• How to deploy a Scala project from Eclipse?

  I have a Scala project in Eclipse that I need to package up so I can deploy it to a server. It's based on Jetty but it runs as a standalone application. It contains Scala classes, Java classes and a number of 3rd party jars. I assumed there would be some kind of deployment option in the Scala Eclipse plugin but I've drawn a blank. What is the simplest way to package the Scala project into a runnable file so it can be deployed? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers.

• Maven project dependecy against JDK version

  I have projects that need to be build with a specific version of the JDK. The problem isn't in the source and target parameters but in the jars of the runtime used during compilation. In some cases I get a compilation error if I try to compile with the wrong JDK, but sometimes the build is successful and I get runtime errors when using the jars. For example in eclipse I have the ability to establish the execution enviroment for the project in the .classpath file. Is there a way to handle such situation in maven? What I would like to have is the ability to handle JRE dependency like other dependencies of the project in the POM file.

  I have a project where I'm loading relative image Uri's from an xml file. I'm loading the image like this: if (child.Name == "photo" && child.Attributes["href"] != null && File.Exists(child.Attributes["href"].Value)) { Image image = new Image(); image.Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(child.Attributes["href"].Value, UriKind.RelativeOrAbsolute)); images.Add(image); } Where the "child" object is an XmlNode which could looks like this <photo name="info" href="Resources\Content\test.png"/> During debug it seemd images is filled with actual images but when I want to see them in any way it shows nothing. Weird thing is when I include the images in my project it does work, I however dont want to do that since my point for using an xml file is so that it would be lost since you'd have to rebuild the program anyway after a change.

  Hi! I have setup subversion 1.6.5 on Fedora. I have decided to use a single repository for multiple projects. I have added one project, projA, to the repository. I will have more projects to add to the repository in future. If I try to add next project with the command 'svn import . file:///path/to/repos' gives svn: File already exists: filesystem '/usr/local/svn-repos/proj-test/db', transa ction '1-1', path '/trunk'. The new projB is being added to the trunk directory of projA. I have read the section "Adding Projects" in http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.1/ch05s04.html In that book, projects are added at once. But,I would like to add them one by one as new projects become ready to go. What is the proper command and/or how that can be done? Thanks. Banani

If not, the default icon will be displayed. However it is natural to think that icons to the files of the registered type (such as pdf, txt, doc, etc.), should be taken from the OS after installation. What I want: What I get: How to implement this? PS: Of course, I can get the pdf and txt icons from somewhere, add them to the VS project and set to the shortcuts, but I believe that there should be a better solution.

  Hello! In my WPF project i want to have only one Window - MainWindow and UserControls as working part. I have some little different applications in one, and want to make navigation on top of my MainWindow as buttons. And little applications as UserControl. In MainWindow - grid with Big Empty Zone - which use to keep and run work. But, i want to navigate to other userControl from another. (probably do not understand :() How organize architecture WPF project that: one main window and many usercontrols which places in mainwindow and replace each other in turn. and there is the possibility of navigating from another usercontrol to another. May be it's MVVM, but i don't understand how this pattern can help me.

• Writable folder by all users on the same pc

  I have a desktop .NET WPF application witch uses an embedded database (SQLite). Where to put the database file ? It's the same database for all users. I tried to use CommonAppData but it's not writable by non-admin users. So I tried to use a custom installer action to give write rights to all users to this folder but it fails on domain PCs. The code is: DirectorySecurity security = Directory.GetAccessControl(appDataPath); FileSystemAccessRule rule = new FileSystemAccessRule("Users", FileSystemRights.WriteData, InheritanceFlags.ContainerInherit | InheritanceFlags.ObjectInherit, PropagationFlags.InheritOnly, AccessControlType.Allow); security.AddAccessRule(rule); Directory.SetAccessControl(appDataPath, security); Would ".\Users" insead of "Users" work on a domain ? Is this the best approach ? Is there any other folder I could use ?

Actions taken: Downloaded and installed the dotTrace Profiler 5.5 from the JetBrains website Downloaded the dotTrace.Performance.Remote version 5.5.0 from Nuget Published the website to WAWS via Visual Studio 2013 Started the dotTrace application as Administrator Connected to the remote _https://subdomain.azurwebsites.net/AgentService.asmx.   I have QT installed on disc D (on Windows). And I want to move it to disc C. Is it possible to do that? If I just copy QT folder from C to D then I see lot of errors when I compile my applications that use QT. Errors are because qmake.exe contains full paths to include, bin and libs folders inside. So, when I create solution for Visual Studio 2005 using qmake - then this solution contains dependencies to old QT folder from disc D. And I found no way how to remove this dependencies without reinstalling of QT. It is not a big problem for one my single machine - I can reinstall. But I need to deliver this change then to tens and hundreds of other developers machines and I want to make it as easy as possible without need to reinstall QT.

