  In the left navigation i have a series of check boxes and a grid view in the page body.Grid view results changes based on the check box selection,whenever i click on the links in grid view it goes to the second page and there is a link on the page which takes me back to the first page,but the check box selected value is maintained for the first time only and if we repeat the same process for the second time and i see that the first time selection of the check box is maintained.Here the grid view is placed in update panel and the check box in the left is called using .... AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="cphLeftNavigation". I've tried removing the above code referring the cphLeftNavigation and i see the results are coming up correctly and the last selected check box value is being maintained correctly and i want the same functionality to be implemented with/without update panel. Can anyone let me know,what exactly should i change to implement the above mentioned functionality.

• Maximizing the current window in javascript

  Is there a way I can maximize a currently minimized window from Javascript? Here's my situation: I have a series of links that all target the same external window (e.g. "MyNewWindow"). When I click a link, a new window pops up. If I click another link, the page pops up in the same window as expected. If I minimize the "MyNewWindow" popup, I'd like to be able to click another link and have that window maximize. My approach was to put something on the onLoad part of the body so that when the page is refreshed it will automatically "maximize" if it is minimized. Note: Using window.MoveTo() and window.resizeTo() doesnt seem to do the trick (the window stays minimized). Thanks!

• C# Express 2010 Multi-Threading

  Hi, I have a windows app that I have been running in c# Express 2008 for a year and have been trying to convert it over the last few days to 2010. The problem I am having is it is a multi-threaded application that has to run a series of code every second. What it does is have a main thread, that calls 3 worker threads, waits for them to finish then does some additional processing, sleeps till 1 second and runs again. The problem is part of the code can call a web service that takes 8 seconds to respond, so this bit of code gets called using ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem. The problem is when running in 2010 when this part of the code gets called the main thread continues to run but when it awakens the sub threads it hangs until the Threadpool method finishes running. This never happens in 2008. Any suggestions? So far I put that bit of code in it's own thread rather than using Threadpool but same issue.

  I have a real basic command-line program, in Objective-C, that searches for user inputed information. Unfourtunately, the code will only read the first word in series of words that the user enters. For example, if the user enters in "Apples are great", only "Apples" is kept (and hence searched later on), excluding the "are great" part of the sentence. • Getting values from datagrid view column to list<>

  My main form in my application has a datagrid view that can have 1 to many user selected inputs. Column 8 of this grid is for the user to input "time in minutes." I have a separate class where I have built a timer that counts down from whatever time the user specifies down to 0. What I need is to create a series of alarms that go off as the timer counts down that are triggered by the user input values in column 8 of my datagrid. I think the best way to do this is to build a list< from the values in the datagrid. I for whatever reason can't quite figure out how to get the values from the datagrid in to a list< in my other class. Hopefully I explained in a way that makes sense.

• How do I get more control of UIImageView animation?

  I'm trying to display a series of images in a animation where the duration between the images changes frame to frame. I can successfully animate images where the duration is the same. I've looked into subclassing UIImageView but it doesn't seem to allow you access anything that could be helpful. I've also looked into subclassing UIView directly but it seems like I'd have to write a lot of the stuff that UIImageView already does for me. Is there a way to do this with UIImageView? Or if I am going to have to build my own UIView animation can someone point me the right direction to get started? Thanks.

• How to use the Visual Studio 2012 command line tool from system()

  I am attempting to compile and run one visual C++ program (project1) from another visual C++ program (project2) using msbuild and other commands available in the Visual studio command line tool but not in the windows command line tool. Everything works fine if I run it in the visual studio command line tool. For example I can build using msbuild and it works just as I want it to. When I try to run the same command in my C++ program using system(), the system call appears to use the Windows command line and therefore cannot find any of the commands (msbuild in this example). I am new to working with system() on windows (although I have extensive experience with it using Linux). Is there some way to make my C++ program use the Visual Studio command line environment when I call system (rather than Windows command line environment)? Using the command window manually is not an option. I need to compile and test a series of 200-300 different versions of the program in the project1. This is why I am writing program2

Currently, I am using the statistics gem to pull out values for each 'day': define_statistic :sent_count, :count => :all, :group => 'DATE(date_sent)', :filter_on => {:email_id => 'email_id > = ?'}, :order => 'DATE(date_sent) ASC' What this does is create an array where there are values for a date, for example [["12-20-2010",1], ["12-24-2010",3]] But I need it to fill in the null values, so it looks more like: [["12-20-2010",1], ["12-21-2010",0], ["12-22-2010",0], ["12-23-2010",0], ["12-24-2010",3]] Notice how the second example has "0" values for the days that were missing from the first array.

