  • problem in adding image to the UIButton.

    - by monish
    Hi friends, I got an another problem in my application and I am wasting so much of time on that. Does pls anyone can help with this problem. Actually I had an Event and I should give rating for that event for that I wrote the code as: In CellForRowAtIndexPath......I had the code as: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tv cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:@"MasterViewIdentifier"]; //UITableViewCell *cell = nil; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:@"MasterViewIdentifier"] autorelease]; cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleNone; UIView* elementView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(20,170,320,280)]; elementView.tag = 0; elementView.backgroundColor=[UIColor clearColor]; [cell.contentView addSubview:elementView]; [elementView release]; } UIView* elementView = [cell.contentView viewWithTag:0]; elementView.backgroundColor=[UIColor clearColor]; for(UIView* subView in elementView.subviews) { [subView removeFromSuperview]; } if(indexPath.section == 8) { UIImage *whiteImg = [UIImage imageNamed:@"white_star.png"] ; UIImage *yellowImg = [UIImage imageNamed:@"yellow_Star.png"] ; UIButton *button1 = [[UIButton alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(159, 15, 25, 20)]; [button1 addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonAction:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; button1.tag = 1; UIButton *button2 = [[UIButton alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(185, 15, 25, 20)]; [button2 addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonAction:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; button2.tag = 2; UIButton *button3 = [[UIButton alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(211, 15, 25, 20)]; [button3 addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonAction:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; button3.tag = 3; UIButton *button4 = [[UIButton alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(237, 15, 25, 20)]; [button4 addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonAction:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; button4.tag = 4; UIButton *button5 = [[UIButton alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(263, 15, 25, 20)]; [button5 addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonAction:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; button5.tag = 5; if(event.eventRatings == 1) { [button1 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button2 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button3 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button4 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button5 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } else if(event.eventRatings == 2) { [button1 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button2 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button3 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button4 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button5 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } else if(event.eventRatings == 3) { [button1 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button2 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button3 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button4 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button5 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } else if(event.eventRatings == 4) { [button1 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button2 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button3 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button4 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button5 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } else if(event.eventRatings == 5) { [button1 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button2 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button3 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button4 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button5 setBackgroundImage:yellowImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } else { [button1 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button2 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button3 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button4 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button5 setBackgroundImage:whiteImg forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } [elementView addSubview:button1]; [button1 release]; [elementView addSubview:button2]; [button2 release]; [elementView addSubview:button3]; [button3 release]; [elementView addSubview:button4]; [button4 release]; [elementView addSubview:button5]; [button5 release]; if(isRightButton == YES) { button1.enabled = NO; button2.enabled = NO; button3.enabled = NO; button4.enabled = NO; button5.enabled = NO; } else if(isRightButton == NO) { button1.enabled = YES; button2.enabled = YES; button3.enabled = YES; button4.enabled = YES; button5.enabled = YES; } [elementView addSubview:ratingsTitleLabel]; cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryNone; } return cell; } And the action of the button is written as: -(void)buttonAction:(id)sender { rating = [sender tag]; printf("\n Ratig Value inside Button Action~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~%d",rating); event.eventRatings = rating; [tableView reloadData]; } When I build the application in simlator of 3.1.2 O.S its working fine by displaying the star images. My porblem is when I build it in 3.1.2 O.S Device the images are not displaying.I checked the code for casesensitivity in file name and its gud but Im not gettig the images to display. Guys help me to solve this. Thank you, Monish Kumar.

  • Can't re-mount existing RAID10 on Ubuntu

    I saw similar questions, but didn't find what solution to my problem. After power-cut, one of RAID10 (4 disks were) appears to be malfunctioning. I make tha array active one, but can not mount it. Always the same error: mount: you must specify the filesystem type So, here is what I have when type mdadm --detail /dev/md0 /dev/md0: Version : 00.90.03 Creation Time : Tue Sep 1 11:00:40 2009 Raid Level : raid10 Array Size : 1465148928 (1397.27 GiB 1500.31 GB) Used Dev Size : 732574464 (698.64 GiB 750.16 GB) Raid Devices : 4 Total Devices : 3 Preferred Minor : 0 Persistence : Superblock is persistent Update Time : Mon Jun 11 09:54:27 2012 State : clean, degraded Active Devices : 3 Working Devices : 3 Failed Devices : 0 Spare Devices : 0 Layout : near=2, far=1 Chunk Size : 64K UUID : 1a02e789:c34377a1:2e29483d:f114274d Events : 0.166 Number Major Minor RaidDevice State 0 8 16 0 active sync /dev/sdb 1 0 0 1 removed 2 8 48 2 active sync /dev/sdd 3 8 64 3 active sync /dev/sde At the /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf I have by default, scan all partitions (/proc/partitions) for MD superblocks. alternatively, specify devices to scan, using wildcards if desired. • Modifying and Manipulating a interactive bezier curve

    - by rachel
    This is a homework question and I'm having a lot of trouble with it - I've managed to do some of it but still cant finish it - can i Please get some help. Q1. Bezier Curves The following example allows you to interactively control a bezier curve by dragging the control points Cubic.java Replace the call to draw the cubic shape (big.draw(cubic)), by your own function to draw a bezier by the recursive split method. Finally, add the ability to create a longer Bezier curve by adding more control points to create a second curve. • Camera for 2.5D Game

