• Get Category in Wordpress Post

  OK I have a standard post here: http://www.ticketyoda.co.uk/concerts/rihanna-tickets/rihanna-tickets-manchester-2013-06-12-united-kingdom/970 I am trying to make each post unique and contain the category information for both the city (Manchester) and the Artist (Rihanna). At the moment the box underneath the venue contains the information taken from the category (see breadcrumb). So I have 1 out of 2. What I need now is for an extra box below to show the category information for the Artist. I use : <?php $category = get_the_category(); echo $category[0]->category_description; ?> to get the first category. You can see the rihanna description under the posts here: http://www.ticketyoda.co.uk/concerts/rihanna-tickets/ Any help appreciated.

• GWT Strength compared to other framework??

  One of the main strength of GWT is to code in java and everything gets compiled and is loaded by several browsers through gwt deferred binding?? Apart from this, i.e. working only on a single code base, do GWT has any other advantage compared to other existing framework?? Edit: I'm trying to say why should we use gwt and not another framework?? What is there in GWT that makes it special for web application development?? What GWT makes for us and another framework or toolkit don't do?? As i said above GWT makes deferred binding which is a plus, so I wanted what other things it do that makes it special and unique??

• General question: Filesystem or database?

  Hey guys, i want to create a small document management system. there are several users who store their files. each file which is uploaded contains an info which user uploaded it and the document content itself. In a view there are displayed all files of ONE specific user, ordered by date. What would be better: 1) giving the documents a name or metadata(XML) which contain the date and user (and iterate through them to get the metadata) or 2) giving the files a random/unique name and store metadata in a DB? something like this: date | user | filename What would you say and why? The used programming language is java and the DB is MySQL.

• Oracle curcular join sometimes give duplicates, but sometimes does not

  By mistake I wrote a query like this: select * from a,b,c where a.col=b.col and b.col2=c.col2 and c.col3=a.col4 So there is a circular join here. Now the thing is sometimes this query returns duplicate result, sometimes it returns unique(correct) results. I am trying to understand why it does not give duplicate results always. Also if circular joins are not allowed, how come Oracle does not throw an error. EDIT: This is the actual query. After reading ti carefully, I am not sure anymore if this is a circular join or not.It does not seem so...but why I get duplicates only sometime? select * from a,b,c,d where a.col=b.col and b.col=c.col and c.col2=d.col2 and d.col2 =a.col2

• Referencing text input fields in CKEditor dialogs

  Hi, I've been playing around with this for a couple of weeks now with no success... In a CKEditor dialog, text input fields are renamed with a unique number - e.g. id: 'txtUrl' will become something like id='27_textinput'. How do I reference this? // I feel it should be something like: var myfield = CKEDITOR.instances.myElement.document.$.body.getId('txtUrl'); // or maybe: var myfield = CKEDITOR.dialog.getContentElement('info','txtUrl'); // and then: myfield.value = 'myvalue'; But these don't work. I want that i give users option to share the image. every image will have unique url so they can share image on facebook,twitter , do i need to put images with their url in mysql database or you do it in cloud? user will write text and then script will convert it to image and show it as image. then i want to provide user that he/she can share their created image. • Looping over some selected values in a stored procedure

  I'm trying to modify a stored procedure hooked into an ORM tool. I want to add a few more rows based on a loop of some distinct values in a column. Here's the current SP: SELECT GRP = STAT_CD, CODE = REASN_CD FROM dbo.STATUS_TABLE WITH (NOLOCK) Order by STAT_CD, SRT_ORDR For each distinct STAT_CD, I'd also like to insert a REASN_CD of "--" here in the SP. However I'd like to do it before the order by so I can give them negative sort orders so they come in at the top of the list. I'm getting tripped up on how to implement this. Does anyone know how to do this for each unique STAT_CD?

• Can the Sequence of RecordSets in a Multiple RecordSet ADO.Net resultset be determined, controlled?

  I am using code similar to this Support / KB article to return multiple recordsets to my C# program. But I don't want C# code to be dependant on the physical sequence of the recordsets returned, in order to do it's job. So my question is, "Is there a way to determine which set of records from a multiplerecordset resultset am I currently processing?" I know I could probably decipher this indirectly by looking for a unique column name or something per resultset, but I think/hope there is a better way. P.S. I am using Visual Studio 2008 Pro & SQL Server 2008 Express Edition.

