• LibreOffice Writer Error due to a lock file

  Every time I try to open a word document I get this error. LibreOffice 3.5 Either another instance of LibreOffice is accessing your personal settings or your personal settings are locked. Simultaneous access can lead to inconsistencies in your personal settings. Before continuing, you should make sure user "closes LibreOffice on host". Do you want to continue? I've been onto different forums to find out a remedy but nothing yet. I've recently done a fresh install of 12.04 (64bit) and have been having some issues with different programs and have been able to work through most of them but this one, I'm lost.

  I have a javascript application and when I run it on firefox I am getting the following erro on the console: "The stylesheet was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html" is not "text/css". DumbStuck!! EDIT: Note that it tells that "The stylesheet ABCD..." But ABCD is actually an HTML file. Edit (ANSWER) : Actually I had wrongly put href="", and hence the html file was refenecing itself as the CSS. Mozilla had the similar bug once, and it is from there I got the answer. But everyone's else answers helped me too. Thanks.

• Which Win32 API reports the Format preference in the Region and Language control panel?

  Windows 7 and Windows Vista have a Region and Language control panel which contains a Formats tab which contains a popup menu titled Format. This menu allows the user to select from among many language-oriented sets of number, currency, time, and date formatting preferences regardless of the language of the base system. For example, I could decide I prefer the default currency symbol to be Japanese yen on a US English system. The Windows Contacts application changes its behavior depending on these format preferences. For example, if I select Japanese formatting preferences, Windows Contacts displays and lets me edit phonetic names (AKA "ruby", "yomi", and "furigana") but not middle names. If I select US English formatting preferences, Windows Contacts displays and lets me edit middle names but not phonetic names. I need to write code (native C calling Win32) which mirrors the behavior of the Windows Contacts application in this respect. Which API should I call?

  Hi all, I'm looking for a way to automate the deployment of a custom CAS policy in SharePoint. What i would like to achieve is the following: All assemblies that have been built and signed by our build server (with a secret key) should run in SharePoint under the 'higher than normal' trust level. Now I can manually edit the cas policy files to include something like this: <CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="MyPermissionSet" Name="[My Company public key]" Description="Grants all "> <IMembershipCondition class="StrongNameMembershipCondition" version="1" PublicKeyBlob="[public key goes here]" /> </CodeGroup> And that works great. However, we have several huge sharepoint farms, with many applications running on it. I'd like to avoid having to manually edit all policy files to include this xml snippet. • Global menu stopped working for most applications

  I have Ubuntu 12.04 32 bits and I had been enjoying global menus and HUD since the beginning. However, for some strange reason, I stopped having global menus for most applications and thus no HUD fun anymore. Actually, the only two applications where I continue to have global menus are Thunderbird and Firefox, so not sure if it has something to do with these two... I've already browsed through some similar reports and already tried the following: checking if indicator-appmenu was installed. tried to use Unsettings to switch on and off, with reboots in the middle, global menus. logged in with a different user to see if it was some configuration of my user. also checked, using dconf-editor that, com ? canonical ? indicator ? appmenu ? menu-mode = "global" Any hint/help would be appreciated! EDIT: I can understand binary search in general. I just can not understand how to apply binary search in this special case. How to decide the missing number is in or not in some range so that we can choose another. English is not my native language, that is one reason I can not understand the author well.   I am working with a QT GUI. I am implementing a simple hex edit control using a QTableView. My initial idea is to use a table with seventeen columns. Each row of the table will have 16 hex bytes and then an ASCII representation of that data in the seventeenth column. Ideally, I would like to edit/set the style of the seventeenth column to have no lines on the top and bottom of each cell to give the text a free flowing appearance. What is the best way to approach this using the QTableView?

• "bad mirror archive" : What should I put as the "mirror of ubuntu archive" on installation of ubuntu?

  I'm trying to set up ubuntu from my old macintosh laptop, but when it asks me to put in the "mirror of ubuntu archive" I run into problems. For the mirror, I put in mirror.anl.gov for the ubuntu archive mirror directory, i put in pub/ubuntu/ Then I leave the http proxy blank and hit "continue" It then tries to "download release files", which starts at 0%, and eventually jumps straight to 100% and then it presents me with an error of "bad mirror archive". Any advice? I never set up ubuntu before, and I'm really struggling with this step.

