  I'm creating a tree of folders and files in java. Windows and OSX return the system icons and name with the following code: new JFileChooser().getIcon(File f); new JFileChooser().getName(File f); Is there any possibility to get the icons and name of unix systems?.   Hi, I read somewhere that we should lock the mutex before calling pthread_cond_signal and unlock the mutext after calling it: The pthread_cond_signal() routine is used to signal (or wake up) another thread which is waiting on the condition variable. It should be called after mutex is locked, and must unlock mutex in order for pthread_cond_wait() routine to complete. My question is: isn't it OK to call pthread_cond_signal or pthread_cond_broadcast methods without locking the mutex?

• My app does not seem to find my button from the UI file

  What i did: create a project, edited the ui file with the designer tool, ran the project, everything is ok tried to add to my cppfile: connect( pushButton_bracketBegin, SIGNAL( clicked() ), this, SLOT( pushButton_bracketBeginAction() ) ); but i get the error "‘pushButton_bracketBegin’ was not declared in this scope". this is my first project in qt and it should be fairly simple i guess (but yet out of my grasp ) :) appreciate the help

• Is there a declarative way to force a set of Buttons to be the same size?

  I'm writing a form in XAML that has multiple buttons with content of different sizes (ie "OK" and "Save As...") Ideally, I'd like them all to be the smallest size possible to hold the largest content. In the example above, both buttons would be the width necessary to hold "Save As..." plus the margins and padding. If they were Grid cells, I could use a SizeGroup. Is there a similar declaration for Buttons?

  ok so im having an issue with Flash CS5. I have a sound looping, and my animation is only 13 frames long, while the song is like a minute long, so each time the animation loops threw the default "Loop Playback" a new sound audio is played which os overlapping the previous over and over causing a massive echo effect. Whats the best way to loop both of them insync, or atleast copy and paste the animations frames and make it the length of the song?
