  • Guice creates Swing components outside of UI thread problem?

    I'm working on Java Swing application with Google Guice as an IOC container. Things are working pretty well. There are some UI problems. When a standard L&F is replaced with Pushing pixels Substance L&F application is not running due to Guice's Swing components creation outside of UI thread. Is there a way to tell Guice to create Swing components in the UI thread? Maybe I should create custom providers which will return Swing components after SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(Runnable) creates them. I don't like the idea of running the whole application in UI thread, but maybe it's just a perfect solution.

  • Looking for a Python UI library comparable with Windows Forms [on hold]

    I am looking for a Python UI library which I could use to develop a desktop GUI comparable to what can be done with .NET Windows Forms. I have no previous experience programming UI in Python, so I would rather choose (if there is a choice) something simple. The application I am building would be a document oriented - rich texts, lists and grids, I don't expect to use much graphics - mostly formatted texts. Any pointers, and if there is more than one major GUI library available for Python - how could I quickly test them to see which one is a better fit for my needs?

  • Jquery - intercept links created by ajax request

    Hi, I have some jquery code that intercepts links clicked on a page : $(document).ready(function() { $("a").click(function() { //do something here }); }); My problem is there are certain parts of the page that have not finished loading on document ready. They are populated via ajax calls. The links in these sections are not intercepted by my jQuery function above. I need the function to be run on document ready initially but then I need the new links to also have the same logic applied to them. Any help would be very much appreciated. This is an area that I am very unfamiliar with. I have written the jQuery stuff but the ajax code is an external component that I have no control over. Thanks in advance

  • DWR and Jquery into spring MVC 2.5

    Hi, From my shallow reading, Spring MVC does not support jquery directly. It does enable integration with DWR framework. From my understanding of DWR, it is an ajax framework that allows you to call javas methods from javascript. Can I use both in my application? With Jquery handling most of the javascript code and client side interaction and DWR making the ajax calls? I am leaning towards learning jquery but there is no out of the box support for it in spring 2.5.

  • Uncheck all checkboxes in repeater except checkbox being checked

    I know my question reads a bit like that 'how much wood can a woodchuck chuck' line, please excuse that... I have a repeater with checkboxes. There are numerous rows in this repeater - I never know how many - I want only one checkbox checked at any time. If the user changes the checked checkbox, any pre-existing checks are unchecked therefore maintaining a single checked checkbox. I am using VB, but comfortable to port any C#. I want to use JQuery. I have been looking on Google, but only ever seem to find ALL checked, ALL unchecked systems. Any suggestions?

Now I've got the problem, that people who use my plugin may have a different jQuery Version on their Wordpress Blogs, so what shall I do to manage that? My plugin often doesn't work with 'other' jQuery Versions. Maybe there is anyone who is addicted with the wordpress api. Maybe there are some hooks I didn't know (this is my first plugin).   • Removing all Matching Classes in jQuery

    Hi I have an li element that will have something along the lines of this for a declaration <li class="module ui-helper-fix"> And I can dynamically change the color of the module by adding on classes (That are provided dynamically through DB calls) the end result being <li class="module ui-helper-fix module-green"> or <li class="module ui-helper-fix module-default"> Well I am fine with changing the color by adding on a new module-WHATEVER class but what I would like to do is remove any class that matches module-XXXX so it starts with a clean slate and then add on the class module-crimson. So how do I remove all classes that match module-xxx first ? Keeping in mind I don't want to remove the base module class. Thanks. -Seth

  • How to include LinkedIn user profile page feeds in web application?

    I am building a web application in which I would like to include the user's LinkedIn profile page feeds. Is this possible? What I envision is the user comes to the web application and adds the complete URL for their Linked user profile in a text box and I would get the feeds for that user page. Would it be possible to do this with jquery? Or should I be looking at some other tool? I trying to make it more clear, I want to create a widget kinda of app for my web app where user enters a complete url of the linkedin user profile page and I have to retrieve the feeds of that particular user and display it. It should be dynamic in nature, if another user enters a another url into the text box I should be able to get the feeds from that particular user profile page.

    I have a page with the following two divs: <div id="searchResults"> </div> <div class="postSearchOptions" style="display: none;"> </div> Is there any way that I can make the "postSearchOptions" div appear when the "searchResults" div is updated by an AJAX call? I don't control the AJAX calls and I want to detect any change in the "searchResults" div. I tried writing the following JQuery code, but then realized that it requires Jquery 1.4 and I only have 1.3: $("#searchResults").live("change", function() { $(".postSearchOptions").css("display", "inline"); }); Is there any way to catch the event of the searchResults div changing using either standard JavaScript or Jquery 1.3?     I have an onclick function that I want to add an anchor to the href value. I do not want to change the URL's, because I need the site to still function for people without javascript / for SEO purposes. so here is what I have tried using (amoung other things): jQuery('a[rel=ajax]').click(function () { jQuery(this).attr('href', '/#' + jQuery('a')); }); An orginal link looks like this: http://www.mysite.com/PopularTags/ URL re-write should look like this, so that AJAX will work: http://www.mysite.com/#PopularTags I was able to get some URL's to work by setting a links name value to the same as the href, but it did not work for links with sub-sections: http://www.mysite.com/Artist/BandName/ So not really sure.   • Continuous Progress Bar in Javascript

    Hello, I am trying to find the best option to create a simple progress bar that I need to be triggered periodically from within another JavaScript script. Every few minutes, a timer would cause the progress bar to start going from 0 to 100%. Once it reaches 100%, the bar would reset to 0. I am trying to implement a smooth animated version of the bar, like this one: http://www.webappers.com/progressBar/. (I tried adapting this particular one but I could not get it to work the way I described) I am looking into the jQuery UI ProgressBar: Is it possible to use it in the manner I have described? I could use my trusty isempty() on it: function isempty(o) { for ( var i in o ) return false; return true; } Or since jQuery objects are arrays, I suppose I could test s.length. But neither seem quite in the idiom of jQuery, not very jQueryesque. What do you suggest?

  • Forumotion profile customization using jQuery based on URL

    The idea is have a jQuery snippet (I like Jquery...I can understand it better then regular javascript) that will detect that when it has been run on a profile with a url such as "http://customize.forum-motion.com/profile.forum?mode=viewprofile&u=1" (just as an example)...then upon detecting that it is a url of a profile...fetch data from a specific (and most likely hidden) element before wrapping that data in css tags and appending it to the heady of the current document. In short I'm trying to figure out how to make a sort of profile customization system where users can create their own css. The biggest problem I am having so far is figuring out how to make it so that the snippet can figure out what URL its being run on. Is there a function that can do this in jQuery at all?

    I am trying to write a jQuery plugin, that can be applied to a selector. Within this plugin, there are multiple calls to webservices, where callback methods are required. The problem I am having is maintaining the current context item in the each loop of the selector. Is there any way to do this?

    Hi Folks, I'm complaining about the growth of jQuery tagged questions at stackoverflow. There are so many people who ask, 'How to implement a specific plugin?' or 'How to use that plugin?' which makes me kinda sick. IMO: If you Tag a question to jQuery, javascript or C, it should be a question about the language itself and not some 'goofy' little plugin. Best case scenario, Tag those questions with jquery-plugins. I know I'm breaking my own rule along with this post, but I just realized that trend and I'm really interested in other opinions about that. Kind Regards --Andy