    - by me--
    I'm hoping someone can explain this to me like I'm 5, because I've been struggling with this for hours and simply cannot understand what I'm doing wrong. I've written a Camera class for my 2.5D game. The intention is to support world and screen spaces like this: The camera is the black thing on the right. The +Z axis is upwards in that image, with -Z heading downwards. As you can see, both world space and screen space have (0, 0) at their top-left. I started writing some unit tests to prove that my camera was working as expected, and that's where things started getting...strange. My tests plot coordinates in world, view, and screen spaces. Eventually I will use image comparison to assert that they are correct, but for now my test just displays the result. The render logic uses Camera.ViewMatrix to transform world space to view space, and Camera.WorldPointToScreen to transform world space to screen space. Here is an example test: [Fact] public void foo() { var camera = new Camera(new Viewport(0, 0, 250, 100)); DrawingVisual worldRender; DrawingVisual viewRender; DrawingVisual screenRender; this.Render(camera, out worldRender, out viewRender, out screenRender, new Vector3(30, 0, 0), new Vector3(30, 40, 0)); this.ShowRenders(camera, worldRender, viewRender, screenRender); } And here's what pops up when I run this test: World space looks OK, although I suspect the z axis is going into the screen instead of towards the viewer. View space has me completely baffled. I was expecting the camera to be sitting above (0, 0) and looking towards the center of the scene. Instead, the z axis seems to be the wrong way around, and the camera is positioned in the opposite corner to what I expect! I suspect screen space will be another thing altogether, but can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong in my Camera class? UPDATE I made some progress in terms of getting things to look visually as I expect, but only through intuition: not an actual understanding of what I'm doing. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated. I realized that my view space was flipped both vertically and horizontally compared to what I expected, so I changed my view matrix to scale accordingly: this.viewMatrix = Matrix.CreateLookAt(this.location, this.target, this.up) * Matrix.CreateScale(this.zoom, this.zoom, 1) * Matrix.CreateScale(-1, -1, 1); I could combine the two CreateScale calls, but have left them separate for clarity. Again, I have no idea why this is necessary, but it fixed my view space: But now my screen space needs to be flipped vertically, so I modified my projection matrix accordingly: this.projectionMatrix = Matrix.CreatePerspectiveFieldOfView(0.7853982f, viewport.AspectRatio, 1, 2) * Matrix.CreateScale(1, -1, 1); And this results in what I was expecting from my first attempt: I have also just tried using Camera to render sprites via a SpriteBatch to make sure everything works there too, and it does. But the question remains: why do I need to do all this flipping of axes to get the space coordinates the way I expect? UPDATE 2 I've since improved my rendering logic in my test suite so that it supports geometries and so that lines get lighter the further away they are from the camera. I wanted to do this to avoid optical illusions and to further prove to myself that I'm looking at what I think I am. Here is an example: In this case, I have 3 geometries: a cube, a sphere, and a polyline on the top face of the cube. Notice how the darkening and lightening of the lines correctly identifies those portions of the geometries closer to the camera. If I remove the negative scaling I had to put in, I see: So you can see I'm still in the same boat - I still need those vertical and horizontal flips in my matrices to get things to appear correctly. In the interests of giving people a repro to play with, here is the complete code needed to generate the above. If you want to run via the test harness, just install the xunit package: Camera.cs: using Microsoft.Xna.Framework; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics; using System.Diagnostics; public sealed class Camera { private readonly Viewport viewport; private readonly Matrix projectionMatrix; private Matrix? viewMatrix; private Vector3 location; private Vector3 target; private Vector3 up; private float zoom; public Camera(Viewport viewport) { this.viewport = viewport; // defaults this.location = new Vector3(this.viewport.Width / 2, this.viewport.Height, 100); this.target = new Vector3(this.viewport.Width / 2, this.viewport.Height / 2, 0); this.up = new Vector3(0, 0, 1); this.zoom = 1; } public Viewport Viewport { get { return this.viewport; } } public Vector3 Location { get { return this.location; } set { this.location = value; this.viewMatrix = null; } } public Vector3 Target { get { return this.target; } set { this.target = value; this.viewMatrix = null; } } public Vector3 Up { get { return this.up; } set { this.up = value; this.viewMatrix = null; } } public float Zoom { get { return this.zoom; } set { this.zoom = value; • Can't configure PAM + LDAP on Debian Lenny - Getting error=49 on server logs

