• Problem facing fetching contacts from yahoo using open Social API

  Hello there I was trying to get contact list from yahoo for POC. It was documented that the there is need to send a GET request to the URL with the user's ID and returns the contact list in XML format. I tried the same but facing the authentication message 401 from browser, normal console java application and from jsp too I guess I must try it using the open social API package. Can anybody please guide or suggest the solution for this problem if possible please post any code sample for any similar application in JAVA as I found most samples are unclear and in JSON only. • Visual Studio 2008 Crashes When Opening Project Properties

  I have a multi-project .NET application which I am developing in Visual Studio 2008. If I try to open the project properties for one of my projects (to change settings or publish) Visual Studio immediately closes. There is no prompt to send a report to Microsoft, and two consecutive errors logged in the Event Viewer: .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3053 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A035E00) (80131506) .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3053 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A2E0F92) (0) If I delete all the .user and .suo files in my solution, I can once again publish and access project properties. The error, however, returns over time. This seems to suggest that the .suo or .user files are getting corrupted by Visual Studio. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix the problem?

• What is the best XPS WYSIWYG Editor that will output XAML?

  I am looking for a WYSIWYG for XPS that will ouput the raw XAML. My intentions is use the tool for a way to quickly generate and test the XAML (of XPS documents) with the intention of then generating the same xaml in code and programmatically generating an XPS document. The same approach that many people use for generating html. Can anyone recommend any of the below products or suggest any others? Better yet does anyone know of a free XPS editor?   Hi, My project has a requirement to implement look-ahead caching i.e. triggering another request on invokation of a specific request. The following details in short the implementation - HttpModule parses the SOAPRequest and matches entry in a configuration file for look-ahead candidate. If the request matches, it prepares the Parameters dictionary and starts appropriate workflow. Single workflow runtime is used across all requests is ensured through initializing the runtime instance at Application_Start event and stored in Application Dictionary. Using persistence service and DefaultScheduler service. We can't implement windows service model, as current requirement mandates passing the SOAPRequest parameters as arguments. ManualSchedulerService is not in contention due to synchronous nature of it's actual behaviour. Still the performance is pretty bad and product team is not happy. Can anybody suggest me better solution? Thanks, Samir

  hi guys, i know implementing database is a huge topic, but i want to have a basic understanding of how database systems works (e.g. memory management, binary tree, transaction, sql parsing, multi-threading, partitions, etc) by investigating the source code of the database, since there are a few already proven very robust open source databases like mysql, sqlite and so on. however, the code are very complicated and i have no clue where to start. also i find that the old school database textbooks are only explaining the theory, not the implementation details. Like a auto suggest thing... I searched at the web but didnt find many stuff. For WYSIWYG editors i couldnt determine if you can programaticcaly apply stuff and set/get caret position. Also i show that autosuggest is nearly impossible. It should be locatted outside of the textbox area.

Each Proxy has different Login style, as below : Server-1 : nt-domain\alan Server-2 : [email protected] Logon in IE, Firefox and my Phonecell via Wifi all are fine. But, a problem appears when we run a java application J2SE Ver 4, 5 and 6, where it needs internet authentication. Logon to Server-2 is OK, but FAIL for Server-2 (style : [email protected]).   In Real World Haskell, there is a section titled "Life without arrays or hash tables" where the authors suggest that list and trees are preferred in functional programming, whereas an array or a hash table might be used instead in an imperative program. This makes sense, since it's much easier to reuse part of an (immutable) list or tree when creating a new one than to do so with an array. So my questions are: Are there really significantly different usage patterns for data structures between functional and imperative programming? If so, is this a problem? What if you really do need a hash table for some application? Do you simply swallow the extra expense incurred for modifications?

• Getting Cabal to work with GHC 6.12.1

  I've installed the latest GHC package (6.12.1) on OS X, but I can't get Cabal to work. I've removed the version I had previously that worked with GHC 6.10 and tried to re-install from scratch. The latest Cabal version available for download is 1.6.0.2. However, when I try to build this I get the following error: Configuring Cabal-1.6.0.2... Setup: failed to parse output of 'ghc-pkg dump' From what I've found searching, this seems to suggest that the version of Cabal is too old for the version of GHC. Is there any way to get Cabal to work with GHC 6.12.1 yet? EDIT: To be clear, I'm trying to set-up cabal-install.

