  I am using the following code in Wordpress to query events (custom post type) and order them by date chronologically.. query_posts( array( 'post_type' => 'events', 'showposts' => 10, 'orderby' => 'meta_value_num','meta_key' => '_ecmb_datetime' ) ); Where the meta key _ecmb_datetime is, this is the timestamp of the event. I don't want to show events that have already happened, so my question is how do I only show events happening after my current time, and how do I sort reverse chronologically? Any help is greatly appreciated

  Hi, well I know from my asp.net mvc experience that you can have attributes that handle exceptions (HandleErrorAttribute). As far as I can tell the Controller class has some OnException event which may be integral to this behaviour. However, I want to do something similar in my own code: dream example: public String MyProperty { [ExceptionBehaviour(typeof(FormatException), MyExEnum.ClearValue)] set { _thing.prop = Convert.ToThing(value); } } .... The code above obviously makes very little sense, but is close to the kind of thing I wish to do. I want the attribute on the property set accessor to catch some type of exception and then deal with this in some custom way (or even just swallow it). Any ideas guys?

  I have two tables, the first is like this: f1 | f2 | f3 | f4 ----------------- data.... the second contains info about the fields of the first: field | info ------------ f1 a f2 b f3 a etc. I would like to query the first table selecting the fields with a query on the second. So, for example, I might want to get data for fields where info is equal to "a", thus I would do "select f1, f3 from first_table". How do I do this programmatically?   In Visual Studio 2003, you could easily set your project assembly to auto-increment every time you built it, but with Visual Studio 2005, this functionality was removed. You can still auto-increment your assembly version on every build, but it's a complicated custom build step instead of an integrated feature. I'm not sure why this was removed, but here's a question I should have asked a while ago - Should I be using a workaround to continue to auto-increment when I build, or is there a good reason to stop doing this, in favor of manually incrementing? Since Microsoft removed it from VS, perhaps there's a good reason, and I'm wondering if anybody knows it.

For example, I would like to change the default "Function" to do a System.out.println("message") whenever called. So, when a custom method/function is being created: public String testMethod() { //custom code } it should execute the newly added default behaviour (in this case the system output), before the custom code is run. Even if this would be a bad excercise, is it possible? Maybe by extending the function class or something?

  Why MS Access adodb in .NET returns 34 in fieldcount when table has 42 fields ? I see 42 fields in table of my MS Access mdb database. But ADODB layer in .NET sees only 34 fields. The Outofrange exception occures when I am calling method getOrdinal("FieldName") of reader class. Is it something I am missing in setting up connection, license or anything? Thank you

• Why won't my control accept keyboard input?

  I've built a custom control that I'm trying to send input to. It will accept mouse input and report MouseDown, MouseMove and MouseUp correctly, but for whatever reason, it won't accept keyboard input. When I click on it, it doesn't receive focus, and any keys I press get interpreted by whatever control had the focus already. This is probably something really simple. The first place I thought to look was in the ControlStyle property, but the only thing I can see in the helpfile about keyboard input is csNoStdEvents, which disables it, and my control doesn't have that. So what do I need to do to make it so my control can receive input focus?

• Import small number of records from a very large CSV file in Biztalk 2006

  I have a Biztalk project that imports an incoming CSV file and dumps it to a database table. The import works fine, but I only need to keep about 200-300 records from a file with upwards of a million rows. My orchestration discards these rows, but the problem is that the flat file I'm importing is still 250MB, and when converted to XML using a regular flat file pipeline, it takes hours to process and sometimes causes the server to run out memory. Is there something I can do to have the Custom Pipeline itself discard rows I don't care about? The very first item in each CSV row is one of a few strings, and I only want to keep rows that start with a certain string. Thanks for any help you're able to provide.

But are there any concrete situations where using @Transient fields leads to implicit and hard fixing problems? For example, is it possible that adding/removing 2nd level cache will break our app when there are @Transient fields in our entities?