    - by Jorge Suárez de Lis
    I've been migrating some servers and desktops using Ubuntu 10.04 from getting the users from an old OpenLDAP implementation to a newer Centos Active Directory. I haven't had any problems so far, until I reached a Debian Lenny server. I've set up the server as the others, setting /etc/ldap.conf and /etc/ldap/ldap.conf. However, when I issue "getent passwd", I get nothing from the LDAP server. Reading the pam_ldap manpage, I realized that /etc/ldap.conf was not an accepted file by pam_ldap -it worked with Ubuntu though-, so I renamed it to /etc/pam_ldap.conf. Same result. However, once I've changed the name of this file, when I login using SSH I get this on the LDAP server logs: [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 fd=155 slot=155 connection from x.x.x.50 to 10.1.176.237 [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=0 BIND dn="uid=ubuntu,ou=Applications,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" method=128 version=3 [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=0 RESULT err=0 tag=97 nentries=0 etime=0 dn="uid=ubuntu,ou=applications,ou=citius,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=1 SRCH base="ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" scope=2 filter="(uid=jorge.suarez)" attrs=ALL [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=1 RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentries=1 etime=0 notes=U [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=2 BIND dn="uid=jorge.suarez,ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" method=128 version=3 [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=2 RESULT err=49 tag=97 nentries=0 etime=0 The password isn't working. I don't know that could be wrong, anything else seems to be OK. That user/password is working from another clients: [20/Jul/2012:11:29:39 +0200] conn=16528 fd=188 slot=188 connection from x.x.x.224 to 10.1.176.237 [20/Jul/2012:11:29:39 +0200] conn=16528 op=0 BIND dn="uid=ubuntu,ou=Applications,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" method=128 version=3 [20/Jul/2012:11:29:39 +0200] conn=16528 op=0 RESULT err=0 tag=97 nentries=0 etime=0 dn="uid=ubuntu,ou=applications,ou=citius,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" [20/Jul/2012:11:29:39 +0200] conn=16528 op=1 SRCH base="ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" scope=2 filter="(uid=jorge.suarez)" attrs=ALL [20/Jul/2012:11:29:39 +0200] conn=16528 op=1 RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentries=1 etime=0 notes=U [20/Jul/2012:11:29:39 +0200] conn=16528 op=2 BIND dn="uid=jorge.suarez,ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" method=128 version=3 [20/Jul/2012:11:29:39 +0200] conn=16528 op=2 RESULT err=0 tag=97 nentries=0 etime=0 dn="uid=jorge.suarez,ou=people,ou=citius,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" I'm using SSHA for storing passwords on the LDAP server. Maybe this is not supported by Debian Lenny? On pam_ldap.conf, I've set up this, as in all the other servers: # Do not hash the password at all; presume # the directory server will do it, if # necessary. This is the default. pam_password md5 Also tried clear, but it didn't work. Anyways, it's weird that issuing getent passwd still gets me no users. However, if I use pamtest from the package libpam-dotfile to test login, it works. # pamtest ssh jorge.suarez Trying to authenticate <jorge.suarez> for service <ssh>. Password: Authentication successful. # pamtest foo jorge.suarez Trying to authenticate <jorge.suarez> for service <foo>. Password: Authentication successful. But "su" won't work also: # su jorge.suarez Id. descoñecido: jorge.suarez Just the output from getent passwd : # getent passwd root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash daemon:x:1:1:daemon:/usr/sbin:/bin/sh bin:x:2:2:bin:/bin:/bin/sh sys:x:3:3:sys:/dev:/bin/sh sync:x:4:65534:sync:/bin:/bin/sync games:x:5:60:games:/usr/games:/bin/sh man:x:6:12:man:/var/cache/man:/bin/sh lp:x:7:7:lp:/var/spool/lpd:/bin/sh mail:x:8:8:mail:/var/mail:/bin/sh news:x:9:9:news:/var/spool/news:/bin/sh uucp:x:10:10:uucp:/var/spool/uucp:/bin/sh proxy:x:13:13:proxy:/bin:/bin/sh www-data:x:33:33:www-data:/var/www:/bin/sh backup:x:34:34:backup:/var/backups:/bin/sh list:x:38:38:Mailing List Manager:/var/list:/bin/sh irc:x:39:39:ircd:/var/run/ircd:/bin/sh gnats:x:41:41:Gnats Bug-Reporting System (admin):/var/lib/gnats:/bin/sh nobody:x:65534:65534:nobody:/nonexistent:/bin/sh libuuid:x:100:101::/var/lib/libuuid:/bin/sh Debian-exim:x:101:103::/var/spool/exim4:/bin/false statd:x:102:65534::/var/lib/nfs:/bin/false sshd:x:104:65534::/var/run/sshd:/usr/sbin/nologin luser:x:1000:1000:Usuario local de Burdeos,,,:/home/luser:/bin/bash messagebus:x:105:107::/var/run/dbus:/bin/false sge-admin:x:1001:1001:Administrador do SGE,,,:/home/cluster/sge-admin:/bin/bash ntp:x:107:110::/home/ntp:/bin/false haldaemon:x:108:111:Hardware abstraction layer,,,:/var/run/hald:/bin/false vde2-net:x:109:114::/var/run/vde2:/bin/false uml-net:x:110:115::/home/uml-net:/bin/false polkituser:x:111:116:PolicyKit,,,:/var/run/PolicyKit:/bin/false Debian-pxe:x:113:65534:Dummy user for Debian pxe package,,,:/home/Debian-pxe:/bin/false Nscd was stopped from the beginning.

  • fd partitions gone from 2 discs, md happy with it and resyncs. How to recover ?

    - by d0nd
    Hey gurus, need some help badly with this one. I run a server with a 6Tb md raid5 volume built over 7*1Tb disks. I've had to shut down the server lately and when it went back up, 2 out of the 7 disks used for the raid volume had lost its conf : dmesg : [ 10.184167] sda: sda1 sda2 sda3 // System disk [ 10.202072] sdb: sdb1 [ 10.210073] sdc: sdc1 [ 10.222073] sdd: sdd1 [ 10.229330] sde: sde1 [ 10.239449] sdf: sdf1 [ 11.099896] sdg: unknown partition table [ 11.255641] sdh: unknown partition table All 7 disks have same geometry and were configured alike : dmesg : Disk /dev/sdb: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x1e7481a5 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdb1 1 121601 976760001 fd Linux raid autodetect All 7 disks (sdb1, sdc1, sdd1, sde1, sdf1, sdg1, sdh1) were used in a md raid5 xfs volume. When booting, md, which was (obviously) out of sync kicked in and automatically started rebuilding over the 7 disks, including the two "faulty" ones; xfs tried to do some shenanigans as well: dmesg : [ 19.566941] md: md0 stopped. • How to get iTunes to recognize that certain ID3 tags have been removed from files?

    - by Nick Meyer
    I use MusicBrainz Picard to manage the ID3 tags on my MP3 collection and iTunes for playing them and managing my iPod. I have Picard set to remove the Composer tag from any files that don't also contain the word "Classical" in the Genre tag. I've run Picard and it has removed the Composer tag from many of my files. However, iTunes keeps displaying the old value of the Composer field. I have tried right-clicking on the file to update, choosing "Get Info" and clicking OK. This has no effect on the Composer field when it has been removed entirely; it only refreshes the displayed value when it has been changed from one non-empty value to another. How can I get iTunes to stop showing the old values for tags that have been removed? Please note I don't want to lose other iTunes metadata such as ratings and play counts, so removing the files from the iTunes library and re-adding them is not an option.

  • 301 redirect, canonical question

    - by Dave
    I've designed my own 'latest news' page for my site - and I'm trying to keep the URL's clean. (eg) It should look like this : http://www.domain.com/21/this-is-a-clean-url/ When someone links to the article, they sometimes mess it up and do : http://www.domain.com/21/this-is-a-clean-url/#random-hash-tag So what I have been doing is looking for "http://www.domain.com/21" and 301 (moved permantly) redirecting to the proper url + adding a canonical meta tag for it. Is this going overboard? Should I instead be using a (302 Found) header - and just let the canonical tag tell search engines what the proper URL for the article is? What is the best way of handling this?

  • Software for categorization with simple GUI

    - by rlesko
    Is there a simple software that would let me categorize, tag and search items that I input in it? It would be like a regular database but with a simplified GUI. I would add items with meaningful description and then categorize them and add tags. Then I would like to search (preferably real-time i.e. the search is showing results as I am typing) based on the item name/description, category or tag. The other option would obviously be that I just click the category or tag and it lists all the relevant results. List of categories and tags would also be a nice touch. Software is needed for Windows 7 or 8 or it can even be a Web app.

