• iPhone SDK Point to a specific location

  Hi, I'm trying to develop an application that use the GPS and Compass of the iPhone in order to point some sort of pointer to a specific location (like the compass always point to the North). The location is fixed and I always need the pointer to point to that specific location no matter where the user is located. I have the Lat/Long coordinates of this location but not sure how can I point to that location using the Compass and the GPS... any help will be appreciated. Netanel

  About a month ago I saw a portfolio website in Flash that featured a stack of cards, and each time you clicked on it, they sort of blew all over the place, thus exposing the backs as videos and pictures. Although I could easily take a bunch of 3D planes and tween them to turn and flip, these cards actually seemed to 'bend'. How is this effect achieved? Sorry I don't have the link to the example. • Settings.bundle Not Appearing on Application Updates

  I have an app that does not currently use a Setting.bundle to display setting in the iPhone Settings app. I am releasing an update that does. On a fresh install, the settings are added to the Setting App as expected, but upon updating from the old install, the bundle is not added. • Windows PE - Where and how are strings stored if not in resources?

  Usually strings (like content/titles of dialog boxes) in .exe files are stored in some sort of resources. But in some recent exes I disassembled/resource-inspected I couldn't find any resources containing the string but it was somehow hardcoded with db's into the program source code. How can I extract and modify strings directly located in the program? I assume those are just the equivalent to const char*s in C++? Why would someone not "outsource" the contents of dialog boxes, menus, etc?

• BS in CS. Are specializations worth it?

I was thinking about getting two of them since they are sort of on the way to my degree anyway. They are Software Engineering and Programming Languages and Compilers . Would these specializations actually be useful in finding a job? Would employers even care about them?

  Hi, This might be an easy one, but I'm not really experienced with sql. I have a table with two user_id columns, user1 and user2. This table contains some compared values between the two users. I want to send in an user id, and return all the id's from the other user when the sent user is either user1 or user2. I guess some sort of if test would do the trick, but I don't know how to do this in SQL. Cheers

  We're using AmazonS3 for file storage and recently found out that we need to keep some sort of directory structure. Since S3 doesn't allow that, we know we can name the files according to their structure for storage. For example... abc/123/draft.doc What I want to know is if I want to provide a public link to this particular file is there anyway that the file can simply be draft.doc instead of abc/123/draft.doc ?
