• Binding to the selected item in an ItemsControl

  I created a custom ComboBox as follows: (note, code is not correct but you should get the general idea.) The ComboBox contains 2 dependency properties which matter: TitleText and DescriptionText. <Grid> <TextBlock x:Name="Title"/> <Grid x:Name="CBG"> <ToggleButton/> <ContentPresenter/> <Popup/> </Grid> </Grid> I want to use this ComboBox to display a wide range of options. I created a class called Setting which inherits from DependencyObject to create usable items, I created a DataTemplate to bind the contents of this Settings object to my ComboBox and created a UserControl which contains an ItemControl which has as a template my previously mentioned DataTemplate. One way I managed to achieve this was replacing my ItemsControl by a ListBox but this caused several issues: it always showed a scrollbar even though I disabled it, it wouldn't catch focus when my popup was open but only when I explicitly selected the item in my ListBox, when I enabled the OverridesDefaultStyle property the contents of the ListBox wouldn't show up at all, I had to re-theme the ListBox control to match my UserControl layout... What's the best and easiest way to get my DescriptionText to show up without using a ListBox or creating a custom Selector control (as that had the same effect as a ListBox)? The goal at the end is to loop through all the items (maybe get them into an ObservableCollection or some sort and to save them into my settings file.

• How to configure Hudson and git plugin with an SSH key

  I've got Hudson (continuous integration system) with the git plugin running on a Tomcat Windows Service. msysgit is installed and the msysgit bin dir is in the path. PuTTY/Pageant/plink are installed and msysgit is configured to use them. When I run a job that attempts to clone the git repository I get the following error: $ git clone -o origin git@hostname:project.git "e:\HUDSON_HOME\jobs\Project Trunk\workspace" ERROR: Error cloning remote repo 'origin' : Could not clone git@hostname:project.git ERROR: Cause: Error performing git clone -o origin git@hostname:project.git e:\HUDSON_HOME\jobs\Project Trunk\workspace Trying next repository ERROR: Could not clone from a repository FATAL: Could not clone hudson.plugins.git.GitException: Could not clone Running git clone -o origin git@hostname:project.git "e:\HUDSON_HOME\jobs\Project Trunk\workspace" from the command line works without error. I've confirmed that my issue is not the same as http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1177292/hudson-git-clone-error because git is in the path and I don't get any error about the git executable on Hudson's Configure System page. This leads me to believe that the problem is that the user who owns the Tomcat/Hudson Windows service (Local System) has no SSH key set up to be able to clone the git repository. My question is, how can I set things up so that the git plugin/msysgit know to use a particular SSH key when trying to clone? I don't think Pageant will work because the Tomcat service is running as the "Local System" user, but I may be wrong. I have tried setting Pageant up as a service (using runassvc.exe), passing the appropriate key, and having it run as "Local System". The Tomcat/Hudson service doesn't seem to be able to see the key from the pageant service. Are there any other techniques for setting up a key? Thanks. EDIT: The discussion on http://n4.nabble.com/Hudson-with-git-and-ssh-td375633.html shows that someone else had a similar question. ssh-agent was suggested and this tool does come with msysgit but I'm not sure how to use it in conjunction with the Hudson service. I believe the issue is that the encryption key I have been supplied by the web service developers is 48 characters long. I see that the iPhone SDK constant "kCCKeySize3DES" is 24. So I SUSPECT, but don't know, that the commoncrypto API call is only using the first 24 characters of the supplied key. Is this correct? Is there ANY way I can get this to generate the correct encrypted pin? I have output the data bytes from the encryption PRIOR to base64 encoding it and have attempted to match this against those generated from the .NET code (with the help of a .NET developer who sent the byte array output to me). Neither the non-base64 encoded byte array nor the final base64 encoded strings match.

• Switching DataSources on a ReportViewer in WinForms

  I have created a winform for the users to view view the many reports I am creating for them. I have a drop down list with the report name which triggers the appropriate fields to display the parameters. Once those are filled, they press Submit and the report appears. This works the first time they hit the screen. They can change the parameters and the ReportViewer works fine. Change to a different report, and the I get the following ReportViewer error: An error occurred during local report processing. An error has occurred during the report processing. A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source "CgTempData_BusMaintenance". As far as the process I use: I set reportName (string) the physical RDLC name. I set the dataSource (string) as the DataSource Name I fill a generic DataTable with the data for the report to run from. Make the ReportViewer visible Set the LocalReport.ReportPath = "Reports\\" = reportName; Clear the LocalReport.DataSources.Clear() Add the new LocalReport.DataSources.Add(new ReportDataSource(dataSource, dt)); RefreshReport() on the ReportViewer. • Android - Autocomplete with contacts

