    Hi I am trying to layout 1 textview (upText) left aligned and 1 textview (downText) and an image view (image) both on the same line and right aligned. how can I do that?   • iPhone: scroll view with arbitrary page/"settling" boundaries?

    Hi all, I'm trying to figure out if I can get what I want out of UIScrollView through some trickery or whether I need to roll my own scroll view: I have a series of items in row that I want to scroll through. One item should always be centered in the view, but other items should be visible to either side. In other words, I want normal scrolling and edge bouncing, but I want the deceleration when the user ends a touch to naturally settle at some specified stop point. (Actually now that I think of it, this behavior is similar to coverflow in this respect.) I know UIScrollView doesn't do this out of the box, but does anyone have suggestions for how it might be made to do this, or if anyone's spotted any code that accomplishes something similar (I'm loathe to reimplement all the math for deceleration and edge bounce) Thanks!

  • Virtual Mode List View Click 1 Selects More Than One Items

    I have a list view with virtual mode set to true and other things. It doing ok. But 1) Say there are 25 items and 15 of them are visible, that is to see the rest of 10 items need to scroll down. 2) Before scrolling swap two items, say myItems[0], it must be visible & myItems[20], it must be not visible scroll required. 3) Now select the first item, it was swapped, you now have two items selected, both 0 indexed and 20 indexed ones. When after swap, those two list view items are of same Position and same Bounds. But before 20-indexed item's Position was (-1, -1) and Bounds was (0,0,0,0). How come 0-indexed item didn't change its position & size? How to solve this ?

  • ASP.NET MVC pass information from controller to view WITHOUT ViewData, ViewModel, or Session

    I have a unique scenario where I want a base controller to grab some data and store it in a list. The list should be accessible from my views just as ViewData is. I will be using this list on every page and would like a cleaner solution than just shoving it in the ViewDataDictionary. After attempting to come up with a solution, I thought I would create a custom ViewPage with a property to hold my list. My custom ViewPage would inherit from System.Web.MVC.ViewPage. However, I do not know where MVC passes the viewdata from the controller off to the view. More importantly, how do I get it to pass my list down to the view? Thanks for the help.

  • Core-Data Can't pass managedObjectContext from app delegate to view controller

    I'm making a core-data application that is view based. I can create the managedObjectContext and 'use' it in the app delegate, but can not pass it to the mainviewcontroller.   • Dynamic data validation in ASP.NET MVC

    I've recently read about the model validation capabilities of ASP.NET MVC which are all very cool until a certain point. What happens if the application doesn't know the data that it works with because it is all stored in DB and built together at runtime. Just like in Drupal, I'd like to be able to define custom types at runtime, and assign runtime validation rules as well. Obviously, the idea of assigning attributes to well established models is now gone. What else could be done ? I am thinking in terms of rules being stored as JSON objects in the DB fields or something like that.

  • Redirecting input to another view

    My application is working fine on the normal iPad display, but I also need to output to VGA out. When I do this, I need to add the view to the external screen's window which seems to mean that I can't use it to accept input from the iPad screen. I want to redirect input from the iPad's window to the window displaying on the external screen. As far as I can tell there's no standard method of doing this. I've tried overriding hitTest on the iPad's window view to send it to the window on the external display, but the coordinates seem to get messed up in the process which makes it nigh unusable. I've also tried subclassing the iPad's UIWindow and catching events in sendEvent, then trying to send them to the external window, but this doesn't seem to work at all. Any help would be appreciated, I'm happy to post any code you would like to see. Thanks, Jon

    Hey Guys. I'm very new with rails and I've been building a CMS application backend. All is going well, but I would like to know if this is possible? Basically I have two models: @page { id, name, number } @extended_page { id, page_id, description, image } The idea is that there are bunch of pages but NOT ALL pages have extended_content. In the event that there is a page with extended content then I want to be able to have a form that allows for editing both of them. In the controller: @page = Page.find(params[:id]) @extended= Extended.find(:first, :conditions = ["page_id = ?",@page.id]) @combined = ... #merge the two somehow So in the view: <%- form_for @combined do |f| % <%= f.label :name % <%= f.text_field :name % ... <%= f.label :description % <%= f.text_field :description % <%- end This way in the controller, there only has to be one model that will be updated (which will update to both). Is this possible?

    Hi team; I am working on the domain model for a project. I have a class named user that has a class named UserType as one of the properties. I know when i want to select all users, i will use joins to pick up all corresponding usertypes. How do i do inserts? Do i have to write a handler for userType? or can i do something like INSERT INTO users(... usertype_id ...) VALUES(... #{usertype.usertype_id}...) Please help; I have spent the whole day trying to figure this out. Am using ibatis 3.0 and am new to ibatis. Regards Josh

  • Does Ruby on Rails "has_many" array provide data on a "need to know" basis?

    On Ruby on Rails, say, if the Actor model object is Tom Hanks, and the "has_many" fans is 20,000 Fan objects, then actor.fans gives an Array with 20,000 elements. Probably, the elements are not pre-populated with values? Otherwise, getting each Actor object from the DB can be extremely time consuming. So it is on a "need to know" basis? So does it pull data when I access actor.fans[500], and pull data when I access actor.fans[0]? If it jumps from each record to record, then it won't be able to optimize performance by doing sequential read, which can be faster on the hard disk because those records could be in the nearby sector / platter layer -- for example, if the program touches 2 random elements, then it will be faster just to read those 2 records, but what if it touches all elements in random order, then it may be faster just to read all records in a sequential way, and then process the random elements. But how will RoR know whether I am doing only a few random elements or all elements in random?

