We are moving our MySQL DB to its own dedicated server and will keep the original machine as the front end machine running nginx/apache (Django backend.) How do we monitor the value of this change? It is possible our whole site could actually get slower since the MySQL queries will be going out over a secure remote connection instead of locally?

    Do weights assigned to servers only effect the balance within that particular backend? When implementing weights for the first time, if I give all the servers in a backend the same number, would that be the same as before when there we no weights? How do I calculate just how much traffic I am shiffting by adjust weights by certain amounts.   • Make a server ( other than the router ) to be the default gateway for a subnet

    I am trying to make a server ( lets call it server_A) which is different from the router to be the gateway for a subnet. Why do I want this ? I want to host a loadbalancer on server_A using LVS-NAT, and I dont want to implement a V-Lan or IP-IP tunneling. I have modified the routing tables of the remaining servers on the subnet to use server_A as the gateway. I have set server_A to not send ICMP reroute packets. But most traffic from servers in that subnet to outside clients are still being sent through the original gateway, bypassing server_A. Is there any other configuration I need to set in order to achieve my goal ?

    I have to handle many (1'000 - 30'000) big files ranging from 200MB up to 2GB. The demand for these files is variable (0 - 300 downloads / file). This is why a single file must saved on 2 or more servers. My servers are placed in different datacenters (France), with different size HDDs (750GB to 4TB). Currently I share the files using PHP and ncftpget / ncftpput, but it's very slow. I need a solution to handle balancing these files across 7+ servers.

  • Loading a PyML multiclass classifier... why isn't this working?

    This is a followup from "Save PyML.classifiers.multi.OneAgainstRest(SVM()) object?". I am using PyML for a computer vision project (pyimgattr), and have been having trouble storing/loading a multiclass classifier. When attempting to load one of the SVMs in a composite classifier, with loadSVM, I am getting: ValueError: invalid literal for float(): rest Note that this does not happen with the first classifier that I load, only with the second. What is causing this error, and what can I do to get around this so that I can properly load the classifier? Details To better understand the trouble I'm running into, you may want to look at pyimgattr.py (currently revision 11). I am invoking the program with "./pyimgattr.py train" which trains the classifier (invokes train on line 571, which trains the classifier with trainmulticlassclassifier on line 490 and saves it with storemulticlassclassifier on line 529), and then invoking the program with "./pyimgattr.py test" which loads the classifier in order to test it with the testing dataset (invokes test on line 628, which invokes loadmulticlassclassifier on line 549). The multiclass classifier consists of several one-against-rest SVMs which are saved individually. The loadmulticlassclassifier function loads these individually by calling loadSVM() on several different files. It is in this call to loadSVM (done indirectly in loadclassifier on line 517) that I get an error. The first of the one-against-rest classifiers loads successfully, but the second one does not.     I'm trying to deploy a web application which uses F# 4.0 on Windows Server 2008. It works on my computer where VS2010 is installed but it doesn't work on the server. Everytime you open the page you'll get this error message: Could not load file or assembly 'FSharp.Core, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. I've installed .NET 4 using the web platform installer. F# PowerPack is installed too. I found this page: http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/507202/error-in-working-with-f It suggests you to reinstall F#, but the link to download F# seems to be broken. And it might not be the same problem I have. I've also tried to install Microsoft F# 2.0.0.0 since it's the only F# redistribution I could find. But it doesn't help at all. Has anyone get something like this to work? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi ! I am experiencing a strange issue with VS2010. We use TFS to build our API dlls and we used to reference them in our projects usign a mapped network drive that was fully trusted. We have been working like that for at least two years and everything worked perfectly. Today, I converted a webapp to vs2010 and when I compile it in Release, it's giving me: SGEN : error : Could not load file or assembly 'file:///L:\Api\Release API_20100521.1\Release\CS.API.Exceptions.dll' or one of its dependencies. Operation is not supported. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131515) The strange thing is that it's working when it's under the Debug profile... I tried adding the <runtime> <loadFromRemoteSources enabled="true" /> </runtime> into app.config and still no luck (See http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/msbuild/thread/d12f6301-85bf-4b9e-8e34-a06398a60df0 and http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd409252(VS.100).aspx) I am pretty sure that this issue is from visual studio or msbuild, as our code won't run from a network share when in prod because all the referenced dll's are copied into the bin folder. If anyone has an solution (or just an idea for a search path) please let me know !

  • Android- Using DexClassLoader to load apk file.

