• Eclipse c++ with mingw comiler cant build boost regex example, can find .a library files

  Hi, I'm trying to build the boost regex example in eclipse using mingw on vista. I built boost ok with mingw as there are library files XXXX.a. I could build/compile the first boost example that doesnt require any of the compiled boost libraries. When I compile the regex example I get a linker error saying it cant find the library file. I have tried various libray file names eg leave off the .a extension, leave off the lib prefix etc. Now the interesting thing is that if I leave off the library extension and rename the library file to XXX.lib it works and runs ok. So why cant it read the .a library file? It must be my setup somewhere but I dont know where or what to set. From what I read everyone is ok linking the .a file except me :( Thanks in advance, Kim

• How to preselect nodes using jsTree jQuery plug-in

  I am using the jsTree jQuery plug-in with its "Checkbox" plug-in and using an async http request to lazy-load each level of the tree. All works great, except that I cannot get the tree to pre-select certain nodes after the first level. I am using the "selected" attribute to provide an array of ID's to preselect. ID's in the top level of the tree are correctly pre-selected. However, ID's in lower levels of the tree are not selected when the level loads. Am I missing something? • onfocus with select box in scriptaculous

  I have some code like so: $('product_name').onfocus=function() { this.focused=true; }; $('product_name').onblur=function() { this.focused=false; } function getEnter(evt){ if (evt.keyCode == Event.KEY_RETURN) { if ($('product_name').focused ) { ... However, if I try to add this to a select box and change the function to an ||, it breaks. Do select boxes work differently since they can be continuously selected? .focus seemed to make a difference (brighter color when in focus). I am trying to do a search on enter if either the product_name or the select box is focused and do something else otherwise. I have it set up now so everything works except the select box. Thanks.

  Suppose I have two documents that are identical except the lines are shuffled. Is there a tool that can show me which lines in document A correspond to which lines on document B by drawing lines to connect them (kinda like Cairo does for machine translation word alignments)? What if the files have some level of differing lines (I don't want to figure out which lines are similar to each other -- if there isn't an exact match for a line, then that line has no match.) Note: I am not looking to sort the files and compare them, rather I am looking to get a visualization of how far out of order the files are relative to each other, and which particular regions tend to move together, and which tend to be shuffled.

• Help with password complexity regex

  I'm using the following regex to validate password complexity: /^.*(?=.{6,12})(?=.*[0-9]{2})(?=.*[A-Z]{2})(?=.*[a-z]{2}).*$/ In a nutshell: 2 lowercase, 2 uppercase, 2 numbers, min length is 6 and max length is 12. It works perfectly, except for the maximum length, when I'm using a minimum length as well. For example: /^.*(?=.{6,})(?=.*[0-9]{2})(?=.*[A-Z]{2})(?=.*[a-z]{2}).*$/ This correctly requires a minimum length of 6! And this: /^.*(?=.{,12})(?=.*[0-9]{2})(?=.*[A-Z]{2})(?=.*[a-z]{2}).*$/ Correctly requires a maximum length of 12. However, when I pair them together as in the first example, it just doesn't work!!   For my java program I'm using Rhino to execute JS scripts. Now I'm trying to convert it to an applet which works great, except that everytime it's calling evaluateString(...) the JVM throws an AccessControlException. After some (a lot) of research I found out that this is caused by Rhino's custom classloader. My problem is that after hours of googling I still can't find a way to stop Rhino from trying to load it's own classloader. I hope someone can help me...

