  • Call private method in Flex, Actionscript.

    I need it in FlexUnit to test private methods. Is there any possibility to do this via reflection by using describeType or maybe flexUnit has some build in facility? I dislike artificial limitation that i cannot test private functions, it greatly reduces flexibility. Yes it is good design for me to test private functions, so please do not advise me to refactor my code. I do not want to break the encapsulation for the sake of unit testing.

    hi guys, i am writing a little music-game for the iphone. I am almost done, this is the only issue which keeps me from rolling it out. any help to solve this is much appreciated. this is what i do: at my appDelegate I add my menu-view-screen to the window. the menu-view-screen acts as a container and controls which view gets presented to the user. means, on the menu-view-screen I got 4 buttons (new game, options, faq, highscore). when the user clicks on a button something as this happens: if (self.gameViewController == nil) { GameViewController *viewController = [[GameViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"GameViewController" bundle:nil]; self.gameViewController = viewController; [viewController release]; } [self.view addSubview:self.gameViewController.view]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(handleSwitchViewNotificationFromGameView:) name:@"SwitchView" object:gameViewController]; when the user returns to the menu, this piece of code gets executed: [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] removeObserver:self]; [self.gameViewController viewWillDisappear:YES]; [self.gameViewController.view removeFromSuperview]; this works fine for all screens but not for the gamescreen(well this is the only one with heaps of user-interaction) means the responsiveness of the iphone(when playing tones) gets really slow. The performance is fine when I display the gameview for the first time. it starts getting slower as soon as I add it to the menu-views-container-subviews again (addsubview) (basically open up a new game) any ideas what causes(or to get around) this? thanks heaps Best regards Tom

BUT if I add 'this-hello();' to the index() function it throws a 500 error. Why does it happen and how can I resolve this? Thank you in advance.

    I was searching for a way to insert an ellipsis in a C# path, and found an answer here on stackoverflow: http://tinyurl.com/y6rmdfr Using the RTM versions of VS2010 and .Net 4.0, I was unable to get the suggested method to work. I searched the 'Net and found example code that uses the same method, but it failed in the same way. You can see the string I'm trying to shorten in my code below. After calling the MeasureText method, both the input string (OriginalName) and the output string (ellipsisedName) look like this: d:\abcd\efgh\ijkl\mnop\qrst\...\test.txt\0F\GHIJ\KLMN\OPQR\STIV\WXYZ\test.txt Two problems: 1) The resulting string is narfed (the path is truncated as expected, but is followed by what looks like a C-style terminating null and a chunk of the original path). 2) My original string is changed to be identical to the output string. However, I am not able to get hold of "some text 1" since it is directly contained within the td and using .text() on td will give me both "some text 1" as well as "some text 2". Any idea?

    Hi, I have an SVN repository on my hosted server (linux), and I need to do local work on them on my windows machine (tortoise svn installed). To simplify my question, the dir structure looks like: root |--------sub1 |--------sub2 |--------sub3 ... |--------subN with additional subfolders under each subX. Say I only want certain sub-subfolders of "sub1" and "sub3" under version control. But on windows, when I commit a change with tortoisesvn, I still want to be able to right click the root folder, hit commit, and have any changes that exist anywhere under root in any selected folders to be committed. The problem is, I think using ignore would be very cumbersome, since there would be so many folders to ignore, at different levels of structure. So basically, I want to put the whole thing under version control, and then tell svn "ok, now ignore everything except X and Y". What is the easiest way to accomplish this? Thanks, Jonah
