  I upgraded my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and wanted to reinstall Ubuntu alongside Windows 8. However, I read in many places that Windows 8 causes many new problems with the installation through WUBI, and doesn't work on computers pre-installed with Windows 8 because of a problem in the BiOS or something of that sort. Does it work on computers that were upgraded to Windows 8? I'd like to get a confirmation before I go ahead and try to install it. Thanks!

  Im trying to install ubuntu on window 7 virtual PC, when I boot to the ubuntu ISO image just before the partitioning stage where ubuntu confirms you have at leaset 4GB hard drive space the installer puts a cross on requirement indicating system does not have required amount of space... however I have a 220GB hard drive with 20GB used to create the virtual disk..Its all a bit weird as I can't seem figure it out

  I wish to be able to see and stream music to my Ubuntu 10.04 installation through Rhythmbox. I have enabled media streaming in Windows 7 and I can see Rhythmbox as an allowed device. I have installed the Coherence plugin for Rhythmbox. I can see my Windows 7 PC under the Shared folder in Rhythmbox, but I do not see any of my music. Is there a step along the way that I missed or something else that I have to enable?

  I have a Ubuntu Server 11.04 and I have created three virtual machines on separate PC with: Ubuntu Desktop Windows XP Windows 7 After completing the installation process, when I restart my server or for booting it for next time, Ubuntu desktop boots correctly but both the Windows OSes asks for a CD (that means any Windows OS variant CD), then it starts booting.   I exported a virtual machine from my work station, and I am trying to renew the ip-address at home. I put one copy on my laptop and one copy on my PC. I've done this sudo rm /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules and changed the MAC address, but they keep coming back as 192.168.1.165. I need them to be different because I need to run two of these exports at the same time, so I cannot afford to have the same IP. What can I do? Thanks.

The author has done it by writing an ARM emulator for an AVR controller and running Linux with this emulation : Linux on an 8-bit micro?.This is definitely not the fastest, but I think it may be the cheapest, slowest, simplest to hand assemble, lowest part count, and lowest-end Linux PC. Per an article ran: ~$ sudo apt-get install mesa-utils ~$ glxinfo | grep renderer Output: OpenGL renderer string: GeForce 8200/integrated/SSE2/3DNOW! Do I need to get a graphics card to fix or will software tweaks solve this?