  I've created an AutoCompleteTextView box that displays the names of all contacts, but after looking in the Android APIs, it seems my method is probably quite inefficient. Currently I am grabbing a cursor of the all the contacts, placing each name and each contact id into two different arrays, then passing the name array to the AutoCompleteTextView. When a user selects an item, I lookup which ID the contact selected in the second id array created above. • WPF Memory Leak

  I have an WPF form that I myself did not create, so I am not very good at WPF. It is leaking badly though, up to 400 MB and closing the form does not help. The problem lies in my application loading all the pictures at once. I would like to only load the ones visible at the moment. It is about 300 pictures and they are a bit large so my WPF-form suffers from loading them all. I have a DataTemplate with my own type that has a property Thumbnail. The code in the template is like this: <Image Source="{Binding Path=Thumbnail}" Stretch="Fill"/> And then I have a grid with a control that has the above template as source. The code for this control is the below. • Resizing QT's QTextEdit to Match Text Height: maximumViewportSize()

  I am trying to use a QTextEdit widget inside of a form containing several QT widgets. The form itself sits inside a QScrollArea that is the central widget for a window. My intent is that any necessary scrolling will take place in the main QScrollArea (rather than inside any widgets), and any widgets inside will automatically resize their height to hold their contents. I have tried to implement the automatic resizing of height with a QTextEdit, but have run into an odd issue. I created a sub-class of QTextEdit and reimplemented sizeHint() like this: QSize OperationEditor::sizeHint() const { QSize sizehint = QTextBrowser::sizeHint(); sizehint.setHeight(this->fitted_height); return sizehint; } this-fitted_height is kept up-to-date via this slot that is wired to the QTextEdit's "contentsChanged()" signal: void OperationEditor::fitHeightToDocument() { this->document()->setTextWidth(this->viewport()->width()); QSize document_size(this->document()->size().toSize()); this->fitted_height = document_size.height(); this->updateGeometry(); } The size policy of the QTextEdit sub-class is: this->setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy::MinimumExpanding, QSizePolicy::Preferred); I took this approach after reading this post. Here is my problem: As the QTextEdit gradually resizes to fill the window, it stops getting larger and starts scrolling within the QTextEdit, no matter what height is returned from sizeHint(). If I initially have sizeHint() return some large constant number, then the QTextEdit is very big and is contained nicely within the outer QScrollArea, as one would expect. However, if sizeHint gradually adjusts the size of the QTextEdit rather than just making it really big to start, then it tops out when it fills the current window and starts scrolling instead of growing. I have traced this problem to be that, no matter what my sizeHint() returns, it will never resize the QTextEdit larger than the value returned from maximumViewportSize(), which is inherited from QAbstractScrollArea. Note that this is not the same number as viewport()-maximumSize(). I am unable to figure out how to set that value. Looking at QT's source code, maximumViewportSize() is returning "the size of the viewport as if the scroll bars had no valid scrolling range." This value is basically computed as the current size of the widget minus (2 * frameWidth + margins) plus any scrollbar widths/heights. This does not make a lot of sense to me, and it's not clear to me why that number would be used anywhere in a way that supercede's the sub-class's sizeHint() implementation. Also, it does seem odd that the single "frameWidth" integer is used in computing both the width and the height. Can anyone please shed some light on this? I suspect that my poor understanding of QT's layout engine is to blame here.

• WPF Formatting Issues - Automatically stretching and resizing?

  I'm very new to WPF and XAML. I am trying to design a basic data entry form. I have used a stack panel holding four more stack panels to get the layout I want. Perhaps a grid would be better for this, I am not sure. • Silverlight Update/Trigger IValueConverter in Listbox DataTemplate in a DataGrid

  Hi I am building an application to display a datagrid bound to an ObservableCollection of Records, where each record has a Course Object and an ObservableCollection of Results Objects. The course is changed using an autocomplete box. The results collection is displayed in a Listbox with an IValueConverter implementation to change the colour of the ellipse template based on criteria of the course currently selected. It works great on loading, but subsequent updates to the course selection via the autocomplete does not trigger a recalculation/refresh of the value converter. Is there a way to trigger the refresh in XAML. I added UpdateSource=Property changed to the binding of the list box - but this caused a stack overflow (haha). But isn;t this very inefficient ? Refreshing the view on the datagrid does not have any effect in that method. Any steps in the right direction are greatly appreciated. Trying to prevent myself going anymore grey :) Had thoughts of getting the binding expression of the list in the grid and updating it, but no clue ? Thanks guys

