  • Executing certain code for every method call in C++

    I have a C++ class I want to inspect. So, I would like to all methods print their parameters and the return, just before getting out. The latter looks somewhat easy. If I do return() for everything, a macro #define return(a) cout << (a) << endl; return (a) would do it (might be wrong) if I padronize all returns to parenthesized (or whatever this may be called). If I want to take this out, just comment out the define. However, printing inputs seems more difficult. Is there a way I can do it, using C++ structures or with a workaroud hack?

  • gdb: SIGTRAP on std::string::c_str() call

    So I've been trying to use gdb to return the value of a string I have by calling > print <member variable name>.c_str() But everytime I do so, I get this: Program received signal SIGTRAP, Trace/breakpoint trap. <some address> in std::string::c_str() from /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 GDB remains in the frame where the signal was received. To change this behavior use "set unwindonsignal on" Evaluation of the expression containing the function (std::string::c_str() const) will be abandoned. Two questions: Why/how is the standard library throwing SIGTRAP? I checked basic_string.h and c_str() is defined as: const _CharT* c_str() const { return _M_data(); } I don't see any SIGTRAP-throwing here... is there a way to get around this SIGTRAP? How can I read the text value of the std::string out (without getting some crazy extension library) in gdb?

  • Exception calling remote SOAP call from thread

    This is an extension / next step of this question I asked a few minutes ago. I've a Delphi application with a main form and a thread. Every X seconds the thread makes a web services request for a remote object. It then posts back to the main form which handles updating the UI with the new information. I was previously using a TTimer object in my thread, and when the TTimer callback function ran, it ran in the context of the main thread (but the remote web services request did work). This rather defeated the purpose of the separate thread, and so I now have a simple loop and sleep routine in my thread's Execute function. The problem is, an exception is thrown when returning from GetIMySOAPService(). procedure TPollingThread.Execute; var SystemStatus : TCWRSystemStatus; begin while not Terminated do begin sleep(5000); try SystemStatus := GetIMySOAPService().GetSystemStatus; PostMessage( ParentHandle, Integer(apiSystemStatus), Integer(SystemStatus), 0 ); SystemStatus.DataContext := nil; LParam(SystemStatus) := 0; except end; end; end; Can anyone advise as to why this exception is being thrown when calling this function from the thread?   • Jquery Cycle Lite plugin unable to see images that have been loaded by an AJAX call

    Hi, I am having problems using the jquery cycle lite plugin on some images that are added via AJAX. However the prev/next buttons don't work. When I load the images via static HTML the slideshow prev/next links works fine. (I just copied and pasted the generated HTML.) I understand I need to use something like .bind or .live to make the Cycle plugin 'see' the new images. I have tried everything I can think of but I can't make it work. What am I doing wrong ?

    I'm having real difficulty with a query involving 3 tables. I need to get the 3 newest users per department grouped by department names. The groups should be sorted by the users.dateadded so the department with the newest activity is first. The users can exist in multiple departments so Im using a lookup table that just contains the userID and deptID. My tables are as follows.   • Powershell call web service on new email event (Exchange 2010)

    I have Exchange 2010 and I need to run a process using web services against every new email to come in to a mailbox. The process will basically add the email to an internal task list. Can I use Powershell for this? Having never used Powershell before I don't really have a clue on it's capabilities. If not can anyone suggest another way of doing this other than monitoring the mailbox every X seconds. Really I'd like it event based so if no new mail then no processing. Cheers, Mike

  • Suppressing the language select button iPhone

    I'm working on an application now that contains an account register section. One field with secureTextEntry = NO (for registering only). The idea is this make registration faster and hopefully increases the number of signups. It's simple enough for me to just place a regular UITextField but if the user has any additional language keyboards then it's possible for the user to enter non-password friendly characters. Unlike in when secureTextEntry = YES. I know I can do textField.keyboardType = UIKeyboardTypeASCIICapable to get the text field to display the ASCII keyboard first, but the user will still have the keyboard switch button which will allow them to get to undesirable characters. Is there a simple method for suppressing the international button or forcing ASCII only keyboard with no international button? [EDIT] Another perhaps better option might be to suppress multi byte keyboards or even to display the text in the case that secureTextEntry = YES any ideas here? [EDIT AGAIN] I've decided it's a really bad idea to suppress the international button as non-multibyte characters should all be allowed.

    I am having a problem with selecting a certain child node. What I want to achieve: I you have this treeview for example (one parent with two child nodes): Parent -Child with a value 5 -Child with a value 2. I want to add these two values and assign them to Parent node: Parent result 7 -Child 5 -Child 2. Of course, a bigger treeview would have several parents and lots of children and they will all add up to one root node. How can I do this?? pls help. thx, Caslav

Now, I'm trying to connect to the PHP script within JS with no results. Please Wait"; } What I want to do is when the app has finsihed loading I want to change the preloaders text to "configuring". Then I want to go and do a bunch of setup stuff in my code. Once I've done all the setup I wanted how can I get the Preloader to dispatch its Event.complete from else where in my code? I tried Application.application.preloader but it comes up null. So I guess my question really is how to access a preloader from anywhere in my application. Would a better approach be to have all setup classes as members of my preloader class?

If it's in mycode.js, it's not. Every code example I've see seems to says this should work. What am I doing wrong?

    I have developped an application that has a list of items in one frame; when one clicks on an item it does something in another frame (loads an image). This used to work fine in all browsers, including Chrome 3; now it still works fine in FF but in recent versions of Chrome (I believe since 4) it throws this error: Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL (...) from frame with URL (...). Domains, protocols and ports must match. This is obviously a security "feature" but is it possible to get around it? Here is a simple test: index.html: <html> <frameset> <frame src="left.html" name="left"/> <frame src="right.html" name="right"/> </frameset> </html> left.html: <html> <body> <a href="javascript:parent.right.test('hello');">click me</a> </body> </html> right.html: <html> <body> <script> function test(msg) { alert(msg); } </script> </body> </html> The above works in FF 3.6 and Chrome 3 but in Chrome 5 it throws the above error...

This is just a pseudocode kind of example: f (x,y) { y = y+1; x = x+y; } main() { a = 2; b = 2; f(a+b, a) print a; } When accessing variable x in f, does it access the address of the temp variable which contains the result of a+b or will it access the individual addresses of a and b and then evaluate the value of a+b Please help. I could do one first, or two it doesn't matter. However it should matter as the draw order is important. How do you (using Moq) ensure methods are called in a certain order? Edit I got rid of that test. The draw method has been removed from my unit tests. I'll just have to manually test it works. The reversing of the order though was taken into a seperate test class where it was tested so it's not all bad. Thanks for the link about the feature they are looking into. I sure hope it gets added soon, very handy.