  Hi, At the moment the team i am working with is looking into the possibility of storing data which is entered by users from a series of input wizard screens as an XML blob in the database. the main reason for this being that i would like to write the input wizard as a component which can be brought into a number of systems without having to bring with it a large table structure. To try to clarify if the wizard has 100 input fields (for example) then if i go with the normal relational db structure then their will be a 1 to 1 relationship so will have 100 columns in database. So to get this working in another system will have to bring the tables,strore procedures etc into the new system.   Question: In the path HUDSON_HOME/jobs/<jobname>/builds/<timestamp>/workspace-files, there are a series of .tmp files. What are these files, and what feature of Hudson do they support? Background Using Hudson version 1.341, we have a continuous build task that runs on a slave instance. After the build is otherwise complete, including archiving the artifacts, task scanner, etc., the job appears to hang for a long period of time. In monitoring the master node, I noted that many .tmp files were being created and modified under builds//workspace=files, and that some of them were very large. This appears to be causing the delay, as the job completed at the same time that files in this path stopped changing. Some key configuration points of the job: It is tied to a specific slave node It builds in a 'custom workspace' It triggers a downstream job that builds in the same custom workspace on the same slave node

• EXCEL - Locking a Cell from User input whilst allowing a Linked combobox?

  I have a Protected Worksheet which is a checklist with a series of checkpoints. Each row has Item and Description cells that are locked. Each row has several columns with its contents to be set by a ComboBox and a text input column. Both i have left unlocked. I have Locked the the Item and Description columns and left only the 'Select Unlocked Cells' checked via Sheet Protection. I have one ComboBox on the worksheet that moves around and adjusts its LinkedCell and its Content list using the worksheets SelectionChanged event. When the user selects a cell to bring up the drop down list, the user is able to type into the cell and the Drop Down Box disappears. What is the best way to keep the cell unlocked so it can be selectable(as 'Select Locked Cells" is unchecked) however stop the user from being able to type in the cell and to allow the cells contents to become modifiable only via the ComboBox?

  I have a virtual machine (made with vmware) with a linux ubuntu os installed on it (i have a series of them), with NAT network connection - i am running vmware on Windows XP (my host system); the virtual machine can't connect to the internet. All the vmware services seem to be working fine from windows point of view, but inside the machine i can't connect to the internet. What is strange is that the virtual machine was able to use the internet some time ago, but all of a sudden, i just can't use my internet on the virtual machine - i have made no changes to the settings, nor in windows, nor in the virtual machine - so i don't understand.

• C# Dataset usage necessary before passing to GridView datasource?

  Scenario Lets say for example I have a series of events that fire continually every half second presenting me with an object containing some bits of information. There are always between 10 and 15 objects that are being updated constantly. Since these bits of information are changing continually I want to display them in a GridView. When I do so, I want the user to see the data displayed in the gridview and actually be updated as opposed to just a continually extending list being printed and incrementing (like writeline on the console). Question Is the best way to achieve this to map my objects to a dataset and have the dataset mapped to the gridview? Thoughts Will this allow the gridview to just be "UPDATED" as opposed to being added to? Any implementation suggestions would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: it MUST be windows forms (I use DevExpress too)

  Hi all, I'm trying to plan a series of websites that all share many of the resources such as css/jscript/images/content etc. For this reason I wanted to run all of the websites under the same application and IIS profile, but depending on the URL being used change the masterpage and theme/skin. The ASP.NET membership database seems as if it was designed with this goal in mind because it allows you to setup multiple applications, however I believe the purpose for which this was built was to allow applications to be run under virtual directories/fodlers, not on seperate urls.   I'm quite interested in automatic images translation to 3d models. Not really for commercial product, but from the point of possible academic research and implementation. What I'd like to achieve is almost transparent for user process of transformation series of images (fewer is better) to 3d model which might be shown in flash/silverlight/javafx or similar. Consider online furniture store with 3d models of all items in stock. Kinda cool to have ability to see the product in 3d before purchasing it. I managed to find a few pieces of software, like insight3d, but it couldn't be used in my case I guess. So, are there any similar projects or tips for me? If it would require to write that piece of software - I'd really love to dig into research on this field.

  I'm doing a windows form and would like an audit task to happen every 30 seconds. This audit is essentially checking a series of services on remote computers and reporting back into a richtextbox the status. Current I have this running in an endless background thread and using an invoker to update the richtextbox in the main form. Is this best practice? If I made an endless loop in my main form that would prevent any of my buttons from working, correct? What is each part doing? Functionally, the animation makes visible a series of pictures, then the whole site. I want to skip the animation and just make the whole site visible(if cookies='visited'). I'd like to do this without rewriting the animation script. here's a link. What happens now is if you have the cookie the animation doesn't run and everything is hidden.
