• Using WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application doesn't show me any information

  I am trying to use WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application (I have the latest WPFPerf that should work on WPF 4.0 aps). I start the tool Visual Profiler from WPFPerf, I start my aplication, but after that nothing happens and the element tree from the Visual Profiler is empty. No other error message is shown. Can anyone tell me what am I not doint right? As an additional information, when I try to analize my .exe assembly or any other assembly from my application, I get a BadFormatException saying that the assembly was build with a newer version of .NET. From the download page http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=191420 I see that this version of WPFPerf should be ok for my app

• UITableView backgroundColor always gray on iPad

  Hi, When I set the backgroundColor for my UITableView it works fine on iPhone (device and simulator) but NOT on the iPad simulator. Instead I get a light gray background for any color I set including groupTableViewBackgroundColor. Steps to reproduce: Create a new navigation-based project. Open RootViewController.xib and set the table view style to "Grouped". Add this responder to the RootViewController:- (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor]; } Select Simulator SDK 3.2, build and run. You will get a black background (device and simulator). Select your target in the project tree. Click on Project : Upgrade Current Target for iPad. Build and run. You will get a light gray background. Revert the table view style to Plain and you will get a black background. Thanks for your help!

  What is the best way to do complex reporting on subversion logs like the following for each file? file, directory, last revision date, previous revision date(where revision date is at least 30 older than last), days diff(between revision dates) Since Subversion allows on revision to change multiple files I assume svn log needs to be run against each file individually. Ideas (that don't seem very good): Shell scripting to produce a csv file to be imported to a DB. The following is a start but doesn't show the filename: find . -name "." -print | xargs -l svn log -l 2 Shell scripting to produce XML and then use XSLT to create CSV to import to a DB. It might use a similar command to above but would still have some of the same limitation. Write a program to just parse the log on the whole directory tree, make one insert to DB per revision/file combination, and then query the DB.

• How to retrieve all the records from a Berkeley DB in Ruby

  I'd like to be able to get all the key-values stored in a Berkeley DB using the Ruby bindings from http://github.com/mattbauer/bdb/tree/master but I'm not sure how to proceed. • JMeter to grab full querystring into a variable for future use

  Someone provided me the regex to parse out a query string: (?<=\?)[^?]+$ I am trying to use that in JMeter with no luck (although I am successful in pulling out individual query string parameter values based on various example postings on the web). I created a regular expression extractor called "Grab QueryString". I selected the URL response field to check. For the reference name, I typed "myQueryString". For the regular expression, I entered your text. For template, I entered $1$ Match no = 1 Default Value = ERROR Unfortunately, "myQueryString" is getting populated with ERROR and not the URL query string as hoped when I try and use it as a parameter in a future GET. Thus, I see this in the "View Results Tree": https:/www.website.com/folder/page.aspx?ERROR Instead of: https:/www.website.com/folder/page.aspx?jfhjHSDjgdjhsjhsdhjSJHWed Did I do something wrong? Anyone have any suggestions?

  I have a WPF application which runs as a excel plugin, it has its visual tree like so Excel ElementHost WPF UserControl WPF ribbon bar control Now any controls sitting on the WPF ribbon bar control are not enabled when the plugin is loaded within excel. See error below System.Windows.Data Error: 4 : Cannot find source for binding with reference 'RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType='System.Windows.Window', AncestorLevel='1''. BindingExpression:Path=IsActive; DataItem=null; target element is 'Ribbon' (Name=''); target property is 'NoTarget' (type 'Object') If I nest the ribbon bar control in a standalone Window(outside excel) it works fine. Is there a way to intercept the FindAncestor call for a Window and wire it to something else.? Note that I cannot change the above binding as it isn't my control.

  I've chosen JQuery as my JavaScript library but now I'm a bit frustrated by the JQuery plugin site... the site kinda sucks... the plugin area isn't designed very well and I can only find a few treeviews. The one with the most votes (link text) isn't supported anymore. Can someone please point me to an industrial strength treeview? Desired Features: 1. stable 2. async / ajax would be nice 3. drag and drop nodes would be nice I've been delighted so far with JQueryUI--nice design. But, how come it doesn't come with a standard tree view? Pete