    Hi guys, I've hit a bit of a wall. Any help would be appreciated. I have an app that I want to use DexClassLoader to load another apk file. Here is my code: DexClassLoader dLoader = new DexClassLoader("/sdcard/download/test.apk","/sdcard/download",null,ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader().getParent()); Class calledClass = dLoader.loadClass("com.test.classname"); Intent it=new Intent(this, calledClass); it.setClassName("com.test", "com.test.classname"); startActivity(it); Now I had already installed test.apk so when I ran the above code it worked fine and launched the application. However I want to be able to run this without test.apk being installed already (as that would defeat the entire point of the application) . So I uninstalled it and when I ran the my app again I get this error: android.content.ActivityNotFoundException: Unable to find explicit activity class {com.test/com.test.classname}; have you declared this activity in your AndroidManifest.xml. So I'm a bit stumped here. This activity is declared in the Manifest of the apk I am trying to run. I can't declare it in my applications Manifest. Any ideas? Thanks, Craig

    Hello, I am using WCF Ria Services beta in my silverlight application. I have a long running task on the server which keeps writing its status to a database table. I have a "GetTranslationProgress" Ria Service Query method which queries the state to get the status. This query method is called continuously at a regular interval of 5 seconds until a status = Finished or Error is retrieved. In some cases if the task on the server is running for a long duration 2-3 minutes then I receives this error:- Load operation failed for query 'GetTranslationProgress'. The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature session shutdown or an internal server error. at System.Windows.Ria.OperationBase.Complete(Exception error) at System.Windows.Ria.LoadOperation.Complete(Exception error) at System.Windows.Ria.DomainContext.CompleteLoad(IAsyncResult asyncResult) at System.Windows.Ria.DomainContext.<c_DisplayClass17.b_13(Object ) The error occurs intermittently and I have no idea what could be causing this error.     We are using Quartz with Spring and our configuration is throwing deadlocks when quartz has more than 1 thread configured. I'm starting to believe that it's because we don't have our quartz configured correctly with Spring, but I can't find enough documentation on how to configure the two to play nicely. We are running on both Windows and Linux environments - pointing at MSSQL and Oracle DBs. With both OS, using either DB, we can throw the following deadlock errors...     I am using Spring for the first time and must be doing something wrong. I have a project with several Bean implementations and now I am trying to create a test class with Spring Test and JUnit. I am trying to use Spring Test to inject a customized bean into the test class.   • Troubleshoot Page Loading Issue (ActiveX control)

    Apologies for cryptic title, I'm hoping most people will read this BEFORE trying to move it to server fault. I might try and discourage the "too hard basket, move it to server fault anyway" crowd as well :). I have a page which will open cleanly when it's opened in it's own browser window/tab. The exact same URL, when loaded as part of a frame in a page in the same (local intranet) security zone shows the error: Your security settins do not allow websites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly. Click Here for options. How do I troubleshoot IE to work out which ActiveX control won't load in the frame but does load if the page is opened directly? Please note that I have dropped the security fully AND I've also moved EVERY setting in IE to enable or allow and restarted the browser but I STILL get the same issue. The two sites are on different machines in the same domain. I can't access website source code but I can ask for it to be fixed, so I'd really appreciate some help on this.

  • Cheetah with Cherrypy: how to load base templates, and do so automatically on change during developm

    I am working on a cherrypy+cheetah app and would like to improve the development experience. I have everything working when I manually compile templates beforehand. However, during development I'd rather just load the templates every time they are referenced so that I don't need to kill and restart my application. I have a couple of issues I am facing: If I have templates inheriting from base templates, I get import errors (can't find base templates). I think I had this actually working during my experiments, but unfortunately didn't save it and now I can't make it work. Suppose I get 1. working, how do make it so that edits even in base templates get picked up without restart. Below is my sample application that should demonstrate the problems. The problem I'm having is some content loads with links which are intended to load content into a secondary window. I'm using the .live() method to allow jquery to listen for new links loaded into the primary content div. This works until the .ajax() method is called for these fresh links loaded with ajax, where the method begins, but follows the original link before data can be received. I'm assuming the problem is in the client-side scripting, but it may be a problem with the call made to the server. I'm using the wordpress loop to parse the url and generate the html loaded via jquery. Thanks for any tips!

