• Duplicity on a ReadyNAS

  Has anyone here run Duplicity on a ReadyNAS? I'm trying but here's what I get: duplicity full --encrypt-key="ABC123" /home/jason/ scp://[email protected]//gob Invalid SSH password Running 'sftp -oServerAliveInterval=15 -oServerAliveCountMax=2 [email protected]' failed (attempt #1) I've also found this post that says the "Invalid SSH password" message doesn't actually mean invalid SSH password. This would make sense because I'm not using an SSH password; I'm using a public key. I can ssh, ftp, sftp and rsync into my ReadyNAS just fine. (Actually, to be more accurate, I can get past authentication with ssh, ftp and sftp but I can't actually do anything past that. Regardless, that's enough to tell me that "Invalid SSH password" is bogus. Rsync works with no problems.) The post I found says the command will work as soon as the directory at the end of your scp command exists, but I don't know how to check for that. I know the share gob exists on my ReadyNAS and I know it's writable because I'm writing to it with rsync. • Java POI 3.6 XWPF usage guidelines (reading content of docx file)

  I assume the following objects should be used to read contents of DOCX file: XWPFDocument XWPFWordExtractor However, somewhere the compiler warns me from not including the correct libraries needed in classpath. I think I'm kinda lost for not knowing which jar file is the right one to include for this since there are so many jar files (POI libraries). My project so far involve in reading doc and docx files as part of the project. I've managed to read the contents of doc file. However, for docx file, I'm still having problem with that. Can anyone show the guidelines in terms of the codes and libraries needed (jar files) to read the content of docx file? I'm trying to limit the libraries need to be added on into project since I need to read doc and docx only. • How to use jxl open file turn off gridlines and save

  I am new to jxl, but I have what I think is a pretty simple requirement. I want to take an existing .xls file with three tabs, turn off the gridlines on all 3, and then save it again. It looks from the API like there is a function to handle gridlines setPrintGridLines(boolean b) I would love it if someone could give me sample code - or a link pointing me in the right direction - on how to do this. • VBA-Sorting the data in a listbox, sort works but data in listbox not changed

  A listbox is passed, the data placed in an array, the array is sort and then the data is placed back in the listbox. The part that does work is putting the data back in the listbox. Its like the listbox is being passed by value instead of by ref. Here's the sub that does the sort and the line of code that calls the sort sub. • Why does VBA Find loop fail when called from Evaluate?

  I am having some problems running a find loop inside of a subroutine when the routine is called using the Application.Evaluate or ActiveSheet.Evaluate method. For example, in the code below, I define a subroutine FindSub() which searches the sheet for a string "xxx". The routine CallSub() calls the FindSub() routine using both a standard Call statement and Evaluate. When I run Call FindSub, everything will work as expected: each matching address gets printed out to the immediate window and we get a final message "Finished up" when the code is done. However, when I do Application.Evaluate "FindSub()", only the address of the first match gets printed out, and we never reach the "Finished up" message. In other words, an error is encountered after the Cells.FindNext line as the loop tries to evaluate whether it should continue, and program execution stops without any runtime error being printed. I would expect both Call FindSub and Application.Evaluate "FindSub()" to yield the same results in this case. Can someone explain why they do not, and if possible, a way to fix this? Thanks. Note: In this example I obviously do not need to use Evaluate. This version is simplified to just focus on the particular problem I am having in a more complex situation.   We have a lot of VBA code in spreadsheets and a lot of time people save them to local drives. When we want to upgrade the spreadsheets we push a new version out to a shared drive but dont have any way of enforcing that people dont use the old versions of the spreadsheets. Is there some best practice here to deploy vba spreadsheets so if someone loads an old version it wont open or will ask you to upgrade. It seems like this must be an issue for any custom solution so i would have through MS would have some solution here. Does microsoft have a standard versioning / deployment solution for this or do i need to come up with some home grown solution (spreadsheet pings a database on startup to check version)

• How can I import one Gradle script into another?