However, I didn't find any solution for this problem I'm having: I have a UITableView with 2 sections, and no rows when the app is launched for the first time. The user can fill the sections later on as he wishes (the content is not relevant here). The UITableView looks good when filled with rows, but looks pretty ugly when there is none (the 2 header sections are stuck together with no white space in between). That is why I'd like to add a nice "No row" view in between when there is no row. database for id passed and fill it in control. 2 . i store xml on server as physical file and use it in page i opened in iframe to edit the record. so i am confused... can anybody please guide me that what shpould i do to let user provide interface to edit this xml data/user profile ?

• Voice Recognition Connection problem

  I,m trying to work through and test a Voice Recognition example based on the VoiceRecognition.java example at http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/ApiDemos/src/com/example/android/apis/app/VoiceRecognition.html but when click on the button to create the activity, I get a dialog that says Connection problem. My Manifest file is using the Internet Permission, and I understand it passes the to the Google Servers. Do I need to do anything else to use this. Code below UPDATE: Ok, I was able to replace my emulator image with one from HTC that appears to come with Google Voice Search, however now when I run from the emulator, i'm getting an Audio Problem message with Speak Again or Cancel buttons.   Switching from Microsofts Oracle Driver to ODP.NET version 10.2.0.100. After changing the data types to OracleDBTypes in a procedure, that worked perficetly using System.Data.OracleClient, the procedure fails if we try and pass in more that 20 parameters. The error returned is: ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'ADD_TARP_EVENT' ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: Statement ignorede If we reduce the number of parameters to less than 20 it works. I would like the gridview to be shorter, so that the ad can fill the bottom portion of the screen, and not hide part of the gridview. The problem is most annoying when you scroll all the way to the bottom of the gridview, and you still cannot fully see the last row items in the grid due to the ad. I'm not sure if this is the standard way that AdMob ads work. If this is the case, adding some padding to the bottom of the grid (if that's possible) would due the trick. That way the user can scroll a bit further, and see the last row in addition to the ad. I just switched from using LinearLayout to RelativeLayout after reading some similar issues with ListViews. Now my ad is along the bottom instead of above the grid, so I'm getting closer. Thoughts? -Kevin

• Gridview header issue: call event on header

  Now I got this gridview, And I need the headers to be clickable, whereafter an event starts (something like OnClickHeader="header_ClickEvent"?) Ofcourse there is a SortExpression element, which enables to sort the grid, but I want to be able to start any event, like when clicking a button. I could not find any solution within the asp:BoundField nor asp:TemplateField... I thought a hyperlink could solve the problem, but that was a bit premature. Also, when using a TemplateField, I find it very hard to fill the column with data. Could anyone bring me the solution? • Have Button re-appear immediately after clicking button in ListView row

  I have 4 buttons on a page. Each button opens a modal window and let’s the user input data in a form. When the user hits the save button in the modal, a ListView appears on the page with the submitted data. The button the user clicked to open the modal window is set to visible=false, so it’s gone when the row is added to the ListView. Now there are 3 buttons and the same goes for those; when the user hits a button, a modal appears, and when the modal form is submitted, the button disappears and a row is added to the ListView. In the ListView row, there is a delete button. When this button is clicked, the row is deleted and the button that was initially clicked to add this row (and open the modal), SHOULD reappear, but it doesn’t. The row disappears, but I have to refresh the page before the button comes back. There is a ScriptManager on the masterpage, so I guess this is an AJAX partial refresh issue. I tried adding different events, but I can’t find the one that fires at the right time. I use an ObjectDataSource to fill the ListView, and the data comes from a database, wrapped in a business object. This code loads a business object in a List< and checks if the user inserted an item of a specific type. If he did, the button he used to open the modal is hidden. • Chrome Extension - Cross-Origin XMLHttpRequest - Returning HTML/JSON

