  • How to check whether an object has a specific method or not

    Hey, I want to use a method of an object. Like $myObject->helloWorld(). However there are a couple of methods so I loop through an array of method names and call the method like this: my $methodName ="helloWorld"; $myObject->$methodNames; This works quite nice but some objects don't have all methods. How can I tell whether $myObject has a method called helloWorld or not?

  • .NET & Worflow, SqlTrackingQuery.GetWorkflows() on wire correct - presented object not

    With windows workflow when using the tracking service, the SqlTrackingQuery.GetWorkflows() method returns correctly the workflow type and assembly version on the wire from the DB query - but when one comes to query the returned SqlTrackingWorkflowInstance object it's WorkflowType.AssemblyQualifiedName property is returned as the current assembly version of the workflow type (i.e. it looks to matching on FQ type name only and not version). Anyone know how to get to the actual returned data (other than either a custom query or hook)?

    I have something like this: var test = {}; function blah() { test[2] = 'filled'; } console.log(test); //result test -> 2:"filled" console.log(test[2]); //result undefined I don't understand why I'm getting 'undefined' in the second instance when according to the first instance, the property of that object clearly exists!   • managed object subclasses are not generating implementation files and are incorrectly named

    In Xcode 4.6, I generated plenty of managed object subclass files without any problem. But now that I'm trying to do it in Xcode 5, it generates only a .h file. The header file has the correct properties, but it takes the name of my project, rather than the name of the core data entity I selected. Just to be sure I hadn't forgotten something, I carefully followed these steps . What could be going on? Thanks

The user will click on my widget, I get an instance of the Camera(if it's not already stored), use it, then store it. If they click the widget again, I want to use that same instance that I used previously. Is this possible?

    Hi! I'd like to know if there's a way to verify if an index exists before getting it. So it'd be way to protect my code against: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '*** -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (2) beyond bounds (0)' Like in PHP you can do: isset($object[10]); and it'll return true if it exists. Is there such a method in Objective-C/Cocoa? Thanks!

    UPDATE: It's working as expected just needed to pass the correct Id, DUH!~ I have a custom object in salesforce, kind of like the comments section on a case for example. When you add a new comment it has a date/time stamp for that entry, I wanted to update the previous case comment date/time stamp when a new case comment is created.   • Jmock mock DAO object

    Hi all, I wrote a method that retrieves certain list of strings, given a correct string key. Now when I create a list(the one to be retrieved by method descibed in previous sentence) and create test I can easily get results and test passes successfully. Now on the other hand if I save the content of this list to database in 2 columns, key and value I wrote a class which retrieves this items with method inside it. And when I print it out to console the expected results are correct, now I initialize my DAO from application context where inside its bean it gets session and because of DAO works. Now I'm trying to write a test which will mock the DAO, because I'm running test localy not on the server .. so I told jmock to mock it : private MyDAO myDAO; in the setup() myDAO = context.mock(MyDAO.class); I think I'm mocking it correctly or not, how can I mock this data from database? what is the best way? Is there somewhere good Jmock documentation? on their official site its not very good and clear, you have to know what you seek in order to find it, can't discover something cool in the mean time.

  • Why isn’t my autoreleased object getting released?

    Hello. I am debugging a weird memory management error and I can’t figure it out. I noticed that some of my objects are staying in memory longer than expected. I checked all my memory management and finally got to the very improbable conclusion that some of my autorelease operations don’t result in a release. Under what circumstances is that possible? I created a small testing Canary class that logs a message in dealloc and have the following testing code in place: NSLog(@"On the main thread: %i.", [NSThread isMainThread]); [[[Canary alloc] init] autorelease]; According to the code we’re really on the main thread, but the dealloc in Canary does not get called until much later. The delay is not deterministic and can easily take seconds or more. How is that possible? The application runs on a Mac, the garbage collection is turned off (Objective-C Garbage Collection is set to Unsupported on the target.) I am mostly used to iOS, is memory management on OS X different in some important way?

  • Reading Data from DDFS ValueError: No JSON object could be decoded

    I'm running dozens of map reduce jobs for a number of different purposes using disco. My data has grown enormous and I thought I would try using DDFS for a change rather than standard txt files. I've followed the DISCO map/reduce example Counting Words as a map/reduce job, without to much difficulty and with the help of others, Reading JSON specific data into DISCO I've gotten past one of my latest problems. I'm trying to read data in/out of ddfs to better chunk and distribute it but am having a bit of trouble.     I'm using Xcode for C++ on my computer while using Visual Studio at school. The following code worked just fine in Visual Studio, but I'm having this problem when using Xcode. clock c1(2, 3, 30); Everything works just fine, but it keeps giving me this error that says "Expected ';' before 'c1'" Fine, I put the ';' .. but then, it gives me this error: "'c1' was not declared in this scope" Here's the whole header code: #include <iostream> using namespace std; class clock { private: int h; int m; int s; public: clock(int hr, int mn, int sec); }; clock::clock(int hr, int mn, int sec) { h = hr; m = mn; s = sec; } Here's the whole .cpp code: #include "clock.h" int main() { clock c1(2, 3, 30); return 0; } I stripped everything down to where I had the problem. Everything else, as far as I know, is irrelevant since the problem remains the same with just the mentioned above. Thanks in advance!

    Is there a way to make Unit dispose property-injected objects as part of the Teardown? The background is that I am working on an application that uses ASP.NET MVC 2, Unity and WCF. We have written our own MVC controller factory that uses unity to instantiate the controller and WCF proxies are injected using the [Dependency] attribute on public properties of the controller. At the end of the page life cycle the ReleaseController method of the controller factory is called and we call IUnityContainer.Teardown(theMvcController). At that point the controller is disposed as expected but I also need to dispose the injected wcf-proxies. (Actually I need to call Close and/or Abort on them and not Dispose but that is a later problem.) I could of course override the controllers' Dispose methods and clean up the proxies there, but I don't want the controllers to have to know about the lifecycles of the injected interfaces or even that they refer to WCF proxies. If I need to write code myself for this - what would be the best extension point? I'd appreciate any pointer.
