My question is on which connection should I enable "Internet Connection Sharing"? Is it on LAN Connection'Settings > Advanced of Ad-hoc network Connections' Settings > Advanced ?     I've had this problem numerous times when trying to install software in WINE, now I've come to the point where I have to install something in WINE. Installing the program works fine, as soon as I go to run it however I get the message Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime. Runtime Error I have installed the above package using wine tricks, but still nothing. Have goggled to try and find if I am missing Dependencies or anything obvious, but after that I am stuck.     I am thinking to write my Master's thesis around theorizing, and then implementing a PlayMaker or Kismet-like (building game logic by visually arranging FSMs) tool in Unity. The only thing I am still concerned about is the actual research question that I should pose. I was kinda hoping that the more experienced game designers out there might know. As soon as I enable it for location ~/cgi-bin it gives me a 404 error when I try to look it up. How can I solve this? I thought about restricting access to only my second server where I then add basic authentication over a proxy, but there must be a simpler solution. Sorry for the bad title, I couldn't think of a better one.

  • Expected visual behavior of notifications (gnome metacity)

    I sometimes see notification popups on the right of the screen that specify things like network connectivity status changes mainly. I don't understand their expected visual behavior in that: It would appear that sometimes, when you move your mouse close to them, they disappear to reappear when you move away. It does not appear to be possible to ever click on them or hide them in any way, they generally just flicker, often in a in determinant way. Is the flickering perhaps caused because every flicker is in fact a unique notification?