  • How to decrypt a string in C# that was encrypted in Delphi

    - by Simon Linder
    Hi all, we have a project written in Delphi that we want to convert to C#. Problem is that we have some passwords and settings that are encrypted and written into the registry. When we need a specified password we get it from the registry and decrypt it so we can use it. For the conversion into C# we have to do it the same way so that the application can also be used by users that have the old version and want to upgrade it. Here is the code we use to encrypt/decrypt strings in Delphi: unit uCrypt; interface function EncryptString(strPlaintext, strPassword : String) : String; function DecryptString(strEncryptedText, strPassword : String) : String; implementation uses DCPcrypt2, DCPblockciphers, DCPdes, DCPmd5; const CRYPT_KEY = '1q2w3e4r5t6z7u8'; function EncryptString(strPlaintext) : String; var cipher : TDCP_3des; strEncryptedText : String; begin if strPlaintext <> '' then begin try cipher := TDCP_3des.Create(nil); try cipher.InitStr(CRYPT_KEY, TDCP_md5); strEncryptedText := cipher.EncryptString(strPlaintext); finally cipher.Free; end; except strEncryptedText := ''; end; end; Result := strEncryptedText; end; function DecryptString(strEncryptedText) : String; var cipher : TDCP_3des; strDecryptedText : String; begin if strEncryptedText <> '' then begin try cipher := TDCP_3des.Create(nil); try cipher.InitStr(CRYPT_KEY, TDCP_md5); strDecryptedText := cipher.DecryptString(strEncryptedText); finally cipher.Free; end; except strDecryptedText := ''; end; end; Result := strDecryptedText; end; end. So for example when we want to encrypt the string asdf1234 we get the result WcOb/iKo4g8=. We now want to decrypt that string in C#. Here is what we tried to do: public static void Main(string[] args) { string Encrypted = "WcOb/iKo4g8="; string Password = "1q2w3e4r5t6z7u8"; string DecryptedString = DecryptString(Encrypted, Password); } public static string DecryptString(string Message, string Passphrase) { byte[] Results; System.Text.UTF8Encoding UTF8 = new System.Text.UTF8Encoding(); // Step 1. We hash the passphrase using MD5 // We use the MD5 hash generator as the result is a 128 bit byte array // which is a valid length for the TripleDES encoder we use below MD5CryptoServiceProvider HashProvider = new MD5CryptoServiceProvider(); byte[] TDESKey = HashProvider.ComputeHash(UTF8.GetBytes(Passphrase)); // Step 2. Create a new TripleDESCryptoServiceProvider object TripleDESCryptoServiceProvider TDESAlgorithm = new TripleDESCryptoServiceProvider(); // Step 3. Setup the decoder TDESAlgorithm.Key = TDESKey; TDESAlgorithm.Mode = CipherMode.ECB; TDESAlgorithm.Padding = PaddingMode.None; // Step 4. Convert the input string to a byte[] byte[] DataToDecrypt = Convert.FromBase64String(Message); // Step 5. Attempt to decrypt the string try { ICryptoTransform Decryptor = TDESAlgorithm.CreateDecryptor(); Results = Decryptor.TransformFinalBlock(DataToDecrypt, 0, DataToDecrypt.Length); } finally { // Clear the TripleDes and Hashprovider services of any sensitive information TDESAlgorithm.Clear(); HashProvider.Clear(); } // Step 6. Return the decrypted string in UTF8 format return UTF8.GetString(Results); } Well the result differs from the expected result. After we call DecryptString() we expect to get asdf1234but we get something else. Does anyone have an idea of how to decrypt that correctly? Thanks in advance Simon

  • asp.net image aspect ratio help

So if i had an image... say 600 x 120 (w h) and i used photoshop to change just the height, it would keep it in ratio and have it 300 x 60 (w x h). Thats what i am looking to do with this code here. However, i can not think of a way to do this (or to just leave a wildcard for the width setting. Any help would be great :o) David

  • Marking multi-level nested forms as "dirty" in Rails

    - by Charles Kihe
    I have a three-level multi-nested form in Rails. The setup is like this: Projects have many Milestones, and Milestones have many Notes. The goal is to have everything editable within the page with JavaScript, where we can add multiple new Milestones to a Project within the page, and add new Notes to new and existing Milestones. Everything works as expected, except that when I add new notes to an existing Milestone (new Milestones work fine when adding notes to them), the new notes won't save unless I edit any of the fields that actually belong to the Milestone to mark the form "dirty"/edited. Is there a way to flag the Milestone so that the new Notes that have been added will save? Edit: sorry, it's hard to paste in all of the code because there's so many parts, but here goes: Models class Project < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :notes, :dependent => :destroy has_many :milestones, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :milestones, :allow_destroy => true accepts_nested_attributes_for :notes, :allow_destroy => true, :reject_if => proc { |attributes| attributes['content'].blank? } end class Milestone < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :project has_many :notes, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :notes, :allow_destroy => true, :allow_destroy => true, :reject_if => proc { |attributes| attributes['content'].blank? } end class Note < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :milestone belongs_to :project scope :newest, lambda { |*args| order('created_at DESC').limit(*args.first || 3) } end I'm using an jQuery-based, unobtrusive version of Ryan Bates' combo helper/JS code to get this done. Application Helper def add_fields_for_association(f, association, partial) new_object = f.object.class.reflect_on_association(association).klass.new fields = f.fields_for(association, new_object, :child_index => "new_#{association}") do |builder| render(partial, :f => builder) end end I render the form for the association in a hidden div, and then use the following JavaScript to find it and add it as needed. JavaScript function addFields(link, association, content, func) { var newID = new Date().getTime(); var regexp = new RegExp("new_" + association, "g"); var form = content.replace(regexp, newID); var link = $(link).parent().next().before(form).prev(); if (func) { func.call(); } return link; } I'm guessing the only other relevant piece of code that I can think of would be the create method in the NotesController: def create respond_with(@note = @owner.notes.create(params[:note])) do |format| format.js { render :json => @owner.notes.newest(3).all.to_json } format.html { redirect_to((@milestone ? [@project, @milestone, @note] : [@project, @note]), :notice => 'Note was successfully created.') } end end The @owner ivar is created in the following before filter: def load_milestone @milestone = @project.milestones.find(params[:milestone_id]) if params[:milestone_id] end def determine_owner @owner = load_milestone @owner ||= @project end Thing is, all this seems to work fine, except when I'm adding new notes to existing milestones. The milestone has to be "touched" in order for new notes to save, or else Rails won't pay attention.

