You can scribble and scratch, much like in the REPL, but with all the goodness added by the IDE as a whole (refactoring, saving, error checking, etc). When you create a worksheet, it is created with the .sc extension, and also creates a artifact under a hidden directory called .worksheet. This is all fine and dandy, but should one include these in your public .git repositories? People who does not use Scala IDE (or older versions) may find these files confusing. Summary Advisor intelligently recommends an optimal list of aggregate tables based on query patterns that will achieve maximum query performance gain while meeting specific resource constraints. Summary Advisor then generates an aggregate creation script that can be run to create the recommended aggregate tables. Aggregate tables reduce query times by storing precomputed results for queries that include rolled-up data. This tutorial covers steps to set up, configure, and run Summary Advisor on an Exalytics machine using TimesTen database as a target for storing aggregates.   I am a java developer (web app and standalone applications) who knows JavaScript, HTML, CSS and has mostly worked on Web applications. I have no knowledge of C/C++ or any other lower level languages. I feel like I should strengthen my CS basics by learning a fundamental language. Should it be C or C++? I am also inclined to learn Objective-C. Does it need basics of C or C++? Or should I go for new languages like Python, Google's Go etc. I know this is a cliche question asked very frequently, but I can use some help here.

• installed 12.04 fine. updated graphics driver. now solid puprle screen.

  Purchased a new msi ge 70 series labtop. nvidia card gtx 765m. updated driver after install, and ran update manager. All seems well. restarted as required. Now i have a solid purple screen, even if i use boot menu to recovery mode. all i can do is access grub menu 3.10. live cd will run but i get purple screen and cant see choices. please help and im still learning ubuntu. noob talk prefered. i hate making more mistakes. Thanks also tryed changing lines of kernal code using "e" on boot menu, nomodeset and the like. not helping. any way to fix problem through grub?

Basically I want the comment lines and blank lines to be ignored during the processing of the lines in the file. Thanks for your help.

• PLS HELP!!How to boot windows 7 after installing ubuntu 12.10?

  Im new to linux and im interested in learning it so I installed ubuntu 12.10 yesterday. Installation went smoothly and i chose "install alongside windows option" and I set about 50 gb using that slider and i tot i used 50 gb from c: drive but to my shock it used 50 gb space from f: drive. This was my first shock.Then when i restarted n tried to log into windows, nothing happened a black screen appeared saying "To restart press alt+ctrl+delete" but even pressing that it wont restart. No matter how many times i try rebooting windows is not booting same black screen saying restart appears. But i can log in to ubuntu and i can see that windows c: drive is fine. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

• How do you deal with transitions in animating walking?

  I'm pretty new to this whole animating models thing. Just learning the ropes. I got a nice walking animation going, which I can loop while a character is walking, but what about when they stop walking? I mean, they could be at any point in the animation at the time the player stops walking. How do I get them to smoothly return to a standing still position without having them snap into that position? The same goes for starting walking from a standing still position. Do you need a separate animation? How is this dealt with?

  I've started learning bash scripting by using this guide: http://www.tldp.org/LDP/abs/abs-guide.pdf However I got stuck at the first script: cd /var/log cat /dev/null > messages cat /dev/null > wtmp echo "Log files cleaned up." What do lines 2 and 3 do in Ubuntu (I understand cat)? Is it only for other Linux distributions? After running this script as root, the output I get is Log files cleaned up. But /var/log still contains all the files.

  I've been programming in PHP for about a year and am at the following stage: Have a good 'feel' for the language Can create CRUD applications competently Can utilize an MVC structure to allow for future expansion of code Using the points listed above, I've created a number of my own applications for practise - including but not limited to; a forum, social network etc. My question may be a little vague but should hopefully be answerable. I feel as though there isn't anything else I would need to know about PHP to allow me to create websites, though I'm sure I'm wrong. What advanced/complex PHP topics could I look at that have a real-world use and will allow me to enhance both my skill as a programmer and applications in general? Recently I've looked a lot more at javascript/jQuery allowing me to give my applications a richer user interface which has been a great learning experience and proving very useful.

  I am a computer science student, and as a result, I was taught C++ as a better version of C with classes. I end up trying to reinvent the wheel whenever a solution to a complex problem is needed, only to find sometime after that, some language feature or some standard library routine could potentially have done that for me. I'm all comfortable with my char* and *(int*)(someVoidPointer) idioms, but recently, after making a (minor) contribution to an open-source project, I feel that is not how one's supposed to think when writing C++ code. It's much different than C is. Considering that I know objected-oriented programming fairly well, and I am okay with a steep learning curve, what would you suggest for me to get my mind on the C++ track when I'm coding C++?

  I wanted to ask your opinion on anti-depressants, since I took them daily for 3 years now, but I can't be sure if I'm less perfomant with them or without, since I never withdrawed. I'm still at school at the age of 25, still having some motivation problems (for example I can't get used to do something at school if I don't think it will teach me something), but I'm quite motivated to work in the video-game field, since I have some personnal projects in mind. I know C++ programming etc, I'm still learning techniques, but do you think I should try more to do my project instead of just following the work I'm assigned to ? Have you had experience with depression or anti-depressants ? How did it affect your work ? Do you think that being depressed or half-depressed can improve creativity ?

• Good tutorial resources for creating 2D character sprite?

  I am planning on learning how to create 2D character sprite by myself and making a game using RPG Maker VX Ace. I've been searching for the tutorial of making approx. 32x64 size human character sprite but haven't been able to find one close enough. Most tutorials I've found are either really general or creating sprites that are way too complicated. FYI I wish to learn how to make this type of characters by myself: not too complicated, fit for a small fan-made game made by RPG Maker. Ideally, I wish to learn from the stage of character sketch until realizing the character using photoshop or other kinds of tools (I have some foundations of visual art, it's just that I am not sure how to sketch a character this small).