• ASP.NET 2.0: Specifying an instance of an object for an ObjectDataSource

  I'm using an ObjectDataSource to bind data to a GridView; it works fine except that it always creates a new object to use as a data source. I can do all the setup just fine but I cannot use an instance of an existing object to specify as the "data source" for it. Is it possible to do this? If so, how? If it's not possible, why? EDIT: Here's the gist of what's going on (object types changed): On the first page you are editting the attributes for a dog. One of the attributes is "has puppies" and if it's true, the next page you specify the names of those puppies. What's happening in my case is that those puppies are not getting linked to the original dog but to a "new" dog. (The implication that my problem is a "female dog" was coincidental. ;-) )

  I'm building an interface for marking dates on a calendar as being booked. The user 'paints' on the dates they want to mark as booked. here's how it looks: here are the functions: function load_red_paint(){ $('td').bind('mousedown', function(){ $(this).addClass('booked'); $('td').bind('mouseenter', function(){ $(this).addClass('booked'); }); unbind_brush(); }) } function unbind_brush(){ $('td').bind('mouseup', function(){ $('td').unbind('mouseenter'); }); $('table').bind('mouseleave', function(){ $('td').unbind('mouseenter'); }); } the problem: My unbind_brush() function works great except for if the user mouseup's outside of the calendar, i tried to fix this my also unbinding on mouseleave of that calendar with this bit: $('table').bind('mouseleave', function(){ $('td').unbind('mouseenter'); }); but with no joy, am i missing something obvious?!!!

• Security Level for WebBrowser control

  I am trying to migrate an .hta application to a C# executable. Of course, since it's an .hta the code is all HTML and Jscript, with calls to local ActiveX objects. I created a C# executable project and am just using the WebBrowser control to display the HTML content. Simply renamed the .hta to an .html and took out the HTA declarations. Everything works great, except that when I make calls to the ActiveX objects, I get a security popup warning of running an ActiveX control on the page. I understand why this is happening since the WebBrowser control is essentially IE and uses the Internet Options security settings, but is there any way to get the WebBrowser control to bypass security popups, or a way to register the executable or DLLs as being trusted without having to change settings in Internet Options? Even a way to do on a deployment package would work as well.

  Hi: I'm having a problem using the UITabBarController and can't seem to get anywhere... maybe someone has run into something similar. I have the typical Tab Bar + Navigation app and everything is working great, except when I access options in the More tab. On any other tab, if I log: NSLog(@"%@ \n %@",self.selectedViewController,[self.selectedViewController viewControllers]); I get, for example: 2010-05-29 00:05:13.512 MD[9950:207] <UINavigationController: 0x4c35ad0> ( <MDViewController: 0x4c35910>, <Detalle: 0x9050e80> ) If I access an element in the More tab, I get: 2010-05-29 00:05:13.512 MD[9950:207] <UINavigationController: 0x4c35ad0> ( ) An empty viewControllers array?   Hi, I was just trying to find some comparison of the existing python web frameworks and ruby frameworks. There are few promising frameworks in python but I was not able to find a top 100 site using python except for google, which uses python extensively. Python has great frameworks but I am not able to find a really popular sites using python. Definitely most of the site would use python for background processing and stuff. On the other hand, ruby on rails has a few sites like twitter,hulu,yellowpages,scribd are present in top 100 sites. Can you mention some really popular sites using either of these languages.

• iPhone: CALayer + rotate in 3D + antialias?

  Hi all, An iPhone SDK question: I'm drawing a UIImageView on the screen. I've rotated it in 3D and provided a bit of perspective, so the image looks like it's pointing into the screen at an angle. That all works fine. Now the problem is the edges of the resulting picture don't seem to be antialiased at all. Anybody know how to make it so? Essentially, I'm implementing my own version of CoverFlow (yeah yeah, design patent blah blah) using quartz 3d transformations to do everything. It works fine, except that each cover isn't antialiased, and Apples version is. I've tried messing around with the edgeAntialisingMask of the CALayer, but that didn't help - the defaults are that every edge should be antialiased... thanks!