  • How to create a HTML5 + SVG document using the PHP XSLTProcessor

    - by Kau-Boy
    For a little project about XML I try to use HTML5 as it has SVG and WAI-ARIA Support. I also want to use a XSL stylesheet for my document. But I can't get a valid HTML5 document with a nested SVG. Here are some version I tested so far: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output indent="yes" method="xml"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> // content with the svg tag in the body </html> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> In combination with header('Content-Type: application/xml'); it works and produces this HTML output: <?xml version="1.0"?> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> // content with the svg tag in the body </html> But it is not HTML5 and without a DOCTYPE I get a lot of errors on the W3 validator. So trying to get a HTML5 document I used the following XSL: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output indent="yes" method="html"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <xsl:text disable-output-escaping='yes'>&lt;!DOCTYPE HTML></xsl:text> <html> // content with the svg tag in the body </html> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> But unfortunately that will produce thze following HTML output: <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> .... </head> // content with the svg tag in the body </html> As you can see it's regular HTML5 but using it in combination with header('Content-Type: application/xml'); it fails because of the missing slash at the end of the meta tag (which was automatically created). Using header('Content-Type: image/xhtml+svg'); or header('Content-Type: text/html'); there is no XML parsing error, but the page will not show the SVG as a graph but as text (without the tags). Can anyone tell me how to avoid the meta tag to be inserted or how to set a propper Content-Type that will make the browser rendern the SVG. Or even any other hint to get this working. I would really like to keep HTML5 to be able to keep the WAI-ARIA Landmark Roles an the HTML5 tags like NAV and FOOTER.

  • FullCalendar displaying last weeks events below this weeks events

    - by Brian
    I am developing an application to manage an On-Call calendar, using FullCalendar to render it. Most events are 1 week long, starting at 8:00 AM Tuesday and ending the following Tuesday at 8:00 AM. Another event, presumably with a different person on-call, will follow that event. During a hallway usability test, someone commented that the month calendar view was difficult to read because the previous weeks event is not at the top of the stack, instead rendering below the event that starts during that week. When being viewed, the eye perceives that it should go down 1 line to view the remaining timeline because the event from last week is there, instead of moving down to the following week. I investigated what I believe to be the problem: function segCmp(a, b) { return (b.msLength - a.msLength) * 100 + (a.event.start - b.event.start); } sorts the events for a row, but uses the length of the event in the calculation. Since the current week's event will have a longer duration, it always get sorted to the top. To test, I changed the start dates to Wednesday so the durations are closer. This cause the events to render how I would expect, with last weeks events at the top and this weeks at the bottom. I thought that if one of the events in the compare doesn't start that week, then it should only be compared based on the start times. I modified the function to be: function segCmp(a, b) { if (a.isStart == false || b.isStart == false) { return (a.event.start - b.event.start); } return (b.msLength - a.msLength) * 100 + (a.event.start - b.event.start); } This solved my problem, and the rendering now looks good - and passes the hallway test. What I don't know is if this would have an impact in other areas. I have taken a look at the other views (month, week, day) and they all seem to be rendering properly as well. I am just not familiar with FullCalendar enough to file a bug or feature request on this, or if this would even be considered a bug. I am wondering if what I modified is correct, or if it is not what a better modification would be to fix this issue. Thanks! Below I have the json results for what should be displayed: [{"title":"Person 1 - OnCall (OSS On Call)","id":12,"allDay":false,"start":"2010-11-30T15:00:00.0000000Z","end":"2010-12-07T15:00:00.0000000Z","editable":false,"className":"fc-event-title-calendar","url":"/TimeManagement/Edit/12"}, {"title":"Person 2 - OnCall (OSS On Call)","id":13,"allDay":false,"start":"2010-12-07T15:00:00.0000000Z","end":"2010-12-14T15:00:00.0000000Z","editable":false,"className":"fc-event-title-calendar","url":"/TimeManagement/Edit/13"}, {"title":"Person 3 - OnCall (OSS On Call)","id":14,"allDay":false,"start":"2010-12-14T15:00:00.0000000Z","end":"2010-12-21T15:00:00.0000000Z","editable":false,"className":"fc-event-title-calendar","url":"/TimeManagement/Edit/14"}, {"title":"Person 4 - OnCall (OSS On Call)","id":15,"allDay":false,"start":"2010-12-21T15:00:00.0000000Z","end":"2010-12-28T15:00:00.0000000Z","editable":false,"className":"fc-event-title-calendar","url":"/TimeManagement/Edit/15"}, {"title":"Person 5 - OnCall (OSS On Call)","id":16,"allDay":false,"start":"2010-12-28T15:00:00.0000000Z","end":"2011-01-04T15:00:00.0000000Z","editable":false,"className":"fc-event-title-calendar","url":"/TimeManagement/Edit/16"}, {"title":"Person 6 - OnCall (OSS On Call)","id":17,"allDay":false,"start":"2011-01-04T15:00:00.0000000Z","end":"2011-01-11T15:00:00.0000000Z","editable":false,"className":"fc-event-title-calendar","url":"/TimeManagement/Edit/17"}, {"title":"Christmas","id":2,"allDay":true,"start":"2010-12-25T07:00:00.0000000Z","end":null,"editable":false,"className":"fc-event-title-calendar","url":"/TimeManagement/Edit/2"}, {"title":"New Years Eve","id":3,"allDay":true,"start":"2010-12-31T07:00:00.0000000Z","end":null,"editable":false,"className":"fc-event-title-calendar","url":"/TimeManagement/Edit/3"}, {"title":"New Years Day","id":4,"allDay":true,"start":"2011-01-01T07:00:00.0000000Z","end":null,"editable":false,"className":"fc-event-title-calendar","url":"/TimeManagement/Edit/4"}]

