• JDBC Licensing - Packaging jdbc in jar

  Hi there. I'm packaging my open-source non-commercial java application in a .jar and I'd like to package the JDBC mysql-connector with it as it is a dependency. The issue that I am having is that I'm uncertain whether or not this is frowned upon or even illegal due to the JDBC license. I've also got the jdbc mysql-connector jar in my code repository. -- Has anyone been in the same situation? Thanks in advance.

  Is it possible to use the Biztalk adapter pack whithout a Biztalk installation (biztalk license is available)? I want to use the Biztalk Adapter for SAP to do RFC calls within a .NET Application (as a replacement of the SAP Connector for .NET, which is unfrotunately no longer maintened by SAP and I don't want to use third party products).   I have a developer license and I've generated .mobileprovision and .cer files. I've put the provision file on my device, double-clicked the .cer file and added it to the login keychain. But when I'm trying to build the app in XCode, I get the error: CodeSign error: code signing is required for product type 'Application' in SDK 'Device - iPhone OS 3.1.3' What am I doing wrong?   I have found several open-source/freeware programs that allow you to convert .doc files to .pdf files, but they're all of the application/printer driver variety, with no SDK attached. I have found several programs that do have an SDK allowing you to convert .doc files to .pdf files, but they're all of the proprietary type, $2,000 a license or thereabouts. Does anyone know of any clean, inexpensive (preferably free) programmatic solution to my problem, using C# or VB.NET? Thanks!

  Given the following information Public Enum Request As Byte None = 0 Identity = 1 License = 2 End Enum Protected mType As Communication.Request mType = Communication.Request.Identity Debug.Print (BitConverter.GetBytes(mType).Length.tostring) 2 Why does bitconverter report that mType is a length of 2. I would have thought that passing a Byte into BitConverter.GetBytes would just return the Byte. I mean it's no big deal because it's only sending a very small block of data across a TCP Socket, but I'm just intrigued why it thinks it's 2 bytes.

Is that still the valid answer in 2010 or are there other IDEs one should consider (cost/ OS it runs on / stability)? I'm trying to get a feel for silverlight development before commiting cash. So I don't need enterprize level tools or a license to distribute .. Would MonoDevelop and Moonlight be an option?
