• Starting a cocos2d game with initial gameplay as background

  Hi All, Id like to start my game, with the initial game play layout as the background, with a buttons layer over the top with maybe 'Tap to start' and a high score etc. and similarly, when the game finishes, id like to just 'pause' the final game play layout and overlay a game over menu of sorts. I tried calling [[CCDirector sharedDirector] pause] as the last line of the appDidFinishLaunching which didnt seem to have any effect. Is there a better way trying to do this? I dont really like my initial approach.

• How to display jQuery Dialog on top of YouTube Video/SlideShare PPT?

  We use jQuery modal dialog box to get confirmation from users before they delete an item. The modal dialog works fine as long as there are no YouTube videos on the screen. If there is a YouTube video the dialog box is displayed beneath the video. I tried changing the z-index of dialog to 3999, but no use. • Python/Tkinter Audio Player

  Hey everyone reading this, I've recently got into doing GUI development with Python. Tkinter seems like the easiest and most logical choice starting out. I did a little with wxPython but it was more sophisticated than what I needed. Anyway, I'm developing a media player. Right now it's a simple window with a button to load .wav files. The problem is I would like to implement a pause button now. But, when playing a audio file the GUI isn't accessible again (no buttons can be pushed) till the file is done playing. How can I make the GUI dynamic while an audio file is playing? I was thinking this maybe be because I'm using PyAudio, and their implementation doesn't allow this. Anyway, thanks for any advice before hand.

• div width problem...problem is cross browser

  hello ol. I have a div having two buttons inside it as |Add| and |Cancel|. I didnt set any width to that div intially and as a result they were displayed vertically not in horizontal.then i add width in % to 11.5%.now the display is ok in moz but not in chrome and ie.i cant use pixels neither in height nor width.problem explanied by example |_______| // a textbox |Add| //initially with no width |Cancel| //after width to 11.5% in moz |_______| |Add| |Cancel| //after width to 11.5% in chrome and ie |_______| |Add| |Cancel| so u can see that in moz it is aligned to the above textbox but not in ie and chrome.hope sum ie hack or chrome hack may lead to correct result..or ONLY a MOZ hack..

• mediawiki markup equivalent of WMD live-previewing editor? (not WYSIWYG)

  Anyone have a recommendation for an editor like the WMD editor, but using MediaWiki markup instead of Markdown? Our site is already using MediaWiki markup but we want a slicker editor without changing markup completely. Requirements include: live preview of formatted text underneath the markup you're typing a toolbar for common formatting (bold, italic, links, bullets, numbered-list, code, etc) keyboard shortcuts for each toolbar button (e.g. CTRL+B for bold) Undo/redo via keyboard shortcuts (CTRL+Z/CTRL+Y) or toolbar buttons works well in the usual set of popular browsers (including IE6!) open-source would be preferred I've found a few options at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/WYSIWYG_editor, but all of these seem to be WYSIWYG editors which is not exactly what I want since full-on WYSIWYG editors tend to be bug-prone and complicate working at the markup level. Instead we want a plain-text markup editor with a client-side previewer, plus some UI niceties (toolbar, undo, keyboard shortcuts) to make editing markup easier.

• PayPal $0 Dollar Transaction?

  Hi. I have a client who wants a paypal shopping cart. All of the services have "Buy Now" buttons, all with different prices. However, there is one service, which is a FREE 0 dollar service. The client wants the "Buy Now" button to remain there, to be consistent with the rest of the site. Does anyone know how I can do a $0 dollar transaction with paypal? The problem is this way: When i close my page on some browser i want an message box to appear and to ask me if I really want to close the page or not. logically: click on x (close tab on web browser) and than the box appears with two buttons yes and now, if i click yes the page will be closed if i click no the page will not close. • How to deny payment via PayPal IPN?

  Hello all, I need to create dynamic 'Pay Now' buttons on my site, and PayPal says the way to do this is via an HTML FORM with preset variables for the price, currency, and item of the purchase. I use PayPal IPN to notify me when a payment has complete. However, what's to stop someone from modifying the query parameters of the Pay Now button to change the price? Some people have told me to redirect the button through a PHP file that sends you to a PayPal payment page with the parameters in place, but the price could just as easily be manipulated in the Web browser's address bar. My question is, how can I deny a payment if the information I receive from PayPal's IPN service is invalid (if the price doesn't match our records)? I'm quite confused and couldn't find any documentation on what I'm looking for. Hopefully, you guys can help. Thanks!

