  Hello there! I am currently experiencing this issue, and am wondering why...? The error message is: "XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://www.panoramio.com/wapi/data/get_photos?v=1&key=dummykey&tag=test&offset=0&length=20&minx=-30&miny=0&maxx=0&maxy=150&callback=?. Origin hxxp://foo.bar is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin. test_panoramio.html:59Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token )" "hxxp://foo.bar" refers to the site I am running the script from. • Action Filter Dependency Injection in ASP.NET MVC 3 RC2 with StructureMap

  Hi, I've been playing with the DI support in ASP.NET MVC RC2. I have implemented session per request for NHibernate and need to inject ISession into my "Unit of work" action filter. If I reference the StructureMap container directly (ObjectFactory.GetInstance) or use DependencyResolver to get my session instance, everything works fine: ISession Session { get { return DependencyResolver.Current.GetService<ISession>(); } } However if I attempt to use my StructureMap filter provider (inherits FilterAttributeFilterProvider) I have problems with committing the NHibernate transaction at the end of the request. It is as if ISession objects are being shared between requests. I am seeing this frequently as all my images are loaded via an MVC controller so I get 20 or so NHibernate sessions created on a normal page load. I added the following to my action filter: ISession Session { get { return DependencyResolver.Current.GetService<ISession>(); } } public ISession SessionTest { get; set; } public override void OnResultExecuted(System.Web.Mvc.ResultExecutedContext filterContext) { bool sessionsMatch = (this.Session == this.SessionTest); SessionTest is injected using the StructureMap Filter provider. I found that on a page with 20 images, "sessionsMatch" was false for 2-3 of the requests. My StructureMap configuration for session management is as follows: For<ISessionFactory>().Singleton().Use(new NHibernateSessionFactory().GetSessionFactory()); For<ISession>().HttpContextScoped().Use(ctx => ctx.GetInstance<ISessionFactory>().OpenSession()); In global.asax I call the following at the end of each request: public Global() { EndRequest += (sender, e) => { ObjectFactory.ReleaseAndDisposeAllHttpScopedObjects(); }; } Is this configuration thread safe? Previously I was injecting dependencies into the same filter using a custom IActionInvoker. This worked fine until MVC 3 RC2 when I started experiencing the problem above, which is why I thought I would try using a filter provider instead. Any help would be appreciated Ben P.S. • Inactive area after device rotation

  Hi all, I don't understand what's wrong in my very simple application with device rotation : I built my view with interface builder. (See screen capture here) I specified <key>UIInterfaceOrientation</key><string>UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight</string> in my info.plist file. I had a (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation {return YES;} in my root view controller. The area on the left (shown in red on the capture), around 20 pixel width, keeps inactive (nothing append if I hit a button in this area). In fact the full screen is active only in portrait mode, in landscape right mode there is this 20 pixels width inactive area, in landscape left mode this inactive area is on the right, in portrait upside down mode this area is on the bottom. I read lots of posts and documentation about UIView rotation, but I did not find anything to solve this problem (I tried to play with view.frame and view.bounds without any success). • Form not updating usercontrol

  From the post "Growing user control not updating"... Using C#, .Net 2.0 in a Windows environment. UserControl1 - draws cells to a bitmap buffer dependent upon NumberOfCells property UserControl2 - panel contains UserControl1 which displays vertical scroll when necessary; also contains NumberOfCells which sets UserControl1's NumberOfCells. Formf1 - contains NumericUpDown controls (just increments) which updates the UserControl2 - suppose to! When I increment the control on the form by say 20, UserControl1 adds the necessary cells, UserControl2 displays the vertical scroll bar accordingly, BUT the form does not 'redraw' to the updated/correct image!! Meaning, after I increment by 20, cells are added, vertical scrool bar added... but the image shown is just everything else expanding. I reset the control to scoll to the very TOP and the scrolling works, but the image is still staic... UNTIL I resize my form, more specifically, when I change it from maximize to window or vice versa!!! What can I do to 'reset/redraw' the correct image???? Thank you in advance. Lawrence

• PyQt4: Scrollbar doesn't show in scrollarea when resizing dockWidget

  I created a python test program (Test_InfoPanel.py) that has MainWindow with dockWidget, and within it, a tabWidget with scrollArea widget. However, when I resize the MainWindow, the vertical scrollbar doesn't auto-appear when the Similarly, when I undock the dockWidget & resize, the vertical scrollbar doesn't auto-appear. Pls help! I don't know how to extract the src from the img inside the selected element. I've tried various combinations using the this keyword, but nothing seemed to work. I've also tried to add the src path as a rel attribute to the label, but also without any success. Should be needless to say I also control the PHP-output... I really hope you can help me. I could of course put all the properties into JavaFX code or provide another stylesheet (for every existing stylesheed) that would contain the same data and change stylesheet right after adding any component, but I would like to find some elegant solution.   I have an object I'm trying to populate from another object (that is, iterate over a return object to produce an object with only selected values from the original). My code looks like this: var collect = {}; function getHistoricalData(username){ $.getJSON("http://url/" + username + ".json?params", function(data){ for (var i=0; i < data.length; i++) { console.log(i); collect = { i : {text : data[i].text}}; $("#wrap").append("<span>" + data[i].text + "</span><br />"); }; console.log(collect); }); } So I'm using Firebug for debugging, and here's what I know: The JSON object is intact console.log(i); is showing the numbers 1-20 as expected When I log the collect object at the end, it's structure is this: var collect = { i : {text : "the last iteration's text"}}; So the incrementer is "applying" to the data[i].text and returning the text value, but it's not doing what I expected, which is create a new member of the collect object; it's just overwriting collect.i 20 times and leaving me with the last value. Is there a different syntax I need to be using for assigning object members? I tried collect.i.text = and collect[i].text = and the error was that whatever I tried was undefined. I'd love to know what's going on here, so the more in-depth an explanation the better. Thanks!