  • Beginner questions on Java Regular Expression

    - by Robert
    Hello everyone. I began studying Java Regular Expression recently and I found some really intersting task.For example,I now need to dig out "Product Name","Product Description" and "Sellers for this product" out of the following HTML code.(I am sorry for the big chunck of code,but it is very straightforward) <td class="sr-check"> <input type="checkbox" name="cptitle" value="678560038" /></td> <td class="sr-image" style="width: 80px;"><a href="/Nikon-D300S-12-3-678560038/prices-html" class="strictRule" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://img01.static-nextag.com/image/Nikon-D300S-12-3-MP-Digital-SLR-Camera-Body-Black/0/000/006/789/461/678946110.jpg" alt="Nikon D300S 12.3 MP Digital SLR Camera Body - Black" class="imageLink strictRule" height="75" width="75" id="opILink_0" title="Nikon Digital Cameras - Nikon D300S 12.3 MP Digital SLR Camera Body - Black" /></a><div class="breaker">&nbsp;</div></td> <td class="sr-info"> <div class="sr-info"> <a id="opPNLink_0" class="underline" style="font-size:16px" href="/Nikon-D300S-12-3-678560038 /prices-html" >Nikon D300S 12.3 MP <b>Digital</b> SLR <b>Camera</b> Body - Black</a> <div class="sr-subinfo"> <div class="sr-info-description">SLR - 13.1MP, 12.3MP - 1x Optical Zoom - CompactFlash, SD/MMC Memory Card - 3in.</div> <div class="rating"> <img src="http://img01.static-nextag.com/imagefiles/stars/stars4_10px.gif" alt="4/5 stars" title="4/5 stars" /> (92 user ratings)</div> <div style="clear: both;"> <!-- nxtginc=nextag.api.ServerInclude$JSPIncludeWriter(/buyer/ATLSSI.jsp?ptid=678560038&dts=y) --> <a id="_atl_0" style="" href="http://www.nextag.com/serv/main/buyer/MyPDir.jsp?list=_transCookieList&amp;cmd=add&amp;ptitle=678560038" rel="nofollow">+ Add to Shopping List</a> &nbsp;|&nbsp; <!-- endnxtginc --> <a rel="nofollow" id="mltLink_0" class="mlt-link" href="/Digital-Cameras--zz500001z2z678560038zB2dgz5---html">See More Like This</a> </div> <div id="fsLink_0" class="featuredSeller"> <a rel="nofollow" class="featuredSeller" id="opFSLink_0_0" href="/norob/PtitleSeller.jsp?chnl=main&amp;tag=785646073amp;ctx=x%2BN%2Fs9zy56l4u8RXCzALE1jeLesDMzeK09rPQEdK3Yjx395ZzX9cMh9N5JAxjk7xPqF9hjk2ztM5IRXU5nspLubIXYaVzI%2B%2Fg7h1Qz58TzgvrWuNawV8qEIqqSmClArWMq6mpzNRuSlgg2xCXYObNnaIH00iKSUmBawDRvecwbCpAxhXgXoLEiEinTwr3EipComdzxL9UHFYTLoWUToUB5SRSsolQmEJ3mgnnvu83%2FC8W34TGpN9mJo%2BnyAeTkt4&amp;ptitle=678560038" target="_blank" >Thundercameras</a>:$1,289 &nbsp; <a rel="nofollow" class="featuredSeller" id="opFSLink_0_1" href="/norob/PtitleSeller.jsp?chnl=main&amp;tag=797076595&amp;ctx=x%2BN%2Fs9zy56l4u8RXCzALE1jeLesDMzeK09rPQEdK3Yjx395ZzX9cMh9N5JAxjk7xPqF9hjk2ztM5IRXU5nspLubIXYaVzI%2B%2Fg7h1Qz58TzgvrWuNawV8qEIqqSmClArWMq6mpzNRuSlgg2xCXYObNrcWLhL%2BhryuAGhXNhYSPE%2BpAxhXgXoLEiEinTwr3EipComdzxL9UHFYTLoWUToUB5SRSsolQmEJ3mgnnvu83%2FC8W34TGpN9mJo%2BnyAeTkt4&amp;ptitle=678560038" target="_blank" >PhotoVideoSuperStore</a>:$1,269 &nbsp; <a rel="nofollow" class="featuredSeller" id="opFSLink_0_2" href="/norob/PtitleSeller.jsp?chnl=main&amp;tag=803555293&amp;ctx=x%2BN%2Fs9zy56l4u8RXCzALE1jeLesDMzeK09rPQEdK3Yjx395ZzX9cMh9N5JAxjk7xPqF9hjk2ztM5IRXU5nspLubIXYaVzI%2B%2Fg7h1Qz58TzgvrWuNawV8qEIqqSmClArWMq6mpzNRuSlgg2xCXYObNt06qcvLJ5UQz7S3zKd4urWpAxhXgXoLEiEinTwr3EipComdzxL9UHFYTLoWUToUB5SRSsolQmEJ3mgnnvu83%2FC8W34TGpN9mJo%2BnyAeTkt4&amp;ptitle=678560038" target="_blank" >Digitalelect</a>:$1,279 &nbsp;</div> I would think of : (1) digging out the product name from <td class="sr-image >tag,and using regular expression exp ="<td><span\\s+class=\"sr-image\"[^>]*>" + ".*?</span><a href=\"" + "([^\"]+)" + "\"[^>]*>" + "([^<]+)" + "</a>.*?</td>"; (2) digging out the product info from the <div class="sr-info-description"> tag. exp = "<div class="sr-info-description"> [^>]*>" (3) digging out the Sellers' names from <div id="fsLink_0" class="featuredSeller"> tag. exp = "<div id="fslink_0" class="featuredSeller[^>]*>" + ".*?</span><a rel=\"" + "([^\"]+)" + "\"[^>]*>" + "([^<]+)" + "</a>.*?</td>"; I am just beginning learing using Java Regular Expression,I would be grateful if you could correct me if I am in the wrong track or my regular expressiona are wrong.   • Delphi7 - How can i copy a file that is being written to

