  • Please help me to deploy merge modules

    I need to deploy some Crystal Reports XI .dlls (craxdrt.dll, crviewer.dll) to client computers. Craxdrt.dll has many dependencies. I found out that the easiest way to go about this is to use the supplied merge modules. Having always relied on ClikOnce deployment I am at a total loss how to do this. If it matters: the .exe is written in VB6, but I have visual studio 2010 to make setup projects. Thanks!

    Hi all, We need to find a way to programatically *link all the tables* in a SQL Server database to an access db. We will be invoking this access database from a program that uses .net/SQL Server 2008. While invoking the application we would like to add the linked tables so that the users can just run the reports/modules from access without having to worry about linking the tables.   • jquery document height reported incorrectly by IE (on XP) first time

    I'm having a "first time" problem with IE, which reports a different value for $(document).height(); when the page first loads versus subsequent queries. The difference is 17 pixels regardless of the opening size of the window -- on document ready, the height reported is 17 pixels larger than is subsequently reported. I wonder if this is an artifact of some aspect of my page (some margins or paddings somewhere), but so far can't account for 17 pixels.

    Is there any reason to not include pdb files in an installer? I have C++ logging functionality that walks the stack, and reports line numbers and file names. It would be great if my customers could send me logs with this information. However, they would need the pdb files. Is there any downside (other than installer package size) to deploying them?

That all works fine in the report designer, however after deploying the report on the server the pane in the drill-through reports is hidden. Is there a way I can change this behavior. Our users want the pane to be visible in the drill-through report.

    I don't really know how to compose this question. My complay has been using Microsoft ProClarity for few years and we have a quite a few users using it publising books and doing ad-hoc analysis. With the new Microsoft BI solutions, it seems like they are completely going away from ProClarity and replacing the OLAP analysis with Excel. I understand the with SharePoint and integration with PerformancePoint and reporting services the dashboards and reports would be done in SharePoint but what about the analysis? Any ideas?

    We have a number of integration tests that fail when our staging server goes down for weekly maintenance. When the staging server is down we send a specific response that I could detect in my integration tests. When I get this response instead of failing the tests I'm wondering if it is possible to skip/ignore that test even though it has started running. This would keep our test reports a bit cleaner. Does anybody have suggestions?

  • Adobe 9 Check box required field

    Hi, I've created reports in Adboe that have checkobxes and set then to required fields. But when i click the submit button all fields but the check boxes are validated. I.e If i dont complete the required textbox field the report will not submit, but when i do and the required checkbox fields are not checked it still submits. For sake of simplication for this post, the count is not static, but it does not change anything.

    We have a xml column in SQL Server 2008. We need to do reporting off the data in the xml so we're going to select the xml into a flat table. The flat table has columns that correspond to various nodes in the xml. What is the best way to do this using SSIS? Is this a good approach? Or should we just try and write the reports directly off the xml column?