  Hi everyone, I hope you can help me :) I've created a Chrome extension (my first one) and I'm having some difficulty auto-populating a <select> with <option> that are being returned. the default_popup page is index.htm. I have two <select> (listboxes? can't remember the name) boxes. When a user first clicks the extension, it performs a XMLHttpRequest to a php script and get's a list of names from a MySQL database. It returns (onLoad) the list in the form of: <option>blah</option> When a user selects an option from the first listbox/select, it performs another XMLHttpRequest and auto-populates the second listbox/select. Then when a user selects an option from the second listbox it will eventually populate a few details further down the page. I've been testing by just running the index.htm file and seeing if just the code works correctly, which it does. However when trying to view it from the extension, it doesn't work. The onLoad doesn't fill in the first listbox, and selecting an option (one that I typed in the box for testing purposes) from the first listbox doesn't populate the second listbox. I thought maybe it was a permissions error, so I tried adding the domain to the manifest.json file; but I appear to be getting an error in the manifest.json file after doing so. The point of the extension is to be able to quickly view client details. The extension will only be given to employees locally in a .crx file, and not distributed online. The domain I am accessing through the PHP/MySQL is accessible from the web, but I'm currently using localhost in my mysql_connect string. Do I need to be returning the <option> elements encoded as JSON? If so, I'm completely cluesless as how to do that.

• Trouble with OpenLayers Styles.

  So, tired of always seeing the bright orange default regular polygons, I'm trying to learn to style OpenLayers. I've had some success with: var layer_style = OpenLayers.Util.extend({},OpenLayers.Feature.Vector.style['default']); layer_style.fillColor = "#000000"; layer_style.strokeColor = "#000000"; polygonLayer = new OpenLayers.Layer.Vector("PolygonLayer"); polygonLayer.style = layer_style; But sine I am drawing my polygons with DrawFeature, my style only takes effect once I've finished drawing, and seeing it snap from bright orange to grey is sort of disconcerting. So, I learned about temporary styles, and tried: var layer_style = new OpenLayers.Style({"default": {fillColor: "#000000"}, "temporary": {fillColor: "#000000"}}) polygonLayer = new OpenLayers.Layer.Vector("PolygonLayer"); polygonLayer.style = layer_style; This got me a still orange square--until I stopped drawing, when it snapped into completely opaque black. I figured maybe I had to explicitly set the fillOpacity...no dice. Even when I changed both fill colors to be pink and blue, respectively, I still saw only orange and opaque black. I've tried messing with StyleMaps, since I read that if you only add one style to a style map, it uses the default one for everything, including the temporary style. var layer_style = OpenLayers.Util.extend({}, OpenLayers.Feature.Vector.style['default']); var style_map = new OpenLayers.StyleMap(layer_style); polygonLayer = new OpenLayers.Layer.Vector("PolygonLayer"); polygonLayer.style = style_map; That got me the black opaque square, too. (Even though that layer style works when not given to a map). Passing the map to the layer itself like so: polygonLayer = new OpenLayers.Layer.Vector("PolygonLayer", style_map); Didn't get me anything at all. Orange all the way, even after drawn. polygonLayer = new OpenLayers.Layer.Vector("PolygonLayer", {styleMap: style_map}); Is a lot more succesful: Orange while drawing, translucent black with black outline when drawn. Just like when I didn't use a map. Problem is, still no temporary... So, I tried initializing my map this way: var style_map = new OpenLayers.StyleMap({"default": layer_style, "temporary": layer_style}); No opaque square, but no dice for the temporary, either... Still orange snapping to black transparent. Even if I make a new Style (layer_style2), and set temporary to that, still no luck. And no luck with setting "select" style, either. What am I doing wrong? Temporary IS for styling things that are currently being sketched, correct? Is there some other way specific to the drawFeature Controller? Edit: setting extendDefault to be true doesn't seem to help, either... var style_map = new OpenLayers.StyleMap({"default": layer_style, "temporary": layer_style}, {"extendDefault": "true"});

• Dojo extending dojo.dnd.Source, move not happening. Ideas?

  Hey all, Ok... I have a simple dojo page with the bare essentials. Three UL's with some LI's in them. The idea si to allow drag-n-drop among them but if any UL goes empty due to the last item being dragged out, I will put up a message to the user to gie them some instructions. In order to do that, I wanted to extend the dojo.dnd.Source dijit and add some intelligence. It seemed easy enough. To keep things simple (I am loading Dojo from a CDN) I am simply declating my extension as opposed to doing full on module load. The problem is this - list1 will happily accept items from lists 2 & 3 who will move or copy as apprriate. However lists 2 & 3 refuce to accept items from list1. It is as if the DND operation is being cancelled, but the debugger does show the dojo.dnd.Source.prototype.onDndDrop.call happening, and the paramaters do look ok to me. Now, the documentation here is really weak, so the example I took some of this from may be way out of date (I am using 1.4). Can anyone fill me in on what might be the issue with my extension dijit?