  Hi all, I have a complex gradle script that wraps up a load of functionality around building and deploying a number of netbeans projects to a number of environments. The script works very well, but in essence it is all configured through half a dozen maps holding project and environment information. I want to abstract the tasks away into another file, so that I can simply define my maps in a simple build file, and import the tasks from the other file. In this way, I can use the same core tasks for a number of projects and configure those projects with a simple set of maps. Can anyone tell me how I can import one gradle file into another, in a similar manner to Ant's task? I've trawled Gradle's docs to no avail so far. Additional Info After Tom's response below, I thought I'd try and clarify exactly what I mean. Basically I have a gradle script which runs a number of subprojects. However, the subprojects are all Netbeans projects, and come with their own ant build scripts, so I have tasks in gradle to call each of these. My problem is that I have some configuration at the top of the file, such as: projects = [ [name:"MySubproject1", shortname: "sub1", env:"mainEnv", cvs_module="mod1"], [name:"MySubproject2", shortname: "sub2", env:"altEnv", cvs_module="mod2"] ] I then generate tasks such as: projects.each({ task "checkout_$it.shortname" << { // Code to for example check module out from cvs using config from 'it'. } }) I have many of these sort of task generation snippets, and all of them are generic - they entirely depend on the config in the projects list. So what I want is a way to put this in a separate script and import it in the following sort of way: projects = [ [name:"MySubproject1", shortname: "sub1", env:"mainEnv", cvs_module="mod1"], [name:"MySubproject2", shortname: "sub2", env:"altEnv", cvs_module="mod2"] ] import("tasks.gradle") // This will import and run the script so that all tasks are generated for the projects given above. So in this example, tasks.gradle will have all the generic task generation code in, and will get run for the projects defined in the main build.gradle file. • Alerting for incorrect cell values

  My problem: I have two ranges R16 and R01. These ranges were set up by swiping each range and then renaming them in the upper left panel of the sheet. Each range requires users to fill in each cell with a value. R16 requires users to enter a number of 0 through 5. The range R01 requires a value of 0 or 1 to be entered. NO cell can be left blank in any cell within these two ranges. These ranges and requirements are specific to this sheet only. It would be nice if at the time of user entering a number, an error message appeared like [invalid entry] if the value inputted was outside parameters set. For example, in R16, if someone entered 12 or -1 they would be alerted. Finally when the user presses a button on the page to use these values in a separate process, it is essential to check that no cell is left blank. I am trying to find a way to halt the running of the marco (via the button) if these parameters above are not met. Thank you

• Any suggested approaches to track bugs/defects?

  What is the best way to track defect sources in tfs? We have various teams for a project like the vulnerability team, the customer, pre-sales, etc. We give a build and these teams independently test it. They do not have access to our tfs system. So they usually send in their defects via email. It will usually be send in an excel format. Our testing team takes these up and logs them into tfs. Sometimes they modify the original defect description (in excel) and add the expected/actual results. Sometimes they miss to cite the source. I am talking about managing the various sources as such. Is there a way we can add these sources into tfs, and actually link this particular source with the defects, with individual comments associated with them (saying where in the source we can find the actual material for the defect). Edit: I don't know if there is a way to manage various sources. Consider this: the vulnerability assessment team has come out with defects/suggestions. They captured it into an excel and passed that on to the testing team (in my case). The testing team takes the responsibility of elaborating the defect and logging it in tfs. Now say that the excel has come with 20 defect items. This is my source. (It answers the question where did this defect come from). So ultimately when I am looking at a bug I know from where it came from - I'll ultimately be looking at the email sent from the VA team which has the excel or the excel file itself sent by the VA team. It may be one of the 20 items in that excel. How should the tester link to this source just once? On the contrary, it does not make sense for the tester to attach the same excel 20 times (i.e. attach the same excel for the 20 defects while logging it into tfs) right? I hope you get my point.

• How can I embed a PDF in a Word Doc, and access that PDF with VBA?

  I have a word doc with some ActiveX buttons on it. When one of these buttons is pressed, a UserForm pops up with a corresponding PDF displayed, like so: This is exactly the behavior I want. However, the problem is that for this to work, the user of the word doc needs to have each of the PDFs saved on their machine as well. I need to be able to distribute this word doc without needing to distribute a bunch of PDFs along with it, so is there any way to embed PDFs in a word document in such a way that they're accessible by VBA? I've discovered here that it's reasonably easy to embed a PDF in any office doc. And I've tried that: But I can't figure out how to access that PDF object in my VBA code, in order to display it on the UserForm. Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

• How can I "remind" users to fill in cells on a worksheet

  Hello: I have a set of cells on a worksheet called "Docs". The cell range is (B13:C23). When users get taken to this page, they are meant to fill out each of these cells with a value from 0 through 6. My Question: Is there some code that I can attach to this sheet where, if a user does not fill in a cell with anything (ie. leaves it blank) and tries to leave the sheet or close the workbook, they are somehow reminded to fill it in? Or is there a way to not let them leave the sheet until it's completed? Thanks.. Allan

• How to use Application.OnTime to call a macro at a set time everyday, without having to close workbook

  I have written a macro that uses Application.OnTime that works if I manually execute the macro. I'm trying to automate this process so I don't have to write Application.OnTime in "This Workbook" or (Private Sub Workbook_Open() Most of you do this because you can have windows scheduler open the workbook at a certain time which starts the macros on open. I CANNOT USE SCHEDULER. Because I am not able to use windows scheduler I will keep the workbook open and the timer should refresh my data then Call "my Macro" at a certain time everyday. Where do I place this code, and how do I set an auto timer?
