Lots of people think that once their new website is live on the Internet that they can sit back, relax and watch the money roll in. The really hard work has not actually even begun though. Why?
I am not able to validate passord with ()-=_+ , i.e it should accept these special characters but its not working when i use the regular expression as
`validates_format_of :password, :with => /^[A-Za-z0-9. ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ - + = ]*\z/`
its only excepting till * but not accepting ()-=_+ in ruby on rails.
Back in November I started complicated research into measuring the widths and heights of variousinteresting elements in mobile browsers. This research kept me occupied for months and months; and frankly I becamea bit afraid of it because the subject is so complicated.Besides, when I re-did some tests in MarchI pretty quickly figured out I’d made some nasty mistakes in my original tests. Back to thedrawing board. However, after a review round by some browser vendors and some rewriting it’s done now.Today...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? We already have over 80 articles in several categories including Silverlight. Take a look: here.
In this article I am going to show how we can update a key value in app.config file in WPF. For this add reference of System.Configuration in your application.

I work in the prodution area at my works and I design and create the software to run our automated test equipment. Everytime I get involved with a new machine I end up with a different and (hopefully) better design. Anyway I have come to the point where I feel I need to start standardization all the machines with the same program. I see a problem when it comes to applying updates as at the moment the test procedures are hard coded into the program at each station. I neeed to be able to update the core program without affecting the testing section.
The way I see it that this will mean splitting the program into 2 sections.
Main UI - This is the core that talks to everything on the machine such as cameras, sensors, printer etc and is a standalone application.
Test Procedure - This is the steps that is executeted everytime the machine runs through a test.
The main UI will load the test procedure and execute when ever a test is required.
My question is what is the best approach to this in terms of having an application load a file and execute the code with in? Take into account that the code in the test procedure will need access to public methods on the UI/core system to communicate to sensors etc. I have heard about MS Roslyn and had a quick look, would this solve my issue?
I'm polishing an old project that i released some years ago, and the main purpose on that, is to arrange some folder structures and port the entire code from actionscript to haxe.
All the game features, assets and design will remain the same. I have some doubts regarding versioning the project in this circumstance.
Assuming that the only thing that will be drastically changed is the code migration, is it correct maintaining the new project changes on the same repository ? I was thinking in tagging it something like V1.1 or Branch the entire project. But i'm afraid that i'm gonna deviate from the versioning patterns.
How can i use this version control issue in the best practice way ?
Thanks.
Replacing multiple spaces with a single space is an old problem that people use loops, functions, and/or Tally tables for. Here's a set based method from MVP Jeff Moden.

I have this weird situation:
When I do on rails console Time.now or Time.zone.now I get the same values (suppose they run at the sime time: 2014-06-05 23:38:06 -0300)
But when I use Time.now in a query like: Match.where("datetime = ?", Time.now) it returns the time 3 hours ahead!
.to_sql output:
SELECT `matches`.* FROM `matches` WHERE (datetime = '2014-06-06 02:38:06')
any thoughts on that?

I came into a huge game-breaking problem - after 10-15 min of gameplay the FPS drops from 60 to 30 and is very unstable. I'm using tons of physics and particles, I'm deleting and nulling everything I can after it's supposed to be removed, I remove objects from vectors etc. The memory usage is stable at around 150mb so a leak is unlikely (or invisible?)- after a round ends and I delete everything, play a new round and performance is still terrible. I spent two days trying to figure this out and I just can't fix it. Maybe I'm missing something? I know it's hard to help with no code but I would just have to post my whole source.
Have you ever given some thought to what you need to do to attract people to visit the website you just created for them? In case you haven't yet done so, let me take you through five basic steps which you should adhere to if you are looking for an increase in the daily hits to your website.
I normally connect my laptop via wifi. However, I would like to use synergy to share my workplace desktop machine with my laptop. But the problem is that my desktop machine doesn't have wireless support. So, I have no other options except using ethernet to connect them.
My first question is - Is it possible to use ethernet for synergy and keep using wifi for all other application. If the answer is yes, can somebody please guide me how to achieve this.
Thanks,
I recently changed my root password, but when I restart Ldap (openldap-2.2.13) I couldn't log in with Ldap users to any application that is on this server.
in /var/log/httpd/ssl_error_log I can find a lot of error like:
[Tue Jun 01 02:27:24 2010] [warn] [client 89.138.98.214] [26762] auth_ldap authenticate: user foo authentication failed; URI /svn-clients/clients/myclient/ [LDAP: ldap_simple_bind_s() failed][Can't contact LDAP server]
I guess there is a linkage between user root and the Ldap configuration, I also changed the
rootpw entry in slapd.conf, but this doesn't seem to make things better.

Since you want the top in a SEO firm, isn't it better to look for an expert rather than retaining the business of a fly-by-night SEO operation that promises the moon but cannot deliver? Surely if someone has the knowledge to be able to provide advice on search engine optimization then they must be an SEO expert.
With normal form submission I use the pattern Post / Redirect / Get, when processing the forms.
I have a database application built with Django. I want to allow the users to select a number of items from the database, then launch a computationally intensive task based on those items.
I expect the task to take between 10 minutes and 2 hours to complete.
Is there a standard approach to dealing with requests like this (i.e. that don't return immediately)? Ideally there would be some way to display the progress.
I have to write a program in assembly language that will monitor temperature continuously, and I have no idea where to begin. The temperature must be displayed in BCD format, and the high and low set points will be programmed into the system. if the set points are exceeded then an alarm will be indicated. The low point is 20 degrees Celsius, and the high point is 24 degrees Celsius.
Can somebody give me some hints on how to complete this task?
Some of the best personal websites right now generally fall into the blogging category. A blog is described as a type of website which is maintained by someone who regularly posts entries of commentary, on virtually any subject.