  I'm developing a new aspnet website with 200k images in a /Images/ -folder. Many operations in Visual Studio is slow because it access the folder, adding a web service takes 10 minutes. The images is not checked into scm (svn). How should I structure the tree of code, to improve performance in VS? It would also be neat if not all developers needed to copy 200k images to their local disk to be able to develop on the site. Images as DB blobs is not an option.

  I've a small project that I want to share with a few others on a machine that we all have access to. I created a bare copy of the local repo with git clone --bare --no-hardlinks path/to/.git/ repoToShare.git I then moved repoToShare.git to the server. I can check it out with the following: git clone ssh://user@address/opt/gitroot/repoToShare.git/ test I can then see everything in the local repo and make commits against that. When I try to push changes back to the remote server I get the following error. *** Project description file hasn't been set error: hooks/update exited with error code 1 error: hook declined to update refs/heads/master Any ideas?

  I am working with Visual Studio 2010 and it's integrated testing functionality. I have an XML file in my project which is set to copy to the output directory. I can access the file just fine when I compile and run the project. But it doesn't exist when I attempt to access it within a TestMethod. It looks like the test is run with the working directory set to an "Out" directory created within the TestResults directory. I can set a breakpoint before I use the file. If I then copy the file into this "Out" directory and continue running the test it accesses the file properly. But that is not really how I want my automated tests to function. Is it possible to tell VS to copy the build directory into this working directory?

  Hey, How can i redirect a subdomain call to a folder? So when the site, sub.domain.com is requested, the name of the subdomain should point to a subfolder. The server is configured to add every request to the domain, but i get a 404 page everytime i do a non-defined subdomain call (witch is trivial, because theres nothing defined) EDIT my request looks like this: sub.domain.com What and i want to get that it works like a "virtual subdomain", because it has to request a folder with the same name that the subdomain.   Hi! I am a beginner in the process of designing and coding a project, I already have all the ideas on my head, but I have a problem impeding me of continuing this project. I feel the code is ugly and unreadable and I cannot continue it this way. The project is a programming language I have on my mind, and it has small graphics capabilities. Even being beginner, I want to code it using DirectX because everybody wants it. And I want to code it entirely, not depend on any wrapper libraries like SDL. I did a refactoring of the DirectX module and it exposed all the weaks. There is Direct3D code everywhere, but the code itself does very little! I would start building a project like this using DirectX or I should use just GDI and the Multimedia API of Windows? This is a good progress for a beginner?

  Hi all I have a project "A" that is a Git repo. I would like to be able to make multiple copies of project A (B and C), and modify them for clients. "A" is the master so sometimes when I do new functionality i would like to be able to pull them from B or C. But some commits should just stay in A and never leave :-) How do I do that with Git?   Hello all, Since some time I've been investigating more time into profiling things better, really think about how to do a thing and why. Now I'm going to start a new project, where I will be writing a report about. The report will be about anything what I wrote in the project, why, and I'll be investigating some things and do particular research about them. I've seen some reports, such as game programming in Haskell using FRP. However, after reading several reports they all seem to be build different. I have a few questions about writing a report: 1] What are the things I really should include, and what are the things I really shouldn't include? 2] Is it useful to include graphs about different methods/approaches to a several problem, where you only included one into your project, to show WHY you didn't include the other methods. Or should I just explain the method/approach used into the project. 3] Should I only be writing the report after I've completed the project, or should I also write pages about what I expect, how I'm going to build the software?   In Visual Studio 2008 project properties, Application tab, I can set the Output type to Windows Application, Console Application, or Class Library. I have a project that I want to build as a stand-alone tool (console app) and be available to a couple other tools I'm working on as a class library. The VS GUI only lets me choose one or the other, and building the proj twice all the time is inconvenient. How can I set it up to build both output types in a single build job? Is the following transfering steps correct? put a test.jpg image on client's folder -- convert the test.jpg in client.java(main.java) class to BufferedImage -- convert the BufferedImage to mat or Iplimage in server for using openCV.I have set a hello world sample from Simple Messaging Example using Hessian , and searched from Hessian with large binary data and other websites, but still dont know how to use it!   Are there any good, free tools to profile memory usage in C# ? Details: I have a visualization project that uses quite large collections. I would like to check which parts of this project - on the data-processing side, or on the visualization side - use most of the memory, so I could optimize it. I know that when it comes to computing size of the collection the case is quite simple and I can do it on my own. But there are also certain elements for which I cannot estimate the memory usage so easily. The memory usage is quite big, for example processing a file of size 35 MB my program uses a little bit more than 250 MB of RAM.
