  • WinXP 64bit cannot see files on dfs

    Hi, I have Server1 Win2008 Storage Server Running DFS Access-based enumeration - off Offline settings - disabled Workstation1 WinXP SP3 32bit Workstation2 WinXP SP2 64bit I have a shared folder on Server1 on the DFS share. Workstation1 can see all files and folders. Workstation2 does not. I have tested with multiple WinXP 64bit PCs and the same files across these machines do not show up. Going directly to the files via the address bar works.

  • Can't get basic web servers working on EC2 RedHat

    I'm trying to get some basic Python web servers (Flask, Tornado) turned up on the EC2. On the Amazon-flavored Linux AMI (Amazon Linux AMI 2013.03.1) they work no problem, but the same web servers installed on the RedHat quicklaunch AMI (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4) don't work at all- All I get is connection failure errors when I try to browse to them. Both these servers share the same security group, with the relevant ports (5000, 5010) open, so I'm trying to understand why RedHat would not be not working.

  • DVD won't play in Ubuntu Jaunty after codes and css support has been added.

    Using Totem Video Player v2.26.1 on Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04, dvd's won't play after I've installed libdvdread4, added the Medibuntu packages, and run sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh If I click on the dvd I get an error *"Could not read from resource". If I navigate to one of the videos directly and run it, the movie will play, but with obvious degradation or encryption (like cable tv you aren't paying for).

  • OS X wants to back up Macintosh HD to itself

    From time to time, OS X (10.6) will ask me if I want to perform a backup of my Macintosh HD, but the backup destination is obviously the HD itself. I have not plugged in any external device, nor is there a Time Capsule network share. A message like this will appear: Moreover, the Macintosh HD will suddenly have a Time Machine icon in Finder. Has somebody experienced the same and could help me identify how to stop OS X from using its own disk as the backup destination?

However after 1 hour suddenlt i can't access my shares , it asks me the password and then when i enter it it does not allow me and say access denied. Then i try mmc.exe on server it say The application has failed to start because MS.dll was not loaded How can i fix the problem. Can i re-install the MMC

  • How can I view locking on a file on a file?

    Hi all, We have a database file (foxpro) on a Windows share (2003 server), we're having some problems where the program that writes to this file has to retry as the file is locked, this all happens very quickly and within a few seconds the file is available but the problem is it shouldn't be locked. Does anyone know how we can view what's locking it? Any tools available? Thanks James

    When I telnet to my server thats running postfix and try to send an email: MAIL FROM:<[email protected]> #=> 250 2.1.0 Ok RCPT TO:<[email protected]> #=> 554 5.7.1 <[email protected]>: Relay access denied I couldn't really find the answer on the site or by looking at other users question/answers, I'm not sure where to start. Ideas? Update So basically looking at the docs: http://www.postfix.org/SMTPD_ACCESS_README.html (section: Getting selective with SMTP access restriction lists), I don't seem to have any of those directives in etc/postfix/main.cf like smtpd_client_restrictions = permit_mynetworks, reject or any of the other ones, so I'm quite confused. But really I'm going to have a rails app connect to the server and send the emails, so I'm not sure how to handle it.   • Can't install "Docky" theme?

    So to install a theme for Docky on Ubuntu I had to extract the theme from the Archive Manager via root to /usr/local/share/docky/themes. I did this but it didn't show up in the theme choices. Then I tried just pressing the install button and locating it but I couldn't see the tar file. I then extracted the tar file to the desktop and tried selecting that to install but nothing. What am I doing wrong!?

I have added $ to share name to hide it from other users, but actually this is not solution because such shares can be easily discovered by other OS or some tools on Win.   • Windows 7 File shares randomly not accessible from OSx

    Hello Everyone!, My setup is I have a windows 7 computer acting as a file server. All my computers can connect to it fine including my mac. The problem is that randomly the mac will get kicked off the file share (even when i am in the middle of using it) and will not be allowed to reconnect to it until i reboot the windows 7 machine. (Rebooting the mac doesn't help) Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen?
