  Hi Guys My Company is running a lots of batch jobs to process data for partners. We used to use sql server agent to execute batch process. I found it's very difficult to get batch process information like log or status when i working on sql server's agent. So I'd like to change my company's job scheduling process to another stable solution But I dind't know which solutions to choose. I tried to find as same solution as CA Autosys. My Company use window server system. We shoud consider framework or solution should be configured using solution's api because i plan to make a asp.net web application to manage our job shceduler. What kinds of job scheduler Framework or inexpensive solution do you suggest? Regards, Park PS: I think Quartz Framework has a good reputation on J2EE system. But I am not sure Quartz.NET is as good as orginal java version.

• run two apache servers on one computer

  I would like to run two XAMPP apache servers and mysql on one Windows computer. My first idea was to run one under directory XAMPP, the other under XAMPP_B. Why you ask? I have two applications that have to be in the "root" directory of localhost. Both servers do not have to be active at same time, so I don't think I will have any conflicts I will have to modify my.cnf in mySQL httpd.conf, apache_start and maybe other config files as well. Or maybe someone can suggest a better way...

  hi, I am new to Joomla and using joomla1.5.15 hosted on godaddy. Currently no new/additional compenents/extentions have been installed. I want to add a feedback form (with few text/check boxes, radio buttons etc) in my site, which should also send an email to some email id without storing information in database. • Raw socket sendto() failure in OS X

  When I open a raw socket is OS X, construct my own udp packet (headers and data), and call sendto(), I get the error "Invalid Argument". Here is a sample program "rawudp.c" from the web site http://www.tenouk.com/Module43a.html that demonstrates this problem. The program (after adding string and stdlib #includes) runs under Fedora 10 but fails with "Invalid Argument" under OS X. Can anyone suggest why this fails in OS X? I have looked and looked and looked at the sendto() call, but all the parameters look good. I'm running the code as root, etc. Is there perhaps a kernel setting that prevents even uid 0 executables from sending packets through raw sockets in OS X Snow Leopard? Thanks.

• Best way to store sales tax information

  When designing a stock management database system (sales / purchases) what would be the best way to store the various taxes and other such amounts? A few of the fields that could be saved are: Unit price excluding tax Unit price including tax Tax per item Total excluding tax (rounded to 2 decimals) Total including tax (rounded to 2 decimals) Total tax (rounded to 2 decimals) Currently the most reasonable solution so far is storing down (roughly) item, quantity, total excluding tax (rounded) and the total tax (rounded). Can anyone suggest some better way of storing this details for a generic system? Also, given the system needs to be robust, what should be done if there were multiple tax values (eg: state and city) which might need to be separated, in this case a separate table would be in order, but would it be considered excessive to just have a rowID and some taxID mapping to a totalTax column?

  i have to give the user the option to upload his own aspx and aspx.cs files on to the server, adjust the hyperlink to point to a page which would do the following display the aspx and aspx.cs files code onto the page without actually rendering the code the browser should not understand anything, and while reading the files to display them the method be such that nothing is processed on the server regarding the code within the files to prevent from unnecessary problems many user would try to cause. i have tried many ways of displaying it but it ends up on displaying the actual comments instead of the code. please suggest with links to examples how to achieve the above. please note main concentration is on asp.net and c# using vs08, so j script and ready-made tools be avoided if feasible thank you all

I need functionality like an admin panel for adding teams, creating matches between 2 teams, adding questions and answers. I then need the software to automatically display the questions, accept answers, and display and store results. Is there any software (open source/freeware) that I can use for this task. • How do I find hash value of a 3D vector ?

  I am trying to perform broad-phase collision detection with a fixed-grid size approach. Thus, for each entity's position: (x,y,z) (each of type float), I need to find which cell does the entity lie in. I then intend to store all the cells in a hash-table and then iterate through to report (if any) collisions. So, here is what I am doing: Grid-cell's position: (int type) (Gx, Gy, Gz) = (x / M, y / M, z / M) where M is the size of the grid. Once, I have a cell, I'd like to add it to a hash-table with its key being a unique hash based on (Gx, Gy, Gz) and the value being the cell itself. Now, I cannot think of a good hash function and I need some help with that. Can someone please suggest me a good hash function? Thanks

I also tried like removing whitespace, remove viewstate, optimizing code which renders it, applied GZip, I have also no heavy session variables used, but still when i compare with other popular websites it is not upto the mark. I have check CodeProject website and was surprise that even though they have lot of stuff displayed there website is loading fast and they also have good loading rate. Normally a method looks like this: public static (void/int/string) methodname((datatype) partameter) { return ...; } I had a thought whether can we implement the generics to this method like this: public static <T> methodname(<T> partameter) { return ...; } Using as a generic to define the datatype. • Correct way to detect sequence parameter?

