  • Scala 2.8.1 implicitly convert to java.util.List<java.util.Map<String, Object>>

    I have a Scala data structure created with the following: List(Map[String, Anyref]("a" -> someFoo, "b" -> someBar)) I would like to implicitly convert it (using scala.collection.JavaConversions or scala.collection.JavaConverters) to a java.util.List<java.util.Map<String, Object>> to be passed the a Java method that expects the latter. Is this possible?   • How should I properly format this code?

    Hi, I've a small issue here. I am using an if statement with UIAlertView and I have two situations, both result in UIAlertViews. However, in one situation, I want to dismiss just the UIAlertView, the other, I want the UIAlertView to be dismissed and view to return to root view.     Far as best practices are concerned, which is better: public void SomeMethod(string str) { if(string.IsNullOrEmpty(str)) { throw new ArgumentException("str cannot be null or empty."); } // do other stuff } or public void SomeMethod(string str) { if(str == null) { throw new ArgumentNullException("str"); } if(str == string.Empty) { throw new ArgumentException("str cannot be empty."); } // do other stuff } The second version seems more precise, but also more cumbersome than the first. I usually go with #1, but figured I'd check if there's an argument to be made for #2.

    Hi, I am trying to implement FilePathCollection. Its items would be simple file names (without a path - such as "image.jpg"). Once the collection is used via foreach cycle, it should return the full path created by concatenating with "baseDirectory".     Does anybody know for what the acronym ZIP stands for which was and is used in programs like PKZIP and GZIP? There is a compression algorithm named Lempel-Ziv-Welch-Algorithm (LZW) maybe the guy named Ziv invented together with other people ZIP? I cannot find anything about it, maybe its not an abbreviation but instead it just means "to zip files" but I think originally there was more about it..

  • Convert an XML object back into a string in ColdFusion

    In ColdFusion, I can parse a string of XML formatted data into an XML Object using xmlParse(). How can I convert it back into a string? When I tried using toString() it throws an error that "it can't convert complex object to simple objects....", which is ironic because that's what it's supposed to do. I need to use XMLTransform() which requires the first argument to be an xml string. But I also need to use xmlSearch() to get a node to pass into my transform, and xmlSearch returns an xmlObject. So now I need to put that object back into xml string format to pass into xmlTransform.

I've tried with string(//div) but it only returns the string-value of the first node in the set. Most of the formats in the variable are shown above- there are a couple of very rare others too. The reason why there are multiple formats is that the data were pulled together from various websites that each used different formats. I have tried using straightforward conversions e.g. strftime(mydf$date,"%d/%m/%Y") but these sorts of conversion will not work if there are multiple formats. I don't want to resort to multiple gsub type editing. I was wondering if I am missing a more simple solution? (b g r) padding Where r, g, b are byte each, padding is to round row length up to a multiple of 4 bytes. So, how can I create new BufferedImage from this raw data without copying, just using this raw data? I took a look at creating BufferedImage from DataBuffer, but I just didn't get it. Unfortunately ImageIO is not allowed in my situation.

It says: template<class InputIterator> string (InputIterator begin, InputIterator end); If InputIterator is an integral type, behaves as the sixth constructor version (the one right above this) by typecasting begin and end to call it: string(static_cast<size_t>(begin),static_cast<char>(end)); In any other case, the parameters are taken as iterators, and the content is initialized with the values of the elements that go from the element referred by iterator begin to the element right before the one referred by iterator end. So what does that mean if InputIterator is a char * ?

    I'm struggling with a reshape in R. I have 2 types of error (err and rel_err) that have been calculated for 3 different models. This gives me a total of 6 error variables (i.e. err_1, err_2, err_3, rel_err_1, rel_err_2, and rel_err_3). For each of these types of error I have 3 different types of predivtive validity tests (ie random holdouts, backcast, forecast). I would like to make my data set long so I keep the 4 types of test long while also making the two error measurements long.