• Text mining with PHP

  Hi, I'm doing a project for a college class I'm taking. I'm using PHP to build a simple web app that classify tweets as "positive" (or happy) and "negative" (or sad) based on a set of dictionaries. The algorithm I'm thinking of right now is Naive Bayes classifier or decision tree. However, I can't find any PHP library that helps me do some serious language processing. Python has NLTK (http://www.nltk.org). Is there anything like that for PHP? I'm planning to use WEKA as the back end of the web app (by calling Weka in command line from within PHP), but it doesn't seem that efficient. Do you have any idea what I should use for this project? Or should I just switch to Python? Thanks

• How to Animate a Gradient on a Path to visualize data flow in WPF/WCF app

  I have an interesting project where several "nodes" on a cnavas are connected via a Path similiar to a mindmap tree. The path is used to visualize the connection state between two nodes. Red means the nodes are disconnected, green means they're connected. The next step would be to illustrate data flow (from A to B or B to A) using that path and an animation. Basically I would want to start the animation with the data transfer and stop it when the transfer is complete. Does anyone know how this could be done in WPF?

  I am having trouble binding a Command that is generated up the UI tree to a control. The following example illustrates my point, the CommandBinding in Grid does not act on the InputBindings in Window.   I've got a problem with the Entity Framework and the ForeignKeys. I've got a table "BC_Message_Assets" which has 3 FK's (MessageId, AssetId and StatusId). I create my "MessageAsset" like this MessageAsset messageAsset = new MessageAsset(); messageAsset.MessageStatusReference.EntityKey = new EntityKey("MyEntities.MessageStatusSet", "Id", 1); messageAsset.AssetReference.EntityKey = new EntityKey("MyEntities.AssetSet", "Id", 1); messageAsset.MessageReference.EntityKey = new EntityKey("MyEntities.MessageSet", "Id", messageId); context.AddToMessageAssetSet(messageAsset); context.SaveChanges(); But I got the following exception : The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint \"FK_BC_Message_Assets_BC_Assets\". The conflict occurred in database \"Test\", table \"dbo.BC_Assets\", column 'Id'.\r\nThe statement has been terminated. When I look at the query, I notice that the parameter value for AssetId is "0" despite that I provided "1" to the EntityKey. Here's the generated query : exec sp_executesql N'insert [dbo].[BC_Message_Assets]([MessageId], [AssetId], [CompletionTime], [StatusId]) values (@0, @1, null, @2) ',N'@0 int,@1 int,@2 int',@0=47,@1=0,@2=1 I can't explain what happens.   Hey, I've downloaded the android source code for CallLog, Contacts, Dialing in this link http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/packages/apps/Contacts.git;a=tree But now, when I try to import this package on Eclipse, imports like: com.google, com.android.internal.Telephony, com.android.internal.R, com.google.android.collect, android.provider.ContactsContract.Intents.UI, android.provider.ContactsContract.SearchSnippetColumns, android.provider.ContactsContract.ProviderStatus, android.provider.ContactsContract.ContactCounts, android.content.IContentService, android.provider.ContactsContract.Intents.UI And many other imports, show errors saying it cannot be resolved. So my question is, why it shows this errors? Why I cant implement it without this errors? I use the Google APIs, I've created the project from an existing source code, but I dont know why this happens. Thanks.

• z-Index overlay in google maps version 3

  Hi, I'm trying to get an overlay in google maps api v3 to appear above all markers. But it seems that the google api always put my overlay with lowest z-index priority. Only solution i've found is to iterate up through the DOM tree and manually set z-index to a higher value. Poor solution. • cascading combo box causing empty fields in next record

  Hi there, I'm having problems with a cascading combo box. Everything works fine with the combo boxes and the values get populated correctly. Everything works fine and dandy moving between records and the boxes show the correct fields for each record. When i use the first combo box, and then select the appropriate option in the second combo box, everything works great on the specific record. However when I move to the next record, the values in the second combo box are all empty. If i close the form and reopen it, and avoid using the cascading combo boxes all the values are all correct when i move between records. Somehow using the cascading combo boxes creates a conflict with the row source of the secondary combo box. Hope that is clear! • Sub-classing TreeView in C# WinForms for mouse over tool tips