• Can iPad/iPhone Touch Points be Wrong Due to Calibration?

  I have an iPad application that uses the whole screen (that is, UIStatusBarHidden is set true in the Info.plist file). The main window's frame is set to (0, 0, 768, 1024), as is the main view in that frame. The main view has multitouch enabled. The view has code to handle touches: - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { for (UITouch *touch in touches) { CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:nil]; NSLog(@"touchesMoved at location %@", NSStringFromCGPoint(location)); } } When I run the app in the simulator, it works pretty much as expected. As I move the mouse from one edge of the screen to the other, reported X values go from 0 to 767. Reported Y values go from 20 to 1023, but it is a known issue that the simulator doesn't report touches in the top 20 pixels of the screen, even when there is no status bar. Here's what's weird: When I run the app on an actual iPad, the X values go from 0 to 767 as expected, but reported Y values go from -6 to 1017. The fact that it seems to work properly on the simulator leads me to suspect that real devices' touchscreens are not perfectly calibrated, and mine is simply reporting values six pixels too low. Can anyone verify that this is the case? Otherwise, is there anything else that could account for the Y values being six pixels off from what I expect?   Hey there, What is the best way to get a number of property values of a business object from the View to the Presenter in a WebFormsMvp page? Here is what i propose: The scenario is, I have a business object called Quote which i would like to load form the database, edit and then save. The Quote class has heaps of properties on it. The form is concerned with about 20 of these properties. I have existing methods to load/save a Quote object to/from the database. I now need to wire this all together. So, in the View_Load handler on my presenter i intend to do something like this: public void View_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { View.Model.Quote = quoteService.Read(quoteId); } And then bind all my controls as follows: <asp:TextBox ID="TotalPriceTextBox" runat="server" Text="<%# Model.Quote.TotalPrice %>" /> All good, the data is on the screen. The user then makes a bunch of changes and hits a "Submit" button. Here is where I'm unsure. I create a class called QuoteEventArgs exposing the 20 properties the form is able to edit. When the View raises the Submit button's event, I set these properties to the values of the controls in the code behind. Then raise the event for the presenter to respond to. The presenter re-loads the Quote object from the database, sets all the properties and saves it to the database. Is this the right way to do this? If not, what is? Cheers, Andrej.

• Displaying progressbar using threading in win 32 applicaition!

  I'm trying to generate a uuid for a filename, and I'm also using the multiprocessing module. Unpleasantly, all of my uuids end up exactly the same. Here is a small example: import multiprocessing import uuid def get_uuid( a ): ## Doesn't help to cycle through a bunch. #for i in xrange(10): uuid.uuid4() ## Doesn't help to reload the module. #reload( uuid ) ## Doesn't help to load it at the last minute. ## (I simultaneously comment out the module-level import). #import uuid ## uuid1() does work, but it differs only in the first 8 characters and includes identifying information about the computer. #return uuid.uuid1() return uuid.uuid4() def main(): pool = multiprocessing.Pool( 20 ) uuids = pool.map( get_uuid, range( 20 ) ) for id in uuids: print id if __name__ == '__main__': main() I peeked into uuid.py's code, and it seems to depending-on-the-platform use some OS-level routines for randomness, so I'm stumped as to a python-level solution (to do something like reload the uuid module or choose a new random seed). I could use uuid.uuid1(), but only 8 digits differ and I think there are derived exclusively from the time, which seems dangerous especially given that I'm multiprocessing (so the code could be executing at exactly the same time). Is there some Wisdom out there about this issue?

The issue i am facing is if i have a filter on parent child dimension then drill through table does not show filtered data instead it shows all the data for that dimension. Now if i click on 5 (to view drill through table) It shows me data against all page type i.e. HTML, PDF, XML but as per filter it should show only HTML and PDF. • ajax to php to curl and back..

  I am trying to make an ajax call to a php script. The php script calls an rss feed using curl, gets the data, and returns the data to the funciton. I keep getting an error "Warning: Wrong parameter count for curl_error() in" .... Here is my php code:1 $ch = curl_init() or die(curl_error()); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $feed); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); $data1 = curl_exec($ch) or die(curl_error()); echo $data1; and the ajax call: $.ajax({ url: "getSingleFeed.php", type: "POST", data: "feedURL=" + window.feedURL, success: function(feed){ alert(feed); }}); I tested all the variables, they are being passed correctly, I can echo them out. But this line: $data1 = curl_exec($ch) or die(curl_error()); is what is giving me the error. I am doing the same thing with curl on other pages, just without ajax, and it is working fine. Is there anything special I need to do with ajax to do this?

• Migrating a Large amount of data from old publishing site to new site

  Hi, I am currently in the process of creating a new news/publishing site on the Movable Type platform. There are around 20 or so sites with 20,000+ rows of data to be moved/aggregated to ~8 sites (we have a number of location specific sites and are going to aggregate the content from these into 1 single site for each niche). We have discussed how to do this and came to the conclusion that it would probably be better to hire somebody to do it (I could probably do it, but i'm limited on time and am sure that a specialist would be more efficient). So my questions to you guys are: 1) What kind of skill set should we look for in an applicant? 2) There will be a large amount of input from our side... is getting somebody to work remotely out of the question? 3) How long would a task like this traditionally take (I know this question is very subjective, but an estimation would be awesome)? 4) Do you have any recommendations for firms who would be able to take on a large task like this?