  • VB.Net plugin using Matlab COM Automation Server...Error: 'Could not load Interop.MLApp'

    My Problem: I am using Matlab COM Automation Server to call and execute matlab .m files from a VB.Net plugin for a CAD program called Rhino 3D. The code works flawlessly when set up as a simple Windows Application in Visual Studio, but when I insert it (and make the requisite reference) into my .Net plugin and test it in the CAD program I get the following error: "Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.MLApp, Version 1.0.0.0, culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. the system cannot find the file specified." What I've Tried: I am baffled as to why this occurs, but I was able to contact the CAD program's technical support staff and they suggested that it has something to do with their DotNet SDK having trouble with references that are located far outside the CAD program directory. They didn't have any solutions so I tried playing around with copylocal and this made no difference. I tried using other COM libraries and the Open Office automation server works fine, although uses url's instead of requiring a reference. I also tested Excel, which does require a reference, and it returned the error: "retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {...} failed due to the following error: 80040154." This may or may not be related to the issue with the Matlab COM reference, but I thought was worthwhile to share. Perhaps is there another way to reference Interop.MLApp? I would appreciate any suggestions or thoughts on how I might make the Matlab Interop.MLApp reference work. Best regards, Ben

    I am writing a small console application in C# that references a custom assembly that implements custom .net Profile provider. I have added the following sections to my app.config file which references the custom class and assembly. <system.web> <profile defaultProvider="MyCompanyProfileProvider" inherits="MyCompany.Web.User.GenericProfile" automaticSaveEnabled="false"> <providers> <clear/> <add name="MyCompanyProfileProvider" connectionStringName="defaultDatabase" applicationName="/myApplication" type="MyCompany.Web.ProfileProvider, MyCompany.Web"/> </providers> <properties> <add name="JobRoleId" type="System.Int32"/> <add name="LastCompetencyId" type="System.Int32" defaultValue="0"/> <add name="MixSettings" type="System.Xml.XmlDocument"/> </properties> </profile></system.web> However when I run the app in debug mode I get the following error as if it is looking in the System.Web assembly rather than one specified in the app.config file. Could not load type 'MyCompany.Web.User.GenericProfile' from assembly 'System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'. I have a local web app that also uses the assembly and custom Profile provider and that work without any problems. I have checked the referenced assembly is being copied to the output directory. Any ideas??

    So here's my issue: I followed the NSURLConnection tutorial in the iPhone Developer Documentation almost to the T, and it only kinda works. Here's where it all goes wrong: The object seems to be created correctly and delegates to connectionDidFinishLoading, but with any URL I try to load the response data always ends up only being 0 bytes. I am running in the simulator if that makes any difference.     i have some element in my container and want to save all properties of this elements. i list this element by VisualTreeHelper and save its attributes in DB, question is that how to retrieve this properties and affect them? i think that The Silverlight have some statement that behave like Exec in Sql-Server. i save properties in one line that delimited by semicolon.(if you have any suggestion ,appreciate) Edit: suppose this scenario: End-User choose a tool from Mytoolbox(a container like Grid) ,a dialog shown its properties for creation and finally draw Grid . in resumption he/she choose one element(like Button) and drop it on one of the grid's cell. now i want to save workspace that he/she created! My RootLayout have one container control so any of element are child of this.HERETOFORE i want create one string that contain all general properties(not all of them) and save to DB, and when i load this control, i create an element by the type that i saved and affect it by the properties that i saved; with something like EXEC command. is this possible ? have you new approach for this scenario(Guide me with example please).

  • How to know $(window).load(); status from jquery

    I have created a website loading bar using Jquery UI Progress bar, this progress bar shows the status of scripts loading. A sample is $.getScript('_int/ajax.js',function() { $("#progressinfo").html("Loading Complete ..."); $("#progressbar").progressbar({ value: 100 }); }); This progress bar is in #indexloader which is blocking the website being loaded behind, its CSS is #indexloader { z-index:100; position:fixed; top:0; left:0; background:#FFF; width:100%;height:100%; } After the progress bar reaches 100% I want to hide and remove #indexloader for that I used $("#indexloader").fadeOut("slow",function() { $("#indexloader").remove(); }); But the problem is, although the scripts have loaded, the pages are not fully loaded, I see images and other things still loading. So before fading and removing the #indexloader i want to check whether the $(window).load() has completed or not Is there a way to check this? Thanks in advance

    Hey. I am trying to filter Client Comments by using a select and rendering it in a partial. Right now the partial loads @client.comments. I have a Category model with a Categorizations join. This all works, just need to know how to get the select to call the filter action and load the partial with ajax. Thanks for you help.
