drives failed in a 1+0 config to save the data I can retrieve it some how.

Currently I'm using this: /sbin/iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j SNAT --to-source IP; and it works well, but it redirects everything and when I make backups over SSH backup it's failing.   Using two servers with NLB, each box contains IIS and a mail server. Server1 is the primary Server2 runs the backup mail server The problem is the web app sends email to ourselves. When mail is sent from Server2 (via its own SMTP server) to ourselves, it tries to contact Server1, as its the mail server IP. But under Unicast mode of NLB, it cant reach the host via the public dedicated IP address. How can we get round this?

  About to rebuild my XP install and figured I'd see if there was a file or interface for collecting the configs for the built in Windows XP wireless manager. I've looked under the "advance settings" tab and within the properties GUI for each connection and I'm not seeing a way to export the configs. Clearly if I'm exporting these I'd like to be able to import or override the default config with the backup.

  I'm constructing a backup script for Windows 7, and the last action I want it to perform is to safely "remove" the USB drive that it is backing up to. I am under the impression that plugging the drive into the SAME USB port all the time will keep the same DEV_ID, correct me if I'm wrong. With a Command Line (or PowerShell), how can I tell Windows to safely remove the hardware automatically without user input?   I have a backup copy of my previous Documents and Settings folder which only contains my original user and within that, 2 directories (Favorites and Local Settings) which are visible in cmd shell but when I try to delete them, Windows gives me this error: If I try to delete the Documents and Settings folder, I receive this warning: I tried doing this in a cmd shell: attrib *.* -r -a -s -h /s But it did not help, nor did it return any errors/warnings. Unlocker 1.8.5 returns: No Locking handle found. Any ideas?

However I have a tar archive of the entire structure that is more up to date and healthy so now I want to extract all files (including directory structure) based on a date filter on the files if possible?