• UIActionSheet cancel button strange behaviour

  I have a UIBarButtonItem opening an action sheet to offer users choices about what to do. Everything works as expected unless I try to click on the "Cancel" button. The target of the button appears to have moved up from where it should be. I can only activate it by clicking somewhere in the middle of the "Cancel" and "Ok" buttons. I've tried at action sheets in other applications and they work fine, so it's not just my big thumb. The idea seems great, you integrate your authentication system with their service once, and your users can login via all of the popular social networking sites.   Hi, i'm new to iphone development. I spend several days by looking for how write muliview app for an Iphone OS. I found how to switch the diferent views without navigation hierarchy (in this article). It's great, but i want more complicated function. For example, i have three diferent views (view 1 - 3) and i can switch between them with technique from link 1. It works fine. My question is: How can i put UITabBarController on view 2, that shows own subviews (tabView 1 - 3) and how put UINavigationController on view 3, that shows own subviews (navView 1 - 2)? The reslut should look like that, one main view (view 1) with two buttons (for example), which switch me to "window" with UiTabBarController or UINavigationController. I found only tutorials, where UITabBarController was a first controller class, that shows directly from AppDelegate (something like default Xcode predefined scenarios). Thanks for your helpfull answer, or i will be crazy soon:).

When I remove the subview the memory from that controller is not released. How can I release that subviews memory instantly? Does anyone have an example? This would solve all my problems!   I have a Window where I have put a Frame. I would like to add a Page to the Frame when I click a button that is also on the Window but not in the Frame. There are several buttons in the Window and each click on a button should load a different Page in the Frame. Since I'm a total newbie on this WPF stuff it's quite possible that this approach is not the best and I have thought about replacing the Frame with a Canvas and then make UserControls instead of Pages that will be added to the Canvas. I welcome any ideas and suggestions on how to best solve this. I aiming for a functionality that is similar to the application Billy Hollis demonstrated in dnrtv episode 115. • iPhone: How to create dynamic image dragging ala iphone icon rearranging

  On the iPhone, if you touch and hold your finger on an icon, it starts vibrating, then you can drag them around while the other icons move aside and rearrange dynamically. I'm trying to figure out how to do this inside an application with a grid of images or buttons. I don't need them to vibrate, but I do want the UI to allow the user to drag them with real-time dynamic reordering and then return the new position (ie, an int for accessing a mutable array). Any ideas how to do this? Any sample code out there? Thanks!

  Hi to all. Is it possible to have a 32x32 images on toolbar while keeping 16x16 in menu. I created toolbar resource (IDR_TOOLBAR1) and set it's button size as 32x32 and load it: if (!m_wndToolBar.CreateEx(this,...) || !m_wndToolBar.LoadToolBar(IDR_TOOLBAR1 )) { ... } When started toolbar correctly shows large btn images but menu is also enlarged showing 32x32 item images!? How to have menu images as before (small 16x16) My app info: SDI, VS2008 Thanks in advance! P.S. I have noticed an option check box "Large Images" in quick customization dialog under options tab. The dialog is enabled by default in my project. When selecting that option images buttons enlarge instantly, the problem is the new sized images is created from small ones and quality is poor. It would be better if new images list is loaded? Once again thanks in advance!

  Ive made an address book. I can currently write to the arraylist and save it back to the .buab file, but I cant delete from the arraylist and export it back to the .buab file? Im pretty much stuck on this. Im able to retrive contacts from the .buab and scroll through them using the JTextFields and buttons ive created. Any help will be dearly appreciated. • click-event doesn't fire if blur changes layout

  I have a form with blur-events bound to the required fields. Then there is a "Cancel" Button which simply calls an URL (button is an image with click-event). When leaving one of the required fields a warning is written to the page saying that field xy is required. - this causes a layout shift, meaning all the fields and the buttons are moved down a little bit because of the text inserted above. The tricky thing is this: when the focus is in an empty but required field and you click the cancel button, the required-warning is written to the screen but the click-event on the cancel button doesn't fire. I think this is due to the layout shift. The mouse cursor doesn't hover over the button anymore, because the button scrolled down. Has anyone a good idea how i could solve this?
