  (Silverlight 3) Is there a pre-existing (preferably free, even better if open source) method (either a control or source code) for dragging a "marching ants" style selection on an image in a ScrollViewer or on a Canvas, similar to how it's done in image editing software? • Which versions of NLog work with VS2010 RTM?

  Taking a look at NLog, it's unclear what version works with VS2010. It says that NLog 1.0 Refresh works with VS2010 beta but nothing else is indicated. There's an NLog 2.0 that is pre-beta that I'd rather not use if I didn't have to but it clearly does work with VS2010. So I'm wondering if I'm able to use 1.0 Refresh or do I need to go with 2.0 Preview 2?

  Hello All, If I define something in a pre-compiled header like: #define __BUILD_MAC__ and then in a header file do: #ifdef __BUILD_MAC__ typedef void* HINSTANCE; #endif This should work. But for some reason It isn't. I know because when I compile I get errors about HINSTANCE not naming a type. Do I need to do anything else to make these defines available?

• Microsoft Report Viewer Control not displaying report

  I have built a simple report and run it successfully in test winform apps but when I try to run the same report in my production winforms application, the report just doesn't show up in the viewer. I look at the ReportViewer control after InitializeComponent and everything looks fine. Are there debugging techniques or gotcha's that might be able to point me to why the report is not showing. It feels like there should be an error of some sort but it just displays a blank form.

  How can I put a hard disk drive in stand-by or sleep mode in Windows, in a programmatic manner. Does the Windows API or any .Net libraries provide any functions to achieve this? (I am aware that I should probably not interfere with Windows's power management mechanism, but this is not something I intend to use in a production environment, it is a proof of concept for some algorithms).

So I'm curious if I should save the PDF into JPG's and render them out with the data on top of the image and re-create a PDF.   Given an Oracle Merge statement with a rejection limit, is there a shorthand way to identify how many rows were rejected, without being forced to query the rejection destination? The rejection destination has records pre-merge, so would currently have to be counted twice and the difference taken, but it seems like there should be a counter exposed, given that it has to be aware of whether it has exceeded the rejection limit.