• Creating Windows Desktop Icon in CMake + CPack + NSIS

  I'm using NSIS package generator in CMake 2.8.1 to distribute a Qt application. Everything is working fine... except the use of CPACK_CREATE_DESKTOP_LINKS to create a desktop link to the application. I've looked through the CMake source (including it's own "bootstrap" installation definition for windows), and as far as I can tell I'm doing the same thing.   Hi I'm using Gallio\MbUnit 3.1 with ReSharper and Visual Studio 2008. Everything is working well except this type of test: [Test] [Row("test@badEmail@_test.com")] [Row("test@badEmail@_test.")] public void IsValidEmail_Invalid_Emails_Should_Return_False(string invalidEmail) { Assert.IsFalse(AppHelper.IsValidEmail(invalidEmail), "Email validation failed for " + invalidEmail); } The test doesn't complete or go in to debug mode only when I pass in a parameter E.g. 'string invalidEmail'. If I remove that prameter it seems to work normally. It will run the test if I have: [Test] public void IsValidEmail_Invalid_Emails_Should_Return_False() { var invalidName = test@badEmail@_test.com"; Assert.IsFalse(AppHelper.IsValidEmail(invalidEmail), "Email validation failed for " + invalidEmail); } I appreciate that there may be better ways to achieve this test but I'm trying to work my way through a book and this is how it's explaining things. • J2me Blackberry Numeric Input

  Hello, I am developing a blackberry application using j2me and LWUIT (blackberry port). Everything works great except for the TextField in numeric mode. Basically when you have focus on the TextField you have to first go into "NUMERIC" mode (by pressing alt + aA) in order to input, which is not user friendly and a problem. The proposed solution is to use a TextArea instead that allows you to open a NATIVE type input box. The problem there is that the user needs to focus the field and then press the fire button which again is unfriendly. Does anyone know of any simple solutions? The few solutions i have in mind (but not sure how to do them): 1) Capture any keypress on the TextArea and go into NATIVE mode, instead of just the fire key. 2) Put the blackberry input mode into numeric using code for the whole form. • ASP.NET authentication login and logout with browser back button

  Hi, I am looking for a solution for user use the browser's back button to navigate to previous page once logged out. I have a web application build in asp.net and using a custom membership provider for authentication and authorization. Everything works fine except when the user click on the logout link to log out of the application and being redirect to a default cover page, if the use click on the BACK BUTTON on their browser, it will actually go back to where they were before and the data will still show up. Of course they can't do anything on that page, click on anything link they will be redirect to a login page again. But having those information display is making a lot users confused. i am just wondering if there is any way i can either clear the browser's history so use can't go BACK, or when they click on the back button and have them redirect to the login page. thanks

  I'm looking for a fast, clean, pythonic way to divide a list into exactly n nearly-equal partitions. partition([1,2,3,4,5],5)->[[1],[2],[3],[4],[5]] partition([1,2,3,4,5],2)->[[1,2],[3,4,5]] (or [[1,2,3],[4,5]]) partition([1,2,3,4,5],3)->[[1,2],[3,4],[5]] (there are other ways to slice this one too) There are several answers in here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1335392/iteration-over-list-slices that run very close to what I want, except they are focused on the size of the list, and I care about the number of the lists (some of them also pad with None). These are trivially converted, obviously, but I'm looking for a best practice. Similarly, people have pointed out great solutions here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/312443/how-do-you-split-a-list-into-evenly-sized-chunks-in-python for a very similar problem, but I'm more interested in the number of partitions than the specific size, as long as it's within 1. Again, this is trivially convertible, but I'm looking for a best practice.

• How can I drag and drop a xaml activity to a WF4 rehosted designer?

  I understand that the WorkflowDesigner can receive a dragged item in several ways, for example: By dragging an item from the toolbox and dropping it on the designer: an empty activity of that type will be inserted on the designer at the drop location. One can also drag an activity from the designer and drop it on another location in the designer, the dragged activity will be inserted at the drop location as well. Is it possible that similar to these two drag and drop mechanism, I can drag a xaml activity to the designer? What I have in mind is this, Let's say you have a ListView containing several xaml files. I want to be able to drag one of the ListView items (ie one of the xaml files), and when I drag it over the designer it will act as if I drag something from the toolbox (except the activity will be supplied from the xaml). I know I can create a runtime Activity from the file by using ActivityXamlServices.Load(filename), and I want this activity to be inserted at the drop location. But how to tell the application to understand this when I drag and drop?