  I want to write a function that accepts a parameter which can be either a sequence or a single value. The type of value is str, int, etc., but I don't want it to be restricted to a hardcoded list. In other words, I want to know if the parameter X is a sequence or something I have to convert to a sequence to avoid special-casing later. I could do type(X) in (list, tuple) but there may be other sequence types I'm not aware of, and no common base class. -N. Edit: See my "answer" below for why most of these answers don't help me.   Hi, I have an IDE named VxWorks 653 2.2.3 Development shell which needed to be invoked all the time when i notice any change in my source files.So i had invoked this shell through a VB scripts which invokes two more .bat(Batch files) to get this shell popped up for execution.Now i feel that since my IDE can be invoked by command line,it can also be invoked through nant scripts using the statement like D:\WindRiver\wrenv.exe -p vxworks653-2.2.3 But what i see is that its not at all invoking.I had tried all different ways but all turned out to be in vain. Can anyone pls suggest me any way either in nant scripts or in cruise control by which my IDE can be invoked.Now at present i am using VB scripts which is a very long proceess.   Is it ok to use negative margins for positioning? I have a lot in my current site and feel like it's not such a stable way to position things. I usually suggest to use them too. For example I have a checkout page with three divs on top of each other <div class="A"> header </div> <div class="B"> content </div> <div class="C"> footer </div> (A, B and C), which are meant to sit on top of each other, to appear attached. I did this using: .B { margin-top: -20px; } On div B, to meet the bottom of div A. Is this good practice or shall I re-code using top and left?

• Crystal report - Conversion from text to decimal ?

  I have a crystal report, which takes data from an XML template. For a particular field of report, say 'Cost' the database stored procedure send data to XSD file in decimal format , but when the crystal report displays data picking from XSD, it is rounded off. When i right click on other data fields of report, I can see 'Field:table1.columnname',. But when i click on 'Cost' field, it shows 'Text:'. To my understanding, this is a text field which is mapped to pick data from XSD and since the type is text, it gives result in text hence truncating the decimal. Please suggest how can I get decimals here. P.S: This code was created by someone else, so i have no idea on what they had set at that time. I have to fix it and i have no clue about it.

• Rails 3: config/initializers errors for gem configuration

  I'm trying to setup this plugin (Crumble), and the docs say I need to add a configuration file for the plugin in config/initializers/ like this (breadcrumb.rb): Breadcrumb.configure do ... end I add in my directives in that block, and reloaded the page, and I'm immediately greeted with a Passenger error: uninitialized constant Breadcrumb What am I missing here? gem list shows Crumble as installed, and if I launch IRB I can require 'crumble' successfully. I remember doing this just fine in Rails 2.3.5. Here's my setup: rails 3.0.0.beta3 ruby 1.9.1p378 (via RVM) passenger 2.2.11 (with Apache2) crumble 0.1.2 I've been trying to read the Rails 3 release notes to see if they've changed anything that would affect this, but so far I haven't found anything to suggest that the above shouldn't work. I'd appreciate any guidance you could spare me!

  I need infoWindow to be opened instead of zooming in map, when clicking on the ClusterMarker. I am using Gmaps util library MarkerClusterer for creating cluster of markers. I tried changing following line in markerclusterer.js ClusterMarker_.prototype = new GOverlay(); with ClusterMarker_.prototype = new GMarker(); so that I can get the openInfoWindow() function in the clustermarker, but that didnt worked out. Got some error. If possible, Please suggest solution so that this can be done with MarkerClusterer. Or else any other library which will be able to do this. Any help will be appreciated.

• WCF DataContract with readonly properties

  I'm trying to return a complex type from a service method in WCF. I'm using C# and .NET 4. This complex type is meant to be invariant (the same way .net strings are). Furthermore, the service only returns it and never recieves it as an argument. If I try to define only getters on properties I get a run time error. I guess this is because no setters causes serialization to fail. Still, I think this type should be invariant. Example: [DataContract] class A { [DataMember] int ReadOnlyProperty {get; private set;} } The service fails to load due to a problem with serialization. Is there a way to make readonly properties on a WCF DataContract? Perhaps by replacing the serializer? If so, how? If not, what would you suggest for this problem? Thanks, Asaf
