  • New Windows 7 Libraries created keep disappearing

    I've just got a new laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 7 Professional edition. One of the new features of Windows 7 is Libraries. I'm familiar with how this works and am trying to create my own library called 'Work' to include all my work folders on my computer. However every time I create a new custom Library, after I rename it, it disappears from my Library menu. Each time I click Libraries in the Explorer, I keep seeing the same 4 default libraries, I.e. Documents, Pictures, Music, and Video. So when I try to create a new Library called 'Work' again, I get a pop up message "Do you want to rename New library to Work (2).Library-Microsoft?" Which means that my original work library still exists but for some reason I can't see it. Can someone please help me figure out why this is happening?

    Hey guys, I am trying to use the Jets3t library within an Android application, and I keep getting errors with the Rest service when I use the library. 04-27 16:47:39.491: ERROR/S3Service(225): Couldn't initialize a sax driver for the XMLReader I have tried to include the Xerces library and the Crimson library, and it dont play well. I get this error: Attempt to include a core class (java.* or javax.*) in something other than a core library. It is likely that you have attempted to include in an application the core library (or a part thereof) from a desktop virtual machine. This will most assuredly not work. At a minimum, it jeopardizes the compatibility of your app with future versions of the platform. It is also often of questionable legality. If you really intend to build a core library -- which is only appropriate as part of creating a full virtual machine distribution, as opposed to compiling an application -- then use the "--core-library" option to suppress this error message. Is there something I can do to get it working ?

    I define a method inside a parametrized role that needs to create a new class at run time using Moose::Meta::Class->create and apply that exact parametrized role to it. I am also making a new method for that role using $new_class->meta->add_method( some_name => sub { my ($self) = @_; ... }) inside the sub {...} I want to access a method of the consumer class and use it for something, I have tried using $self->get_method, it didn't work, how do I do this? Please notice that the $self inside the sub above is MooseX::Role::Parameterized::Meta::Role::Parameterizable I also have another question, if I do this: my $object = Moose::Meta::Class->create( "some_type", ); Why isn't $object of type some_type and it's some ugly MooseX::Role::Parameterized::Meta::Role::Parameterizable and how do I get to the object of type some_type?

    For example, ISerializable and the Serializable Attribute are both in the System.Runtime.Serialization namespace, but not the assembly of the same name. On the other hand, DataContract attributes are in the namespace/assembly System.Runtime.Serialization. This causes confusion when a class can have using System.Runtime.Serialization but still not have reference to the System.Runtime.Serialization assembly, meaning DataContract cannot be found. Should this be avoided in practice, or is it common for namespaces to be split over multiple assemblies? What other issues should one be careful of when doing this?

  • Debugging .NET 2.0 assembly from unmanaged code in VS2010?

    I’ve run into a serious snag trying to debug a .NET 2.0 assembly that is called from unmanaged code in Visual Studio 2010. I maintain a host of components that using COM interop and custom .NET runtime hosting and ever since installing Visual Studio 2010 I’ve been utterly blocked by VS 2010’s inability to apparently debug .NET 2.0 assemblies when launching through unmanaged code. Here’s what I’m actually doing (simplified scenario to demonstrate): I have a .NET 2.0 assembly that is compiled for COM Interop Compile project with .NET 2.0 target and register for COM Interop Set a breakpoint in the .NET component in one of the class methods Instantiate the .NET component via COM interop and call method The result is that the COM call works fine but the debugger never triggers on the breakpoint. If I now take that same assembly and target it at .NET 4.0 without any other changes everything works as expected – the breakpoint set in the assembly project triggers just fine. The easy answer to this problem seems to be “Just switch to .NET 4.0” but unfortunately the application and the way the runtime is actually hosted has a few complications. Specifically the runtime hosting uses .NET 2.0 hosting and apparently the only reliable way to host the .NET 4.0 runtime is to use the new hosting APIs that are provided only with .NET 4.0 (which all by itself is lame, lame, lame as once again the promise of backwards compatibility is broken once again by .NET). So for the moment I need to continue using the .NET 2.0 hosting APIs due to application requirements. I’ve been searching high and low and experimenting back and forth, posted a few questions on the MSDN forums but haven’t gotten any hints on what might be causing the apparent failure of Visual Studio 2010 to debug my .NET 2.0 assembly properly when called from un-managed code. Incidentally debugging .NET 2.0 targeted assemblies works fine when running with a managed startup application – it seems the issue is specific to the unmanaged code starting up. My particular issue is with custom runtime hosting which at first I thought was the problem. But the same issue manifests when using COM Interop against a .NET 2.0 assembly, so the hosting is probably not the issue.     Say I define an abstract My::Object and concrete role implementations My::Object::TypeA and My::Object::TypeB. For maintainability reasons, I'd like to not have a hardcoded table that looks at the object type and applies roles. As a DWIMmy example, I'm looking for something along these lines in My::Object: has => 'id' (isa => 'Str', required => 1); sub BUILD { my $self = shift; my $type = $self->lookup_type(); ## Returns 'TypeB' {"My::Object::$type"}->meta->apply($self); } Letting me get a My::Object with My::Object::TypeB role applied by doing the following: my $obj = My::Object(id = 'foo') Is this going to do what I want or am I on the entirely wrong track? Edit: I simplified this too much; I don't want to have to know the type when I instantiate the object, I want the object to determine its type and apply the correct role's methods appropriately. I've edited my question to make this clearer.

