• Using regular expressions with Dojo data.fetch?

  I'm trying to use the below code to fetch a regular expression like this /[computer]{3,8}/(what i think is any words containing the letters in computer ranging from 3 to 8 letters long) from a database (which i know is being loaded correctly). When i fetch, i get 10 results, all the same word... • Conversion of Single to two UInt16 values in .net

  In the good old days of C. I could cast a float to an int (assuming 32 bit system), do some bit manipluation ( bitwise and, right shift, ect ), and get the upper and lower 16 bit hex representations of the floating point number, which I could then store in two short values. I'm not seeing an easy way of doing this in C#. System.Convert.ToUInt16 just does a float to int convert (even after I shift right), which leaves a vlaue of 0 if the float is less than 0, which is not the desired effect. //useless leaves me witg a value 0f 0 UIN16 s1 = (UInt16)((System.Convert.ToUInt32(d2) & 0xffff0000) >> 16); //capture the high word UInt16 s2 = (UInt16)(System.Convert.ToUInt32(d2) & 0xffff); //capture the low word A basic cast (UInt32) doesn't work either.

• Resetting a while loop

  I have found a confusing thing in a php script I am writing to generate some javascript. Here it is below, slightly simplified. The second while loop won't run unless I comment out the entire first while loop. Can anyone explain why? • How to combine two 32-bit integers into one 64-bit integer?

  I have a count register, which is made up of two 32-bit unsigned integers, one for the higher 32 bits of the value (most significant word), and other for the lower 32 bits of the value (least significant word). What is the best way in C to combine these two 32-bit unsigned integers and then display as a large number? In specific: leastSignificantWord = 4294967295; //2^32-1 printf("Counter: %u%u", mostSignificantWord,leastSignificantWord); This would print fine. When the number is incremented to 4294967296, I have it so the leastSignificantWord wipes to 0, and mostSignificantWord (0 initially) is now 1. The whole counter should now read 4294967296, but right now it just reads 10, because I'm just concatenating 1 from mostSignificantWord and 0 from leastSignificantWord. How should I make it display 4294967296 instead of 10?

• fastest way to perform string search in general and in python

  My task is to search for a string or a pattern in a list of documents that are very short (say 200 characters long). However, say there are 1 million documents of such time. What is the most efficient way to perform this search?. I was thinking of tokenizing each document and putting the words in hashtable with words as key and document number as value, there by creating a bag of words. Then perform the word search and retrieve the list of documents that contained this word. From what I can see is this operation will take O(n) operations. Is there any other way? may be without using hash-tables?. Also, is there a python library or third party package that can perform efficient searches?

They all work correctly by themselves, but when I put them together in the main function, the last one that finds the smallest word in a string gives an error.   I have a tab delimeted file that I want to convert into a mysql table. there are 25 tab delimeted fields in the text file. I can get the values in when I construct the SQL statement word by word and get each value individually stated in the VALUES part but when I try to get the list as a whole it does not work. Here is the code. I couldn't figure it out.   I am using the DPAD controls to highlight text in android text-widget. I am wondering is there is any way that when i highlight the text, it selects it also. Right now when i highlight and try to bring the context menu, the first context menu I get is the one with options to select word, select all etc. and when i do select word, it selects the entire region highlighted(which is okay , but i wanted it to select while am highlighting) so that i could get the cut/copy and paste context menu directly. Any tips? Thanks a lot.

When I was testing my code the rename part didn't work because the log file TestPro.log was open by the TAF (Test Automation Framework). When TestPro is running and I try to delete the file I get the error "Cannot delete because is being used by another person or program." • How to check if windows has automatic updates waiting from the command line?

  If a Windows server (2k3/2k8) is set to "download but not install" updates, is there a way to check from the command line.. perhaps a log file or something I can check with powershell, to see if there are any updates actually waiting to be installed? I'm trying to prevent having to manually log on to each server to check, even though they want the "trigger" pulled manually. We have an automation system in place I can use (CA Autosys) - just not sure what to have it look for.