  Hello friends, In my project, I have so many .png images. They are working properly in Firefox but when I run my project on Internet Explorer, i get white background in that images. I have used some Image converters but they are also not giving the proper result. After converting, the resolution gets changed. So can any one suggest me some good Converter that will not change the resolution of image and will also convert the .png images to .gif images?   At the beginning of a section of C# code that could take several seconds to complete, I'd like to display a non modal form with a label that just says, "Please wait..." WaitForm myWaitForm = null; try { // if conditions suggest process will take awhile myWaitForm = new WaitForm(); myWaitForm.Show(); // do stuff } finally { if (myWaitForm != null) { myWaitForm.Hide(); myWaitForm.Dispose(); myWaitForm = null; } } The problem: the WaitForm doesn't completely display before the rest of the code ties up the thread. So I only see the frame of the form. In Delphi (my old stomping ground) I would call Application.ProcessMessages after the Show() Is there an equivalent in C#?   Good Morning, I would like to discuss today the advantages and disadvantages of using ORM (such as ADO.NET). Advantages: Speeds-up Development - eliminates the need for repetitive SQL code. Reduces Development Time. Reduces Development Costs. Overcomes vendor specific SQL differences - the ORM knows how to write vendor specific SQL so you don't have to. Disadvantages: Loss in developer productivity whilst they learn to program with ORM. Developers loose understanding of what the code is actually doing - the developer is more in control using SQL. ORM has a tendency to be slow. ORM fail to compete against SQL queries for complex queries. In summary, I believe that the disadvantages of using an ORM (mainly the reduced time taken to perform repetitive tasks) is far outweighed by the disadvantages of ORM e.g. its difficulty to get to grips with. Can people point out were I am going wrong and suggest any further advantages/disadvantages. Many Thanks, J

From what I gather I basically have 2.5 options: MSYSgit git under Cygwin (aka 2.5) MSYSgit from a Cygwin prompt (given that Cygwin git is already installed). Note: IMO Cygwin in itself is a big plus as you can have access to pretty much all the *nix command line tools, as where with MSYSgit bash, you only have access to a rather small subset of these tools. Given that, what option would you suggest?

  I'm writing an app that will create lots of JMS topic subscribers. What is best practise regarding reusing sessions? A session per subscriber? A pool of sessions? With a session per subscriber the thread count seems unreasonable. Is this a job for something like a ServerSessionPool? What I've seen so far seems to suggest that ServerSessionPool is more geared towards one receiver consuming messages concurrently rather than lots of receivers. I'm currently working with HornetQ 2.0.0GA embedded in JBoss 4.3.0CP6.

And also if the value is not selected am getting the first value id by using $("#cnty1").val(); So, please suggest me a solution so that, 1) I should get only the Selected value and 2) Value of the dropdown list Only if the user selects a value from the list, but don't get the value of the list without selecting.

I also use Eclipse IDE for my Java/Android/Python/ development because it is free, most of my peers use it, and it works. • PHP page load seems to be requesting itself and misinterpreting the result

  I'm working on a messy PHP page by another developer and I was analyzing the resource view in the Webkit developer tools and noticed that the page (index.php) makes an HTTP requests for itself and then interprets the results as an image despite it being sent with the text/html header. Because of this it throws the warning: Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/html. Looking at the time graph the call comes after the <head> because it has already requested images for the body. Sometimes there are even two 'bad' requests. Can anyone explain what might be happening and/or suggest how to fix this? Could these be related to PHP includes?

• Programmatically generate video or animated GIF in Python?

  I have a series of images that I want to create a video from. Ideally I could specify a frame duration for each frame but a fixed frame rate would be fine too. I'm doing this in wxPython, so I can render to a wxDC or I can save the images to files, like PNG. Is there a Python library that will allow me to create either a video (AVI, MPG, etc) or an animated GIF from these frames? Edit: I've already tried PIL and it doesn't seem to work. Can someone correct me with this conclusion or suggest another toolkit?