  Dear experts, I would like to implement a API of Javascript that sort of resemble a light switch. For instance, there are two buttons on the actual HTML page act as the UI. Both of the buttons have event handlers that invokes a different function. Each function have codes that act like a state, for instance. button1.onclick=function (){ $("div").click( //code effects 2 ) } button2.onclick=function (){ $("div").click( //Code effects 2 ) } I the code works fine on the surface but the 2 state functions overlap. the effects is going to take place for the rest of the way until the next reload of the document. Basically what I want to achieve is that when 1 button is clicked, it will switch "OFF" the state of function invoked by the other button and vice versa. Thus, the effects achieved are unique are not overlapped. Is there anyway to achieve this or could any experts point me to the right direction. Thanks in advance.

• What's the best way to implement one-dimensional collision detection?

  I'm writing a piece of simulation software, and need an efficient way to test for collisions along a line. The simulation is of a train crossing several switches on a track. When a wheel comes within N inches of the switch, the switch turns on, then turns off when the wheel leaves. Since all wheels are the same size, and all switches are the same size, I can represent them as a single coordinate X along the track. Switch distances and wheel distances don't change in relation to each other, once set. This is a fairly trivial problem when done through brute force by placing the X coordinates in lists, and traversing them, but I need a way to do so efficiently, because it needs to be extremely accurate, even when the train is moving at high speeds. There's a ton of tutorials on 2D collision detection, but I'm not sure the best way to go about this unique 1D scenario.

  I'm somewhat new to jQuery, so I could use some help here. This is my issue: I have a php script outputting a dynamic table. Each row has an "edit" button, plus some other fields. Only 3 of those need to be turned into an input box. The edit button should only put that specific row into "edit mode." I got as far as assigning each row a unique class by adding a number to the end of it. I have been able to use jQuery to change all of the rows into edit mode, but I need it to be specific to a row. An example row would have classes like name0, price0, and desc0. The next row would go on to classes name1, price1, and desc1 (for the fields that need changed). How can I reference these values and pass them to jQuery so it processes an event on just those elements?

  In a xhtml, i want to highlight the text between two self closing tags s1 and s2 whose attribute value is the same. Eg. <s1 ind="1"/> and <s2 ind="1" /> Eg. <html> <body> <a> <b>Some <s1 ind="1"/> text</b> <c>data <s2 ind="1"/>here</c> </a> </body> </html> I want "text data" to get highlighted. Is is possible to achieve using javascript/jquery? I could have many such self closing tag pairs s1 and s2 with a unique value for "ind" for the pair indicating that the text within them needs to be highlighted.

• Windows Mobile application icon

  Is it possible to specify the application icon for a windows mobile app from a resource file or other configuration besides the .csproj? The reason I would like to do this is because I have an application that can be configured to run in several different ways. We would like to build out three unique .cabs based on these configurations, and we would like to use a different icon for each version. One option we've considered is just running multiple builds and swapping out the icon file each time, but we were hoping there would be a way to do this using a "resource" DLL or something along those lines, that could be compiled or linked in to the main .exe.

• Python Textwrap - forcing 'hard' breaks

  I am trying to use textwrap to format an import file that is quite particular in how it is formatted. Basically, it is as follows (line length shortened for simplicity): abcdef <- Ok line abcdef ghijk <- Note leading space to indicate wrapped line lm Now, I have got code to work as follows: wrapper = TextWrapper(width=80, subsequent_indent=' ', break_long_words=True, break_on_hyphens=False) for l in lines: wrapline=wrapper.wrap(l) This works nearly perfectly, however, the text wrapping code doesn't do a hard break at the 80 character mark, it tries to be smart and break on a space (at approx 20 chars in). I have got round this by replacing all spaces in the string list with a unique character (#), wrapping them and then removing the character, but surely there must be a cleaner way? N.B Any possible answers need to work on Python 2.4 - sorry!

  CREATE TABLE Orders -> ( -> ID SMALLINT UNSIGNED NOT NULL, -> ModelID SMALLINT UNSIGNED NOT NULL, -> Descrip VARCHAR(40), -> PRIMARY KEY (ID, ModelID) -> ); Basically, this appears to me to be creating two primary key on one table. Is that correct? I thought that we could create a number of unique keys in one table, but only one primary key. How is it that my system is allowing the creation of multiple primary keys? Please advise: what are the rules governing this?