    - by Simon
    I have an application that logs information to a daily text file every second on a master PC. A Slave PC on the network using the same application would like to copy this text file to its local drive. I can see there is going to be file access issues. These files should be no larger than 30-40MB each. the network will be 100MB ethernet. I can see there is potential for the copying process to take longer than 1 second meaning the logging PC will need to open the file for writing while it is being read. What is the best method for the file writing(logging) and file copying procedures? I know there is the standard Windows CopyFile() procedure, however this has given me file access problems. There is also TFileStream using the fmShareDenyNone flag, but this also very occasionally gives me an access problem too (like 1 per week). What is this the best way of accomplishing this task? My current File Logging: procedure FSWriteline(Filename,Header,s : String); var LogFile : TFileStream; line : String; begin if not FileExists(filename) then begin LogFile := TFileStream.Create(FileName, fmCreate or fmShareDenyNone); try LogFile.Seek(0,soFromEnd); line := Header + #13#10; LogFile.Write(line[1],Length(line)); line := s + #13#10; LogFile.Write(line[1],Length(line)); finally logfile.Free; end; end else begin line := s + #13#10; Logfile:=tfilestream.Create(Filename,fmOpenWrite or fmShareDenyNone); try logfile.Seek(0,soFromEnd); Logfile.Write(line[1], length(line)); finally Logfile.free; end; end; end; My file copy procedure: procedure DoCopy(infile, Outfile : String); begin ForceDirectories(ExtractFilePath(outfile)); //ensure folder exists if FileAge(inFile) = FileAge(OutFile) then Exit; //they are the same modified time try { Open existing destination } fo := TFileStream.Create(Outfile, fmOpenReadWrite or fmShareDenyNone); fo.Position := 0; except { otherwise Create destination } fo := TFileStream.Create(OutFile, fmCreate or fmShareDenyNone); end; try { open source } fi := TFileStream.Create(InFile, fmOpenRead or fmShareDenyNone); try cnt:= 0; fi.Position := cnt; max := fi.Size; {start copying } Repeat dod := BLOCKSIZE; // Block size if cnt+dod>max then dod := max-cnt; if dod>0 then did := fo.CopyFrom(fi, dod); cnt:=cnt+did; Percent := Round(Cnt/Max*100); until (dod=0) finally fi.free; end; finally fo.free; end; end;

  • Mysql optimization question - How to apply AND logic in search and limit on results in one query?

    - by sandeepan-nath
    This is a little long but I have provided all the database structures and queries so that you can run it immediately and help me. Run the following queries:- CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `Tutor_Details` ( `id_tutor` int(10) NOT NULL auto_increment, `firstname` varchar(100) NOT NULL default '', `surname` varchar(155) NOT NULL default '', PRIMARY KEY (`id_tutor`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=41 ; INSERT INTO `Tutor_Details` (`id_tutor`,`firstname`, `surname`) VALUES (1, 'Sandeepan', 'Nath'), (2, 'Bob', 'Cratchit'); CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `Classes` ( `id_class` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment, `id_tutor` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0', `class_name` varchar(255) default NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id_class`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 AUTO_INCREMENT=229 ; INSERT INTO `Classes` (`id_class`,`class_name`, `id_tutor`) VALUES (1, 'My Class', 1), (2, 'Sandeepan Class', 2); CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `Tags` ( `id_tag` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment, `tag` varchar(255) default NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id_tag`), UNIQUE KEY `tag` (`tag`), KEY `id_tag` (`id_tag`), KEY `tag_2` (`tag`), KEY `tag_3` (`tag`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=18 ; INSERT INTO `Tags` (`id_tag`, `tag`) VALUES (1, 'Bob'), (6, 'Class'), (2, 'Cratchit'), (4, 'Nath'), (3, 'Sandeepan'), (5, 'My'); CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `Tutors_Tag_Relations` ( `id_tag` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0', `id_tutor` int(10) default NULL, KEY `Tutors_Tag_Relations` (`id_tag`), KEY `id_tutor` (`id_tutor`), KEY `id_tag` (`id_tag`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; INSERT INTO `Tutors_Tag_Relations` (`id_tag`, `id_tutor`) VALUES (3, 1), (4, 1), (1, 2), (2, 2); CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `Class_Tag_Relations` ( `id_tag` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0', `id_class` int(10) default NULL, `id_tutor` int(10) NOT NULL, KEY `Class_Tag_Relations` (`id_tag`), KEY `id_class` (`id_class`), KEY `id_tag` (`id_tag`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; INSERT INTO `Class_Tag_Relations` (`id_tag`, `id_class`, `id_tutor`) VALUES (5, 1, 1), (6, 1, 1), (3, 2, 2), (6, 2, 2); Following is about the tables:- There are tutors who create classes. Tutor_Details - Stores tutors Classes - Stores classes created by tutors And for searching we are using a tags based approach. All the keywords are stored in tags table (while classes/tutors are created) and tag relations are entered in Tutor_Tag_Relations and Class_Tag_Relations tables (for tutors and classes respectively)like this:- Tags - id_tag tag (this is a a unique field) Tutors_Tag_Relations - Stores tag relations while the tutors are created. Class_Tag_Relations - Stores tag relations while any tutor creates a class In the present data in database, tutor "Sandeepan Nath" has has created class "My Class" and "Bob Cratchit" has created "Sandeepan Class". 3.Requirement The requirement is to return tutor records from Tutor_Details table such that all the search terms (AND logic) are present in the union of these two sets - 1. Tutor_Details table 2. classes created by a tutor in Classes table) Example search and expected results:- Search Term Result "Sandeepan Class" Tutor Sandeepan Nath's record from Tutor Details table "Class" Both the tutors from ... Most importantly, there should be only one mysql query and a LIMIT applicable on the number of results. Following is a working query which I have so far written (It just applies OR logic of search key words instead of the desired AND logic). SELECT td . * FROM Tutor_Details AS td LEFT JOIN Tutors_Tag_Relations AS ttagrels ON td.id_tutor = ttagrels.id_tutor LEFT JOIN Classes AS wc ON td.id_tutor = wc.id_tutor INNER JOIN Class_Tag_Relations AS wtagrels ON td.id_tutor = wtagrels.id_tutor LEFT JOIN Tags AS t ON t.id_tag = ttagrels.id_tag OR t.id_tag = wtagrels.id_tag WHERE t.tag LIKE '%Sandeepan%' OR t.tag LIKE '%Nath%' GROUP BY td.id_tutor LIMIT 20 Please help me with anything you can. Thanks