    I have several partial views with Javascript that I am trying to move to the bottom of the page. To do this I am trying to use a container in the master page Master Page - <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="Foot" runat="server"></asp:ContentPlaceHolder> Partial view(ascx) <asp:Content ID="header" ContentPlaceHolderID="head" runat="server"> ... </asp:Content> But I get this error Parser Error Message: Content controls have to be top-level controls in a content page or a nested master page that references a master page. So how do I ensure that the Javascript for the partial view is at the bottom of the page? Especially in cases where the html layout needs to be at the top of the page?

    Hello, I have been working with a iPhone app that I would like to have switch views like the Palm Pre does for multitasking. I know the usual way of switching views by using the black bar at the bottom of the app but the app I am working on does not lend itself to having a big black bar in the way (see attached picture #1). I guess my question is, how do I shrink the current view (Current Location window) and show other views on the sides? (see attached picture #2) Then be able to swipe left and right to view other views.     i am new in iphone development, i am using table view to list name of the student, what i want to do is i want to get the row number of the cell the user pressed , currently i can get the name(string) of the cell, //code in didSelectRowAtIndexPath //the obj.name where is a string, it works fine obj.name=[obj.studentname objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; //if i try obj.num , where num is nsinteger .i am getting errors of type i dnt understand obj.num=[[obj.studentname objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]count]; i even tried but i cant get the number. example if faizan lies on 12th cell. what i want to do is,is save 12 in a number and show it on the next view label.i cant put it in the variable thanks for your help in advance

    I am just looking at setting up a simple viewController programatically, I have a ViewController.xib file that I have set the background color to RED in interface builder. I have also added the following to my AppDelegate.m @implementation syntax_MapViewAppDelegate @synthesize window; -(BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { viewController = [[MapViewController alloc] init]; [window addSubview:[viewController view]]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; return YES; } -(void)dealloc { [viewController release]; [window release]; [super dealloc]; } @end When I run the code it does what I expect apart from the white bar at the bottom of the screen, can anyone give me any pointers in how to remove this?     Is there a way in java to have a ListModel that only accepts a certain type? What I'm looking for is something like DefaultListModel<String> oder TypedListModel<String>, because the DefaultListModel only implements addElement(Object obj) and get(int index) which returns Object of course. That way I always have to cast from Object to e.g. String and there is no guarantee that there are only strings in my model, even though I'd like to enforce that. Is this a flaw or am I using list models the wrong way?

    Hi, I have a tricky problem and I'm not sure where in the view rendering process to attempt this. I am building a simple blog/CMS in MVC and I would like to inject a some html (preferably a partial view) into the page if the user is logged in as an admin (and therefore has edit privileges). I obviously could add render partials to master pages etc. But in my system master pages/views are the "templates" of the CMS and therefore should not contain CMS specific <% % markup. I would like to hook in to some part of the rendering process and inject the html myself. Does anyone have any idea how to do this in MVC? Where would be the best point, ViewPage, ViewEngine? However, it is unworkably verbose, will be a maintenance nightmare and is probably fairly inefficient with all the redundant object construction. Is there a simpler way of creating an index with the required structure (ViewA) given a collection of documents (DocA)? FURTHER INFORMATION The issue appears to be that in order to have the index hold the data in the transformed structure (ViewA), we have to do a Reduce. It appears that a Reduce must have both a GROUP ON and a SELECT in order to work as expected so the following are not valid: INVALID REDUCE CLAUSE 1: Reduce = results => from result in results group on new ViewA { Id = result.Id, Name = result.Name, CurrencyName = result.CurrencyName } into g select g.Key; This produces: System.InvalidOperationException: Variable initializer select must have a lambda expression with an object create expression Clearly we need to have the 'select new'. INVALID REDUCE CLAUSE 2: Reduce = results => from result in results select new ViewA { Id = result.Id, Name = result.Name, CurrencyName = result.CurrencyName }; This prduces: System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'ICSharpCode.NRefactory.Ast.IdentifierExpression' to type 'ICSharpCode.NRefactory.Ast.InvocationExpression'. Clearly, we also need to have the 'group on new'. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. (Note: removing the type (ViewA) from the constructor calls has no effect on the above)

    I've the following code to fetch events: $('#calendar').fullCalendar({ theme: true, slotMinutes: 10, header: { left: 'prev,next today', center: 'title', right: 'month,agendaWeek,agendaDay', }, defaultView: 'agendaDay', allDaySlot: false, editable: false, events: "/cgi-bin/shlk/getshlkruns.pl" }); The output from getshlkruns.pl is fairly simple json feed: [{'title': 'Successful','start': 1266398223,'end': 1266398266,'url': '/shlk/cgi-bin/getshlkrunlog.pl?i=21'}] There are several events like above (i've removed for brevity sake). So the above events show up when am in the month view but mysteriously absent when am in week or day view. What am doing wrong here? Thanks in advance for your answers.