  Hi, im moving a Dll (built in c++) from windows 2000 server to a 2008 server but im have some trouble to register it. In 2000 all you normaly have to do is a "regsrv32 name.dll" but this will not work in 2008 because you get a pointer error, iv also tried to use "gacutil /i name.dll" because someone told me this might work, but it didnt. So, im kind of desperate, is there anyone that have some solution to how i can get this c++ dll to work in 2000 server so that i can access it from an old classic asp page. EDIT: This is the error when running regsrv: " The module "name.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "name.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again. " Note that i cant edit the dll file in anyway =( Best Regards Marthin

• How to stop HTML text in textarea to be interpreted as code

  I have a textarea that users can edit. After the edit I save the text in a PHP variable $bio. When I want to display it I do this: <?php $bio = nl2br($bio); echo $bio; ?> But if a user for example types an HTML command like "strong" in their text my site will actually output the text as bold. Which is nothing I want. How can I print/echo the $bio on the screen just as text and not as HTML code? Thanks in advance!

• Escaping ampersands in URLs for HttpClient requests

  So I've got some Java code that uses Jakarta HttpClient like this: URI aURI = new URI( "http://host/index.php?title=" + title + "&action=edit" ); GetMethod aRequest = new GetMethod( aURI.getEscapedPathQuery()); The problem is that if title includes any ampersands (&), they're considered parameter delimiters and the request goes screwy... and if I replace them with the URL-escaped equivalent %26, then this gets double-escaped by getEscapedPathQuery() into %2526. I'm currently working around this by basically repairing the damage afterward: URI aURI = new URI( "http://host/index.php?title=" + title.replace("&", "%26") + "&action=edit" ); GetMethod aRequest = new GetMethod( aURI.getEscapedPathQuery().replace("%2526", "%26")); But there has to be a nicer way to do this, right? Note that the title can contain any number of unpredictable UTF-8 chars etc, so escaping everything else is a requirement.

• On what basis would you split donation money among your open source team members without any strife?

  I am a developer of an open source project which is hosted in SourceForge. It started out as a little app then after some releases, it got more and more popular and it started consuming more time and responsibility from me. So I have enabled the donation option in SourceForge. I'm passionate to continue developing it for free but if (ever) any money comes in, how should I split it with my team? Should I split the amount equally among the number of team members? (50-50 as it is two-member team now) Number of classes, commits or any other valuable submissions by team members? Any other idea? What would you do in such situation? Please give your opinions. I hope this question will be useful for others.

• Has MyEclipse implicit breakpoint in debugging mode in class URLClassPath [migrated]

  I am beginner in MyEclipse IDEA. I using 8.6.1 version of it. My issue is: When I execute my program in debug mode, MyEclipse go to sun.misc.URLClassPath class and I must Resume breakpoint(by pressing F8 key) and continue executing my program. MyEclipse stay in URLClassPath class in following thread stack: 1. URLClassPath$JarLoader.<init>(URL, URLStreamHandler, HashMap) line: 581 2. URLClassPath$JarLoader.ensureOpen() line: 631 3. URLClassPath$JarLoader.getJarFile(URL) line: 641 4. URLClassPath$JarLoader.ensureOpen() line: 631 Note: this event happen when some jar file exist in my project Build-Path but when my application is simple this problem don't make and first breakpoint is my first breakpoint. Why this event happened?

• jQuery UI AutoComplete remote json response question

  I was using geonames.org to autocomplete city and state but found it to be far too slow to be reliable. My code is as follows, and does work (wait about 10 seconds to see the autocomplete results) Old (working) code here: http://jsbin.com/umewo3/2/edit Now I am using YQL as they provide a much quicker response. The issue is that I don't seem to understand how to properly map the response. You can see I am sending a well formed request, and getting the response back - but I am somehow not dealing with the response properly.
