  • Install Shield 2009 Premier, Uninstall doesn't close the process/gui

    My application (developed using C#.net) is open now i uninstall, InstallShield gives message stating the application is already open and whether really want to close the application. Selection 'Ignore' continues uninstall. Some files and the exe of the application are not closed. How to close them by installshield on uninstall. Or there are some properties I have to set. I know adding a custom action at uninstall i can kill the process, but shouldn't installshield do it?

  • GUI Freezes and Output to JTextField from user input

    I am having I hope only two issues currently. I have had help on this on a previous question that I have asked but now I am running into different issues. My current issues now is that I need to print out into a JTextField a sorted array. I do not have questions about how to sort the array I just would like help on how to get the array to print to the JTextField when the Bubble Sort button is pressed. Currently when I press the button it freezes.     I want to design an app that launches other sub-apps. Main View will contain 4 buttons. Clicking on each button respectively will launch the other sub-apps. Each sub-app will have a UITabBarController which has its own different views. At any point I want the user to be able to go back to the Main View from any of the sub-apps. I am not sure how to design this in IB.

So i m looking for a free .NET framework that offers the possibility to easily integrate a finger friendly interface for Windows Mobile 6 Pro . Any ideas ? EDIT : Finger friendly means big icons, big buttons , scrollable screens with a simple touch of the thumb... Because the Winforms in Compact framework are made for the stylus, not fingers !!

You can't do a decorate design pattern if: 1) The object is marked "sealed" meaning you can't extend from it. 2) or you want to override a method but its not virtual. What can you do then?     We have an external data provider which, in its construtor, takes a callback thread for returning data upon. There are some issues in the system which I am suspicious are related to threading, however, in theory they cannot be, due to the fact that the callbacks should all be returned on the same thread.     Hi, I'd like to iterate through every element on an iTunes window and try to click on each element. I'd also like to write to a text file showing each element that I've clicked.   • Which MS technologies would be suited for a data intensive application?

    I'm a junior VB.net developer with little application design knowledge. I've been reading a lot of material online regarding different design patterns, frameworks, and methodologies. It's become a bit confusing for me. Right now I'm trying to decide on what language would be best suited to convert an existing VB6 application (with SQL server backend.) I need to update the UI and add more user functionality and reporting capabilities. Initially I was thinking of using WPF and attempting the MVVM model for this big project. Reports would be generated from SSRS. A peer suggested using ASP.net and I don't have enough experience to determine what would be better. The senior programmers here are stuck on using VB6 and don't have any input on what to use. They are encouraging me to use the latest technologies. This application would be for ~20 users in a central location. Ideally I would stick to a Microsoft .net language. Current interface is similar to a datagrid table where the user would click in to see the detail of each record. They would need to have multiple records open at any given time. Internal clients within an intranet How complex are the interactions you expect to implement? not very... displaying data from SQL server to UI. Allow user updates to said data. Typically just one user modifying a record. Yes, windows xp environment, potentially upgrading to Win7. Currently in IE.6 moving to IE7 or 8 within a couple of months. Do users need access from anywhere? No, just from their PC.

  • Fix a font size for .NET GUI

    Hi, Depending on the font settings (DPI and such) on the user's computers, I can have text become too big to fit in a button and moves down to the next line (wrap), so if it is a small button that says "Do xyz", it will only show "Do" unless I increase the height on the user's computer, but it looks fine on mine. Is there any way to force it to stick to original font size?

However, on my local machine the text boxes appear correctly (example [TextBox1] [TextBox2] [TextBox3] [TextBox4] [TextBox5] [TextBox1] [TextBox2] [TextBox3] [TextBox4] [TextBox5] [TextBox1] [TextBox2] [TextBox3] [TextBox4] [TextBox5] When I run this app on the production, the output side-by-side is: [TextBox1][TextBox1] [TextBox2][TextBox2] [TextBox3][TextBox3] [TextBox4][TextBox4] The output should be one row of textboxes, then a second row of 5 text boxes Anyone experience this?