  When you add a label to the form from the toolbox, its text defaults to the item's name (label1, label2, etc). How can I make this happen with a custom control? So far, I have the following, which allows me to change the text through the property window: private string _text; [BrowsableAttribute(true)] public override string Text { get { return _text; } set { _text = value; lblID.Text = _text; } } Apparently the above code works as is, but I'm not sure why. Does Text default to the object's name automatically? The question still stands for other properties which don't override Text.

  I have written a custom std::basic_streambuf and std::basic_ostream because I want an output stream that I can get a JNI string from in a manner similar to how you can call std::ostringstream::str(). • Forced to use too many hidden fields; looking for an alternative approach

  I am looking for a better approach to do this. I have around 70 to 80 hidden fields in my page. This hidden fields are initialized at the server side and then used at the client side for validations, calculations, etc,. using java script. I wanted to know if there is any other alternative approach to using hidden fields in asp.net. I guess, these many hidden fields are increasing the page size and hence affecting the performance of my web page and I want to do away with it. FYI: I am working on an asp.net web application.

• How can i design a DB where the user can define the fields and types of a detail table in a M-D rela

  My application has one table called 'events' and each event has approx 30 standard fields, but also user defined fields that could be any name or type, in an 'eventdata' table. Users can define these event data tables, by specifying x number of fields (either text/double/datetime/boolean) and the names of these fields. This 'eventdata' (table) can be different for each 'event'. My current approach is to create a lookup table for the definitions. So if i need to query all 'event' and 'eventdata' per record, i do so in a M-D relaitionship using two queries (i.e. select * from events, then for each record in 'events', select * from 'some table'). Is there a better approach to doing this? I have implemented this so far, but most of my queries require two distinct calls to the DB - i cannot simply join my master 'events' table with different 'eventdata' tables for each record in in 'events'. I guess my main question is: can i join my master table with different detail tables for each record? E.g. SELECT E.*, E.Tablename FROM events E LEFT JOIN 'E.tablename' T ON E._ID = T.ID If not, is there a better way to design my database considering i have no idea on how many user defined fields there may be and what type they will be.

• Why is my custom view not appearing?

  When I comment out setContentView(boardView); in my Game.java my custom view in BoardView works fine and displays everything nicely... but onSizeChanged never gets called in BoardView.java... so I can't read the device width and height at runtime. If I leave setContentView uncommented onSizeChanged works... but the screen is blank!   I created this custom css menu, but when switching tabs, the "Active" tab design remains on the 'Home' link on the menu, rather than the actual page I'm on. Any idea how I an fix this? • How can I create an enum using numbers?

  Is it possible to make an enum using just numbers in C#? In my program I have a variable, Gain, that can only be set to 1, 2, 4, and 8. I am using a propertygrid control to display and set this value. If I were to create an enum like this... private enum GainValues {One, Two, Four, Eight} and I made my gain variable of type GainValues then the drop-down list in the propertygrid would only show the available values for the gain variable. The problem is I want the gain values to read numerically an not as words. But I can not create an enum like this: private enum GainValues {1,2,4,8} So is there another way of doing this? Perhaps creating a custom type?

I already registered the control on the aspx page using <%@ Register Namespace="MyCostumControls" TagPrefix="ctrl" % and i can use in the page and works ok.. But i'm watching one problem. That class contains methods defined by me, than when i try to call them in code-behind sayd to me than they're not defined. In designed i don't see the reference to MyCostumControls, and when i try declare one field using protected global::MyCostumControls.MyCostumControls ddl_gv_errors, i cannot access to MyCostumControls namespace, Is because he's compiled to the project dll? I can access to all namespaces than are not contained in app_code. Solutions? Apreciate. Thanks

Say I have device type "Switch" and "Transformer". Both derived classes only have 2-3 of their own unique fields. When doing the UI design (windows forms) in this case.