• Eclipse RCP application launcher not working properly in Arabic

  I have an RCP application which I build using the .product file and PDE. In my product file I create a binary launcher for different applications to provide convenience to the user. It all works fine except when testing in Arabic languages. In Arabic the application starts and it actually shows the Arabic characters that I mocked for testing but, it does not mirror. That said, if I invoke the launcher and pass the -nl switch launcher.exe -nl AR Then it mirrors. Also if I launch from the IDE with the target platform environment set to AR it mirrors too. I am shipping the bidi plugins for jface and swt (along with the NL plugins) and for the platform delta packs... Does anynone know what could be wrong with the laucher?

• How to retrive only one cell from MySQL table with PHP

  I'm trying to create a forgotten password form that emails users their password. I'm having a problem, though, with the actual password part. You see, I have the email and comparing the email correct, except whenever I send the email I always get either "Your password is ." or "Your password is Array". I'm using: $check_email = mysql_num_rows(mysql_query("SELECT email FROM userRecovery WHERE email = '$to'")); if($check_email == 1){ $qtip = mysql_query("SELECT password FROM userRecovery WHERE email = '$to'"); $theirPassword = mysql_fetch_array($qtip); Rest of the Code... } I used to be able to do this correctly, but I haven't done PHP or MySQL in too long so it's slightly annoying (that, and I'm at a beginner-intermediate kind of level). I remember having this exact problem, but I don't have the code with me to find out what I did. If you think I left out a detail, please say so. Any help if appreciated.

• LDAP filter not being considered

  Hi there. I am performing an LDAP search query in C like so; ldap_search_ext_s(ld, BASEDN, SCOPE, FILTER, attrs, 0, NULL, NULL, NULL, LDAP_NO_LIMIT, &res); My search performs fine except when I try to specify FILTER to be; #define FILTER "uid=*", that is, when I try to run a search for all LDAP entries with a uid. Unfortunately my code just returns the first entry for each result that it finds. So, my code might find 50 results, but will return the first entry 50 times. Can anyone suspect what I might be doing wrong here? EDIT: I am stepping through my results like so: for (msg = ldap_first_message(ld, res); msg != NULL; msg = ldap_next_message(ld, msg)) Any help is really appreciated. Ricky.

• Is this design possible with ExtJS?

  I've been asked to do the front end for a web app, and to use ExtJS specifically. I've been working through a couple of tutorials, but I've not seen much variation on the default ExtJS look and feel except for some subtle changes to the colors and what not. The design I've been handed seems to be a radical departure from the standard ExtJs look and feel. So before I head down a dead end or start chasing wild geese, I wondered wether any ExtJS experts out there could point out any potential pit falls in the design, or is everything do-able? • Properties in partial class not appearing in Data Sources window!

  Entity Framework has created the required partial classes. I can add these partial classes to the Data Sources window and the properties display as expected. However, if I extend any of the classes in a separate source file these properties do not appear in the Data Sources window even after a build and refresh. All properties in partial classes across source files work as expected in the Data Sources window except when the partial class has been created with EF. EDIT: After removing the offending table for edm designer, adding back in it all works are expected. Hardly a long term solution. Anyone else come across a similar problem?

I am trying to calculate bandwidth consumption, (bytes transferred in and out) using C#, described Here using the MS Log Parser. In the above case, if the log files are deleted by the user or any administrator even, the bandwidth calculation will not be possible. Q1: *What is the standard way to measure the Bandwidth for various Hosting accounts (of websites) on a single server?* Q2: *If Log parser mechanism (as described above) is used, then how to take care of the security issue? Is there some system directory or event viewer logs or something which cannot be deleted except by the System account and contains bandwidth data?* Please point me in the right direction. Thanks

How can I make it work and honor all settings that generally work for tooltips (except the timing, obviously)?
