  • Permissions error for a signed Java applet when including external JAR files

    I have a signed Java applet. And it works fine. But now I have to integrate some 3rd party JAR files with it. When I test it from Eclipse, the whole thing works correctly. But when I test it as an applet, it gives me a FilePermission error. I thought this was because those 3rd party JAR files don't have a java.policy.applet within them. But manually adding the policy file doesn't get rid of the error. What am I missing? Thanks! ============================ All the 3rd party JAR files sit on the server filesystem like so: A.jar, B.jar, C.jar. And I include them in the applet tag like so: <applet archive="my.jar,A.jar,B.jar,C.jar"> </applet> Also, in the MANIFEST/MANIFEST.MF file in my.jar, I include those JAR files like so: Class-Path: A.jar,B.jar,C.jar

  • C++ include header conventions

    Suppose I have a file X.h which defines a class X, whose methods are implemented in X.cc. The file X.h includes a file Y.h because it needs Y to define class X. In X.cc, we can refer to Y because X.h has already included Y.h. Should I still include Y.h in X.cc ? I understand that I don't need to and I can depend on header guards to prevent multiple inclusions. But on the one hand, including Y.h makes X.cc a little more independent of X.h (can't be completely independent of course). What is the accepted practice? Another example: including <iostream> in both .h and .cc files. I see some people do this and some don't.

    I need to write a script that retrieves all files that were committed for a given SHA1. I have difficulty getting a nice formatted list of all files that were part of the commit. I have tried: git show a303aa90779efdd2f6b9d90693e2cbbbe4613c1d Although listing the files it also includes additional diff information that I don't need. I am hoping there is a simple git command that will provide such a list without me having to parse it from the above command.

  • While in CMD shell, copying files from host OS to guest VM locks files (VMware Player/Workstation)

    We're running the latest versions of VMWare Player and Workstation for Windows. The following behavior is identical across both products. Problem: We open a CMD prompt in our guest OS (XP, Vista, Windows 7) and copy files from our host OS using the standard CMD shell copy command: copy z:\C$\testfiles The copy completes successfully, but from that point forward, all the files that were copied to our guest OS are now LOCKED on our host OS. This does not happen if we use Windows Explorer to copy files - it only happens when files are copied via the CMD shell. As mentioned at the start of this question, this behavior is reproducible in both VMWare Player and VMWare Workstation across multiple machines and multiple guest OS's. I've googled for a workaround, but without success. Any ideas appreciated. Malcolm

  • Keep Uploaded Files in Sync Across Multiple Servers - LAMP

    I have a website right now that is currently utilizing 2 servers, a application server and a database server, however the load on the application server is increasing so we are going to add a second application server. The problem I have is that the website has users upload files to the server. How do I get the uploaded files on both of the servers? I do not want to store images directly in a database as our application is database intensive already. Is there a way to sync the servers across each other or is there something else I can do?     I'd like to be able to have multiple "sets" of open files in netbeans but i didn't find a way or plugin to do it. Say i have 5 file related to "bug xyz" but i want to start working on feature "abc". Instead of having 10 files open i'd like to be able to say "create new set of files" and work on those and switch back and forth. Is there some way it netbeans to achieve this ?

  • Emacs: Changing the location of auto-save files

    I've currently got: (setq backup-directory-alist `((".*" . ,temporary-file-directory))) (setq auto-save-file-name-transforms `((".*" ,temporary-file-directory t))) in my .emacs, but that doesn't seem to have changed where auto-save files get saved (it has changed where backup files get saved. M-x describe-variable shows that temporary-file-directory is set to /tmp/, but when I edit a file called testing.md and have unsaved changes, I get a file called .#testing.md in the same directory. How can I make that file go somewhere else (e.g. /tmp/)? I've had no luck with these suggestions, so any suggestions welcome! If it helps, I'm on GNU Emacs 23.3.1, running Ubuntu.

  • PowerPoint 2010 won't open any files.

    Recently I installed Office 2010 BETA on my friend's laptop after recommending it to her. The problem is, whenever she tries to open files in powerpoint it claims that there is a problem with them and it can attempt to repair them, when you click repair it just says there was a problem with the file and it can't open it. The exact same .ppt files work fine on my copy of PowerPoint 2010 (we sent the file from her laptop to mine via MSN) so I'm confused as to why they won't work just on her laptop. Any insight into this would be fantastic :) Thanks.