I have to build a OpenCV project which was made in VS2005 by one of my colleagues into VS2008. The project is for blob detection. Following is what he has to say in readme : Steps to use the library (using MSVC++ sp 5): 1 - open the project of the library and build it 2 - in the project where the library should be used, add: 2.1 In "Project/Settings/C++/Preprocessor/Additional Include directories" add the directory where the blob library is stored 2.2 In "Project/Settings/Link/Input/Additional library path" add the directory where the blob library is stored and in "Object/Library modules" add the cvblobslib.lib file 3- Include the file "BlobResult.h" where you want to use blob variables. 4- To see an example on using the blob library, see the file example.txt inside the zip file. NOTE: Verify that in the project where the cvblobslib.lib is used, the MFC Runtime Libraries are not mixed: Check in "Project-Settings-C/C++-Code Generation-Use run-time library" of your project and set it to Debug Multithreaded DLL (debug version ) or to Multithreaded DLL ( release version ). 2 Check in "Project-Settings-General" how it uses the MFC. For example, I can use {if}, {foreach}, or {assign} tags without any problems. But whenever I try to use {html_select_date}, {html_image}, or {html_table}, I get the errors. In case this matters, the programmer who is designing the plugin copied the openXWorkflow plugin and made some changes. I noticed that the openXWorkflow plugin has a file (openx/plugins_repo/openXWorkflow/www/admin/plugins/openXWorkflow/library/OX/UI/Smarty/SmartyCompilerWithViewHelper.php) with a class that overrides the default Smarty compiler, supposedly with the ability to compile shorthands for calling ZF view helpers. That file has a list of Smarty functions, but the list is incomplete. If I add the functions to the list, or simply delete the file, my template works fine, but I don't like to change library files. It may make the app hard to maintain, and I don't know if it will mess up something else. The file has the comment "There is no easy access to the list of Smarty's built-in functions so we need to list them here. HTML-specific functions are not included as we cover HTML generation separately.", so it seems like certain Smarty functions may be disabled on purpose for some reason. Will anything bad happen if I try to use them? If, for example, I want to use the {html_select_date} tag in my template, how would I go about doing that? Keep in mind that much of this stuff is new and unfamiliar to me. This is my first time ever using OpenX or Smarty, and I only have a little bit of experience with the Zend framework. Please let me know if we are using the wrong approach.

  • Is there a standard Java utility to parse XSD files at runtime?

    I've been looking around for a way to programmatically parse XSD files to generate an XML mapping so that I can take any XSD file and create a parser that will parse any XML file that conforms to it, and my google-fu has been coming up short. XSOM looks promising, as it will parse an XSD file and make all its attributes available in a straight forward way. Are there any other options or standard libraries available that will produce an XML file parser from an XSD file? [Conclusion] Thanks everyone for your responses, they were a real help. I was able to write implementations using JAXP, Eclipses EMF and in XSOM that all worked as desired. JAXP was very straight forward and easy to learn and do. EMF was actually a pain to get going properly, there were so many jars that had to be included for it to work standalone that I would not recommend it. XSOM was even simpler than the JAXP implementation, so I went with it in the end.
