• Providing an application data update from a website

  I need to provide an update to application data as a download from a website. The update would actually just be the replacing of some data files with some updated ones. The update, which I assume would be some sort of setup package type program, would need to be able to do the following: access the file system and registry to determine where files should be copied to supply the files to be copied provide strong security so the data files cannot be downloaded or used by the wrong people What would be best way to achieve all of the above?

  Hi Friends, I used Vaadin Table component in my application and i set a page length to 15, Length of the Table is not consistent in different screens resolutions . For example in 1440 x 900 resolution height of the table is big but in 1280 x 1024 resolution the height of the table is less .   When I try it I get: ImportError: dlopen(/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/site-packages/cscalelib.so, 2): Symbol not found: _glBindFramebufferEXT Referenced from: /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/site-packages/cscalelib.so Expected in: dynamic lookup I've tried all sort of things in the setup.py file. What do I actually need to put in it to link to OpenGL properly? My code compiles fine so there's no point putting that on there.

• Finder conceals network connections from lsof?

  If I use the Finder's Go-Connect to Server and connect to an smb/afs, I can see the connection in netstat. But I can't see it in lsof. I also use LittleSnitch, and it fails to detect outbound connections from the Finder. Why is this? Is there some sort of "Apple rootkit" that i'm not aware of?

• Disable TSQL script check?

  Hi, lets say I have a script like that: if(some condition) begin select somecolumn from sometable end Lets say, that "somecolumn" does not exist and the condition is not true, which means the select is NOT executed. Even though the select would not be executed, the script is not valid, Management Studio complains about the missing column "somecolumn". Question: Can I somehow disable this sort of check so that the script is executed and since the if is not true, it will never notice that the column is missing? Thanks :-)

  Hello, I have an application that have EF 16 classes that share this information: They all are classes only with a key field and a description. I think it should be a waste if I make a controller with just 1 method just to present a form to fill these classes info, then I was thinking in to make a generic form(with key, description) and dynamically fill the right class through a sort of selection the selected info in any way, any good suggestion or pattern to do that? Where the generic methods should be located.

• Procedure in converting int to decimal data type?

  I have an int(11) column which is used to store money. I read some of the answers on SO and it seems I just need to update it to be a decimal (19,4) data type. Are there any gotchas I should know about before I actually do the converting? My application is in PHP/Zend and I'm not using an ORM so I doubt I would need to update any sort of class to consistently identify the data type.

  This may be a dumb question but it seems like activateIgnoringOtherApps: may be the only way to activate an app using Cocoa. I have a java app that loads up a Cocoa app and I want the Cocoa app to be activated when this happens. The problem is I do not want to have to launch an intermediate app (some sort of controller) and use this app to activateIgnoringOtherApps: my other Cocoa app. Is there some way to use activateIgnoringOtherApps: to force my Cocoa app to become active?