  • how to user ajax with json in ruby on rails

    - by fenec
    I am implemeting a facebook application in rails using facebooker plugin, therefore it is very important to use this architecture if i want to update multiple DOM in my page. if my code works in a regular rails application it would work in my facebook application. i am trying to use ajax to let the user know that the comment was sent, and update the comments bloc. migration: class CreateComments < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :comments do |t| t.string :body t.timestamps end end def self.down drop_table :comments end end controller: class CommentsController < ApplicationController def index @comments=Comment.all end def create @comment=Comment.create(params[:comment]) if request.xhr? @comments=Comment.all render :json=>{:ids_to_update=>[:all_comments,:form_message], :all_comments=>render_to_string(:partial=>"comments" ), :form_message=>"Your comment has been added." } else redirect_to comments_url end end end view: <script> function update_count(str,message_id) { len=str.length; if (len < 200) { $(message_id).innerHTML="<span style='color: green'>"+ (200-len)+" remaining</span>"; } else { $(message_id).innerHTML="<span style='color: red'>"+ "Comment too long. Only 200 characters allowed.</span>"; } } function update_multiple(json) { for( var i=0; i<json["ids_to_update"].length; i++ ) { id=json["ids_to_update"][i]; $(id).innerHTML=json[id]; } } </script> <div id="all_comments" > <%= render :partial=>"comments/comments" %> </div> Talk some trash: <br /> <% remote_form_for Comment.new, :url=>comments_url, :success=>"update_multiple(request)" do |f|%> <%= f.text_area :body, :onchange=>"update_count(this.getValue(),'remaining');" , :onkeyup=>"update_count(this.getValue(),'remaining');" %> <br /> <%= f.submit 'Post'%> <% end %> <p id="remaining" >&nbsp;</p> <p id="form_message" >&nbsp;</p> <br><br> <br> if i try to do alert(json) in the first line of the update_multiple function , i got an [object Object]. if i try to do alert(json["ids_to_update"][0]) in the first line of the update_multiple function , there is no dialog box displayed. however the comment got saved but nothing is updated. questions: 1.how can javascript and rails know that i am dealing with json objects? 2.how can i debug this problem? 3.how can i get it to work?

  • BFS Shortest Path: Edge weight either 1 or 2

    - by Hackster
    I am trying to implement a shortest path algorithm using BFS. That is I am trying to find the shortest path from a specified vertex to every other vertex. However, its a special case where all edge weights are either 1 or 2. I know it could be done with Dijkstra's algorithm but I must use Breadth First Search. So far I have a working version of BFS that searches first for a vertex connected with an edge of weight 1. If it cannot find it, then returns a vertex connected with an edge of weight 2. After thinking about it, this is not the correct way to find the shortest path. The problem is I cannot think of any reasoning why BFS would work with weights 1 or 2, as opposed to any weight. Here is the code: public void addEdge(int start, int end, int weight) { adjMat[start][end] = 1; adjMat[end][start] = 1; edge_weight[start][end] = weight; edge_weight[end][start] = weight; } // ------------------------------------------------------------- public void bfs() // breadth-first search { // begin at vertex 0 vertexList[0].wasVisited = true; // mark it displayVertex(0); // display it theQueue.insert(0); // insert at tail int v2; while( !theQueue.isEmpty() ) // until queue empty, { int v1 = theQueue.remove(); // remove vertex at head // until it has no unvisited neighbors while( (v2=getAdjUnvisitedVertex(v1)) != -1 ){// get one, vertexList[v2].wasVisited = true; // mark it displayVertex(v2); // display it theQueue.insert(v2); // insert it } } // end while(queue not empty) // queue is empty, so we're done for(int j=0; j<nVerts; j++) // reset flags vertexList[j].wasVisited = false; } // end bfs() // ------------------------------------------------------------- // returns an unvisited vertex adj to v -- ****WITH WEIGHT 1**** public int getAdjUnvisitedVertex(int v) { for (int j = 0; j < nVerts; j++) if (adjMat[v][j] == 1 && vertexList[j].wasVisited == false && edge_weight[v][j] == 1){ //System.out.println("Vertex found with 1:"+ vertexList[j].label); return j; } for (int k = 0; k < nVerts; k++) if (adjMat[v][k] == 1 && vertexList[k].wasVisited == false && edge_weight[v][k] == 2){ //System.out.println("Vertex found with 2:"+vertexList[k].label); return k; } return -1; } // end getAdjUnvisitedVertex() // ------------------------------------------------------------- } //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// public class BFS{ public static void main(String[] args) { Graph theGraph = new Graph(); theGraph.addVertex('A'); // 0 (start for bfs) theGraph.addVertex('B'); // 1 theGraph.addVertex('C'); // 2 theGraph.addEdge(0, 1,2); // AB theGraph.addEdge(1, 2,1); // BC theGraph.addEdge(2, 0,1); // AD System.out.print("Visits: "); theGraph.bfs(); // breadth-first search System.out.println(); } // end main() } The problem then is, that I don't know why BFS can work for the shortest path problem with edges of weight 1 or 2 as opposed to any edges of any weight. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    Original source of MsSql SP is here.. http://www.codeproject.com/KB/database/InsertGeneratorPack.aspx I am using the below MySql stored procedure, created by SQLWAYS [Tool to convert MsSql to MySql]. The purpose of this is to take backup of selected tables to a script file. when the SP returns a value {Insert statements}.
