I want to be able to output a form or to get all information I'll need.   • Why do most web hosting services support only php as server-side language?

    Hello, I have been working with java and python, so I found a nice web host which has support for these. But my question is, why can you find so hard such hosts? I understand that php is easy, I also understand that oracle host is hard to find ($$$ of course), but what do they have against some good open-source, completely free java spring, jsp, django, python, ror, perl etc etc .... So rare to find hosts ... not to mention freelancer bids Thank you.

  • Is there a template engine for Node.js?

    I'm kind of falling in love with Node.js not because you write app code in javascript but because of its performance. I really don't care a lot about how beautiful a server side language might be but how much requests per second it can handle. So anyway I'm looking forward to experiment building an entire webapp using Node.js (and going back to the actual question) is there a template engine similar to let's say the django template engine or something similar (that at least allows you to extend base templates) available for Node.js?

    I usually see Ruby on Rails books using script/generate model Story name:string link:string which is a singular Story, while when it is controller script/generate controller Stories index then the Story now is Stories, which is plural. Is this a standard on Ruby on Rails? Is it true in other MVC frameworks too, like CakePHP, Symfony, Django, or TurboGears? I see that in the book Rails Space, the controller is also called User, which is the same as the model name, and it is the only exception I see.

  • Entity framework: Need a easy going, clean database migration solution.

    I'm using entity framework model first development, and I need to do database migration often, The EF database generation power pack doesn't help a lot, because that data migration never worked here. The database migration here I mean, change the model, and then I can update the existing database from the model, but creating a new one. Is there any free of charge tool here invented here yet? Or would this going to be a new feature of next EF release? PS: I love django's ORM.

  • How can I check for unused import in many Python files?

    I remember when I was developing in C++ or Java, the compiler usually complains for unused methods, functions or imports. In my Django project, I have a bunch of Python files which have gone through a number of iterations. Some of those files have a few lines of import statement at the top of the page and some of those imports are not used anymore. Is there a way to locate those unused imports besides eyeballing each one of them in each file? All my imports are explicit, I don't usually write from blah import *

    Hi, I have a list and a value and want to check if the value is not in the list. list = [u'first record', u'second record'] value = 'first record' if value not in list: do something however this is not working and I think it has something to do with the list values having a u at the start, how can I fix this? And before someone suggests the list is returned from Django queryset so I can't just take the u out of the code :) Thanks

I had this setup running some time ago with a different e-mail generator but pretty much the same template, and I can't figure out why it's not working. The permissions seem to be OK too. In order to further debug this issue, I need some logfiles. Are there any logfiles written by this command? Or are there any other suggestions to solve this issue?     Hello I have a setup of exim4 on domain1 in front of other server, domain2 (with sendmail). Second server have no direct access to internet, so domain1 is MX for domain2. And domain2 is set as hubbed_host in the exim4 on domain1. When spammer sends message for no_such_user@domain2, its sendmail do a reject: 550 5.1.1 <no_such_user@domain2>... User unknown Then, exim4 at domain1 do an auto-reply like this: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: no_such_user@domain2 SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<no_such_user@domain2>: host 10.0.0.1 [10.0.0.1]: 550 5.1.1 <no_such_user@domain2>... User unknown The spammers uses fake "from" field, and such generated messages are frozen by exim for a long time. How can I disable some or all autoreplies from exim4? Ideally, I want a filter, if message was not delivered with error "User unknown" than don't generate any autoreply from mailer-daemon. Thanks!

  • Sendmail delivering locally instead of to MTA in MX record

    Ok, so I've got a box named websrv1.mydomain.com. It's a web server running ubuntu, apache2, sendmail, etc. My email is outsourced to a third party. So in my DNS I've got MX set to mx.thirdparty.net. I've no reason to accept incoming mail on my web server, every email should be sent to the third party. This works correctly accept with sending mail from the webserver (aka via cron or console). So from my web server, if I send an email to [email protected], it just disappears. No errors, nothing in dead.letter, nothing. I can send to any other address with no issues. If I send to [email protected] it's delivered locally which is fine. 1) Doing an nslookup shows the mx record is correct. 2) Running /mx mydomain.com from sendmail -bt returns the correct result. 3) Running sendmail -bv [email protected] returns: sudo sendmail -bv [email protected] [email protected]... deliverable: mailer esmtp, host mydomain.com., user [email protected] 4) Running 3,0 [email protected], returns: 3,0 [email protected] canonify input: me @ mydomain . com Canonify2 input: me Canonify2 returns: me canonify returns: me parse input: me Parse0 input: me Parse0 returns: me Parse1 input: me MailerToTriple input: me MailerToTriple returns: me Parse1 returns: $# esmtp $@ mydomain . com . $: me parse returns: $# esmtp $@ mydomain . com . $: me So I'm at a loss. Sendmail seems to see the mx record, but it's not using it.

    I'm not an expert at procmail, but I have this code: DROPPRIVS=yes DEFAULT=$HOME/Maildir/ :0 * ? /usr/bin/test -d $DEFAULT || /bin/mkdir $DEFAULT { } :0 E { # Bail out if directory could not be created EXITCODE=127 HOST=bail.out } MAILDIR=$HOME/Maildir/ But, when the directory already exists, sometimes it will send a return email with this error: 554 5.3.0 unknown mailer error 127. The email still gets delivered, mind you, but it sends back an error code. I fixed this temporarily by commenting out the EXITCODE and HOST lines, but I'd like to know if there is a better solution. I found this block of code in multiple places across the net, but couldn't really find why this error was coming back to me. It seems to happen when I send an email to a local user, sometimes the user has a .forward file to send it on to other users, sometimes not, but the result has been the same. I also tried removing DROPPRIVS, just in case it was messing up the forwarding, but it did not seem to affect it. Is the line starting with * ? /usr/bin/test a problem? The * signifies a regex, but the ? makes it return an integer value, correct? What is the integer being matched against? Or is it just comparing the integer return value? Thanks for the help.

    I am running an email server on 77.245.64.44 and have recently started to have problems with remote delivery of emails sent using this server. Only about 5% of recipients are rejecting the emails, but they all share the following common message... Remote host said: 554 Your access to this mail system has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. As far as I can tell my server is not on any blacklists, and it is set up correctly (the reverse DNS checks out and so on). I'm not even sure what the "Sending MTA" is, but I assume it's my server.
