• Which features of user story management should an agile team look for?

  In my research study, I need to identify the key features of user story management tools that can be used to support agile development. So far, I identified the following general groups of features: User role modeling and personas support, User stories and epics management, Acceptance testing support, High-level release planning, Low-level iteration planning, and Progress tracking. Each group contains some specific features, e.g., support for story points, writing of acceptance tests, etc. Which features of user story management should an agile team look for especially when switching from tangible tools (index cards, pin boards and big visible charts) to a software tool?   I am planning to build an expression parser that will be used to graph algebraic functions ( think TI-83 ) with JavaScript. Functions will take the form of f(x)= Aside from typical operators such as: + - * / ^ I'd also like to add support for inline functions such as: sin(), cos(), log() and random(). I have looked at implementing the Shunting Yard algorithm for parsing expressions, but it does not look like an efficient approach to evaluating a function with a hundreds or thousands of inputs. What other known algorithms exist for this task?

  I am using Ubuntu 12.04 x64 bit as default DE. I was guessing it is possible to Auto Arrange the Current-Active applications in Unity Launcher panel to align in Lastly-Opened or Firstly-Opened in ascending or descending order, irrespective of their locked positions in the Unity Launcher panel. Just to get rid of Scrolling down the launcher panel every time to search active application thereby depriving the need of Alt-Tab shortcut. I mean Alt-Tab alternative in more smarter way, though I also use Alt-Tab for the task Management purpose.

• I've had Tomboy twice delete a single important note. What's going on there?

  Not sure what's going on here, but here's the best I can describe: I use Tomboy extensively, for notes, collecting throw-away passwords,etc. Once a couple of months ago, a very important note just disappeared. No reference to the title, no deleting, no way of tracking it down---it was just like it had never existed. The same thing just happened today. I think the note in question was actually open when I rebooted, so maybe that's related. Has anyone else encountered something similar? EDIT: Happened 3 times Seems to be the last note I have open when shutting down (which is usually the most important) is deleted without a trace.

  Since I heard that indicator applets are going to replace the notification area, I wondered what was going to happen to applications that use the notification area and don't have an indicator applet? Is the Ubuntu team going to write an indicator applet for every application out there? You can't expect the developers of applications to add that Ubuntu-only task to their list. Don't get me wrong, I love the indicator applets. But I'm a little concerned about this.

• Argument list too long and copying to Samba Share

  Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit. I'm trying to make a scheduled task copy from a directory with thousands of files to a samba share (while skipping duplicates). I mapped my Samba share through the GUI. The command I tried: cp /home/security/Brick/* ~/.gvfs/"cam on atm-bak-01.local/Brick" -n I found this but I don't know how to change the syntax to what I need. find -maxdepth 1 -name '*.prj' -exec mv -t ../prjshp {} + Any hints are greatly appreciated.

  Our latest BizTalk Server 2010 development project is utilising BizTalk as the integration ring around a new and sizable implementaion of Dynamics AX 2012. With this project we have decided to use BAM to monitor the processes within our various new applications.Although I have been specialising in BizTalk for around 9 years, this is my first time using BAM so it is an interesting process to be going through.Recently when deploying a solution I was attempting to check the BAM Portal to see that the View that I had created was properly deployed and that the Activity I was populating was being surfaced in the Portal as expected. Initially I was presented with the message "No view to display" in the "My Views" area of the BAM Portal landing page.This was because you need to set the permissions on the views that you want to see from the command line using the bm.exe tool:bm.exe add-account -AccountName:YourServerOrDomain\YourUsername -View:YourViewThis tool can be found in the BAM folder at the BizTalk installation location:C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010\Tracking

  One of the puzzling aspects of hunting for Near Earth Asteroids is that more has been spent on Hollywood films about potential disasters should one hit the Earth than on finding them in the first place. While there are a number of on-going asteroid search programs, these are all Earth-based at the moment. The limitations of them are:Each telescope can only observe for a maximum average of 12 hours per day.As far as I am aware, all these programs are in the visible light only. (Once an asteroid is found, then radar tracking is possible when it is close.)Being Earth based they cannot see inside the Earth's orbit.The Asteroids being generally dark, do not show up well in visible light.A private group are proposing a radical alternative to this by orbiting an infra-red telescope in the orbit of Venus.   Independent of the App Store or Google Play, is there a way to track where new downloads or paying customers came from? For example, if an app advertises my app in theirs - is there a way for me to find out which users actually downloaded it? And then pay that app owner a commission? On the web this is done via a tracking URL which places a cookie on a users machine. If they signup within a designated timeframe, they are 'tracked to' whomever had their affiliate code in the URL they clicked and that person would receive commissions. How could this be done with native mobile apps, while not violating Apple/Google rules?

  As many know, if you serve a page over https and the content loads resources (images, stylesheets, js, SWF objects, etc) over http, older versions of Internet Explorer will show the user a warning saying "This page contains both secure and non-secure items". This is discomforting to many non-technical users. Usually, I can look at the HTML source and identify which item(s) are triggering this error. Sometimes a Flash object will load something else or some embedded javascript will put a new object in the DOM and trigger this. What tools are good for quickly tracking down the source of the warning?

• Kernel module implementation estimate

  I have a very abstract question about a kernel module writing estimate. How much dev-hours/months may required to write or, especially, port an existant kernel driver for a new PCI HBA from one operating system to another (with different kernel API)? I am porting an already written kernel module for 82599 for Linux kernel to OS X's IOKit and try to get a working alpha. I can't imagine for how long this task may expand in time.