  • Share files - Ubuntu 12.4 and Windows 7 - one network - password not accepted

    I have three machines - two with windows 7 and one with Ubuntu 12.4 version. There are in the same network connected by modem. The two machines shares file with no problem, but they can not see the machine with Ubuntu. On the other hand, I am able to see the share files of the windows machines from the Ubuntu's Network. When I select a folder, it wants the network password - I changed it several times in order to be sure that I am entering the correct one but in every case it says that the password is wrong. I have read some topics about files sharing between Linux and windows in which it is said that I should use samba, but is there a more easy way to do this, using the build it options?

    I have two zip archives. Say, set1 has 10 csv files created using Mac OS X 10.5.8 compress option, and set2 has 4 csv files similarly created. I want to take the 4 files from zipped archive set2 and add them to list of files in archive set1. Is there a way I can do that? I tried the following in Terminal: zip set1.zip set2.zip This adds the whole archive set2.zip to set1.zip, i.e., in set1.zip now I have: file1.csv, file2.csv,..., file10.csv, set2.zip What I instead want is: file1.csv, file2.csv,..., file10.csv, file11.csv, ..., file14.csv where, set2.zip is the archive containing file11.csv, ..., file14.csv.   • Is using .h as a header for a c++ file wrong?

    Is using .h as a header for a c++ file wrong? I see it all over the place, especially with code written in the "C style". I noticed that Emacs always selects C highlighting style for a .h header, but c++ for hpp or hh. Is it actually "wrong" to label your headers .h or is it just something which annoys me? EDIT: There is a good (ish) reason why this annoys me, if I have project files labelled, 'hpp & cpp' I can get away with 'grep something *pp' etc. otherwise I have to type '.h cpp'

  • ftp connects but files aren't visible browsing

    Hello If this should be on that other site, please don't shoot me, as I can't remember the name or the url. I have an ftp account in Dreamweaver that connects to the remote site and appears to be uploading files as normal. But when I browse to the location I can't see any new files or changes to the index page. (I've uploaded index.php and connect.php). I'm getting a 404 page. I suspect the host directory is wrong, but looking at the file tree, I can't see the folder I'm supposed to be using, so I'm uploading to the apparent site root. Any guidance on this?

    My bash scripting knowledge is very weak that's why I'm asking help here. What is the most effective bash script according to performance to find and copy files from one LINUX server to another using specifications described below. I need to get a bash script which finds only new files created in server A in directories with name "Z" between interval from 0 to 10 minutes ago. Then transfer them to server B. I think it can be done by formatting a query and executing it for each founded new file "scp /X/Y.../Z/file root@hostname:/X/Y.../Z/" If script finds no such remote path on server B it will continue copying second file which directory exists. File should be copied with permissions, group, owner and creation time. X/Y... are various directories path. I want setup a cron job to execute this script every 10 minutes. So the performance is very important in this case. Thank you.

  • Looking for a way execute a task on all files in a directory (recursively) on Windows

    I have a huge number of mp4 video files that needs to have a volume boost. I need a way to execute a ffmpeg audio filter on all files in a specified base directory (and in subdirectories as well). My problem is that I'm working on a Windows computer and I have no knowledge of its shell syntax. I would like to do the equivalent of what this bash script does : TARGET_FILES=$(find /path/to/dir -type f -name *.mp4) for f in $TARGET_FILES do ffmpeg -i $f -af 'volume=4.0' output.$f done I spent quite some time this afternoon looking for a solution but the recursive nature of what I need (that is so simple with find!) isn't too clear.     Is it possible to play a .m3u file streamed from a remote location through Flash Player in a browser? I have a player that loads and plays .mp3 files but also want to be able to play .m3u files. I have looked at the as3plsreader on google code but I think this is only for AIR and desktop files. anyone tried this or know where I should start looking for an answer? If I wasnt to use flash, what other ways could I get remote m3u files to play in a browser?

  • Which is faster in memory, ints or chars? And file-mapping or chunk reading?

    Okay, so I've written a (rather unoptimized) program before to encode images to JPEGs, however, now I am working with MPEG-2 transport streams and the H.264 encoded video within them. Before I dive into programming all of this, I am curious what the fastest way to deal with the actual file is. Currently I am file-mapping the .mts file into memory to work on it, although I am not sure if it would be faster to (for example) read 100 MB of the file into memory in chunks and deal with it that way. These files require a lot of bit-shifting and such to read flags, so I am wondering that when I reference some of the memory if it is faster to read 4 bytes at once as an integer or 1 byte as a character. I thought I read somewhere that x86 processors are optimized to a 4-byte granularity, but I'm not sure if this is true... Thanks!