  Ok, this is a weird one. The expected behaviour for a TreeView control is that, if ShowNodeToolTips is set to false, then, when a label for a tree node exceeds the width of the control (or, more accurately, it's right hand edge is past the right hand edge of the client area), then a tooltip is shown above the node showing the full item's text. I'd like to disable that, because the above semantic doesn't always work, depending on what the treeview is contained within. So I have rolled my own, and got the tooltips to work (and line up better than the default one!) - but I would like to be able to disable the 'default' behaviour for situations where it would work natively. So, can anyone point me in the right direction as to which message to post to the TreeView in order to disable that behaviour? I have looked at the windows control reference, but couldn't find anything that looked like it might be the one. Thanks Matt

• SQL server recursive query error.The maximum recursion 100 has been exhausted before statement completion

  I have a recursive query that returns an error when I run it; in other databases (with more data) I have not the problem. In my case this query returns 2 colums (ID_PARENT and ID_CHILD) doing a recursion because my tree can have more than one level, bit I wanna have only "direct" parent. NOTE: I tried to put OPTION (MAXRECURSION 0) at the end of the query, but with no luck. The following query is only a part of the entire query, I tried to put OPTION only at the end of the "big query" having a continous running query, but no errors displayed. • Common lisp error: "should be lambda expression"

  I just started learning Common Lisp a few days ago, and I'm trying to build a function that inserts a number into a tree. I'm getting an error, * - SYSTEM::%EXPAND-FORM: (CONS NIL LST) should be a lambda expression From googling around, it seems like this happens when you have too many sets of parenthesis, but after looking at this for an hour or so and changing things around, I can't figure out where I could be doing this. • Opening a local file in Eclipse from the web

  Right now, when I notice a problem on a page on my PHP web site, I have to look at the URL, mentally deduce what file is responsible for displaying that page, then navigate the Eclipse PDT file tree to open that file. This is annoying and uses brain power that could have been applied to solving the issue instead. I would like my PHP web site to display on every page a link that I could click to automatically open the correct file in Eclipse. I can easily compute the complete absolute path for the file I need to open (for example, open C:/xampp/htdocs/controllers/Foo/Bar.php when visiting /foo/bar), and I can make sure that Eclipse is currently open with the correct project loaded, but I'm stuck on how I can have Firefox/Chrome/IE tell Eclipse to open that specific file.

  So I have a stored procedure called Spr_EventLogCreate defined in my database. I have created a function import in my data model called LogEvent with no return type, and I can see this function in the Model Browser tree at MyModel.edmx MyModel EntityContainer Function Imports LogEvent. I thought I should then be able to call the function in my code as follows: var context = new MyModelEntities(); context.LogEvent(...); But the LogEvent() method is not present. I must be being really stupid here, but how do I call my imported function? Using VS 2008 and EF 3.5.

  I have a project which uses a large library residing in its own repository. Using: Tortoise-SVN, the server is running an enterprise edition of VisualSVN The project itself has the "standard" structure: trunk tags branches In each branch, tag, and trunk is the library, set as an external (svn:external property). If I get the entire tree, I get the library several times, which is just getting too ridiculously repetitive. Is there a recommended structure for this? Or perhaps a way not to get all externals (because other externals are much smaller, easier to manipulate)?

  I'm trying to create a simple Java app that uses JNI to call some native functions. I've followed the examples in the JNI Programming Guide and can't seem to get them to work. I have the following Hello World program, written in Java: class HelloWorld { private native void print(); public static void main(String [] args) { new HelloWorld().print(); } static { System.load("/home/mike/Desktop/libHelloWorld.so"); } } I compile it using javac HelloWorld.java, just like normal. Then I run javah -jni HelloWorld, and finally the following: gcc34 -shared -fpic -o libHelloWorld.so -I/<path to JDK>/include -I/<path to JDK>/include/linux HelloWorld.c gcc34 is the name of the GCC program on my machine here at work (I don't control that) and I obviously place the real path to the JDK in that command. When I run my program, using the standard java HelloWorld, I get an error saying the following: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/mike/Desktop/libHelloWorld.so: /home/mike/Desktop/libHelloWorld.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 (Possible causes: architecture word width mismatch) at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:1778) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1674) at java.lang.Runtime.load0(Runtime.java:770) at java.lang.System.load(System.java:1003) at HelloWorld.<clinit>(HelloWorld.java:8) Could not find the main class: HelloWorld. Program will exit. I know I'm running a 32-bit JVM (and unfortunately, as of right now, I'm not allowed to get a 64-bit JVM). I tried telling GCC to compile in 32-bit mode using the "-m32" option, but we don't have (and again, can't get) what we need for that. Does this sound like a 32/64-bit conflict or something else?