  I have a Python-driven web interface powered by Apache 2.2 with mod_python and Python 2.4. I need to make an asynchronous process appear synchronous to users of this web interface. When users access one module on this website: An external SOAP interface will be contacted with a unique identifier and will respond with a number N The external interface will respond asynchronously by contacting a SOAP server on my machine between 1 and 10 times (the number N tells us how many responses we will receive) I need to somehow aggregate these responses and pass them to the original module which will display the information back to the user. The goal is to make the process appear synchronous to the user. What is the best way to handle this synchronization issue? Is this something Twisted would be well-suited for? I am not restricting myself to Python for the solution, though it is preferred because everything else on the server is in Python. I prefer a solution that is both scalable and will take a minimal amount of programming time (though I understand that these attributes are somewhat at odds).

• Using css "active tab" technique on single page

  I'm building a navigation system using jquery scrollto. I have my navigation menu in a separate file (( navigation.php )). It is included in 5 locations on the first page (( 5 different sections w/ text following each )). I'm trying to figure out a way to have the current "tab" highlight'd. I could hard code the navigation in each location to ensure it shows up the correct way, but I'd rather use the phpinclude() method. The other issue is that each "tab" has it's own unique color (( cmykd )). Here is the alpha version of what I'm doing (( when you click && the page slides, the "active tab" still stays grey -- I'd like it to be the corresponding color )). • How to normalize a database where different user groups have different kinds of profiles?

  My application database has a Groups table that separates users into logical roles and defines access levels (admin, owner, salesperson, customer service, etc.) Groups has many Users. The Users table contains login details such as username and password. Now I wish to add user profiles to my database. The trouble I'm having (probably due to my relative unfamiliarity with proper database normalization) is that different user groups have different kinds of profiles. Ergo, a salesperson's profile will include his commission percentage, whereas an admin or customer service would not need this value. So, would the proper method be to create a unique profile table for each group? (e.g. admin_profiles, or salesperson_profiles). or is there a better way that combines certain details in a generic profile, while some users have extended info. And if so, whats a good example of how to do this with the commission example given?

  Hi In this article Ayende describes how to map a single domain model to multiple physical data models. Is it possible to extend this principle such that the mapping can chosen dynamically? So for example, imagine we had an entity that could be written to the same physical schema in three ways depending on its current status, and lets assume that regardless of status each entity had a unique identifier. One solution would be to represent the entity in its different states with three separate classes: one for each mapping. Then the entity could be loaded and in order to change its state the entity could be mapped to a class representing one of its other states and then saved back to the schema, making use of a different mapping. I was wondering if it is at all possible to have the same entity represented by one class that held a status flag (kind of like a discriminator), and any save to the schema would choose the appropriate mapping based on the value of the status flag. How should be my mappings in this case ? Should I use References or HasOne ? Someone could give an example ?   I am adding a new GUID/Uniqueidentifier column to my table. ALTER TABLE table_name ADD VersionNumber UNIQUEIDENTIFIER UNIQUE NOT NULL DEFAULT NEWSEQUENTIALID() GO And when ever a record is updated in the table, I would want to update this column "VersionNumber". So I create a new trigger CREATE TRIGGER [DBO].[TR_TABLE_NAMWE] ON [DBO].[TABLE_NAME] AFTER UPDATE AS BEGIN UPDATE TABLE_NAME SET VERSIONNUMBER=NEWSEQUENTIALID() FROM TABLE_NAME D JOIN INSERTED I ON D.ID=I.ID/* some ID which is used to join*/ END GO But just realized that NEWSEQUENTIALID() can only be used with CREATE TABLE or ALTER TABLE. I got this error The newsequentialid() built-in function can only be used in a DEFAULT expression for a column of type 'uniqueidentifier' in a CREATE TABLE or ALTER TABLE statement. It cannot be combined with other operators to form a complex scalar expression. Is there a workaround for this ? Edit1: Changing NEWSEQUENTIALID() to NEWID() in the trigger solves this, but I am indexing this column and using NEWID() would be sub-optimal
