• How to sort a gridview once a radio button is selected

  I'm trying to sort records in the gridview right after a radio button is selected. My approach is with the dataview, but because the dataset variable doesn't survive a round trip to the server, I don't know how to make this happen. please help! My problem is that all users, even those who are not in groupA can access the /home/groupA/Public/Dropbox and see all files. I just want them to be able to put files in there but not see the content of the folder and prohibit them from deleting any files in there. Does anybody have a clue what could be the problem and how I can fix it ?

• Is it possible to force ignore the :hover pseudoclass for iPhone/iPad users?

  I have some css menus on my site that expand with :hover (without js) This works in a semi-broken way on iDevices, for example a tap will activate the :hover rule and expand the menu, but then tapping elsewhere doesn't remove the :hover. Also if there is a link inside the element that is :hover'ed, you have to tap twice to activate the link (first tap triggers :hover, second tap triggers link). I've been able to make things work nicely on iphone by binding the touchstart event. The problem is that sometimes mobile safari still chooses to trigger the :hover rule from the css instead of my touchstart events! I know this is the problem because when I disable all the :hover rules manually in the css, mobile safari works great (but regular browsers obviously don't anymore). Is there a way to dynamically "cancel" :hover rules for certain elements when the user is on mobile safari? I'm using jQuery.

• Why does Spring Security's BindAuthenticator require read permissions for users?

  Hi all, I'm currently implementing/configuring the LDAP authentication of a Java web application using Spring Security 3.0. I'm using Microsoft AD LDS as LDAP server and chose the Spring's BindAuthenticator. I found out that the authentication only works if the authenticated user is a member of the partition's Readers role. The BindAuthenticator tries to read the user's attributes after the authentication, which seems reasonable in scenarios where authorities are retrieved from the directory service. Being new to LDAP and AD, is this an acceptable practise when the application is integrated in an existing AD structure? Can fine-tune an give the user dns only read permissions for their own attributes rather than adding them to the Reader group? Thanks Thomas

• XMPP4R Callbacks dont seem to work

  Im using xmpp4r and trying to get the hang of a basic chat feature that I wish to implement later in my Rails app. My fundamentals on Ruby Threads is still a bit shaky so I would appreciate any help on this. Though I register the callback i dont get a response from my gmail account. I am able to send a message but my ruby program terminates. • How can I prevent users from taking screenshots of my application window?

  What are some methods to prevent screenshots from being taken, if any? I've considered setting the "Print Screen" button as a hotkey, which makes the window fuzzy. However, there would be the problem of other 3rd party screenshot tools. How can I prevent their use? Why would I want such a thing? The idea is to create a chat client which you can't share the chatted information with others, not by copy & paste nor by print screen... Looking for general ideas or suggestions rather than actual code.

  In my mental model of authentication, a user should be distinct from the way they log in. So for example, a User could have an associated EmailLogin (with an email/password), or they could have many (or none). Similarly they could have 0..* associated OpenIDLogin credentials. Are there any existing authentication libraries for Rails which use this method? Alternatively, is this a really terrible idea?

  I'm trying to learn Drupal 6. I want to register the path '/topic' to a MENU_CALLBACK using hook_menu().   Hi, I'm struggling to get to grips with posting a feed item to all the members of an approved application. Within the application settings for the user it is stating that the application has permission to post to the wall but I can only achieve this if that user is currently logged in to facebook. Obviously I would like this to function so that any items I uploaded are posted to all the members of the application at any one time. When I'm writing my own software I can use tools like the Object Test Bench to explore and work with my classes directly. I'm looking for something similar, but for PowerShell - and ones that avoid text-mode.
