    Is it possible to use Google Chrome Frame in IE 6 to access a SharePoint 2010 site without displaying the WarnOnUnsupportedBrowsers message. The message I get is this: Your Web browser will have problems displaying this web page. Changes to the site may not function properly. For a better experience, please update your browser to its latest version. Ideally, I'm hoping to only have to make changes to the client, but if the site itself needs to modified I can probably get it done.

  • How to perform "tracert" like operation from browser?

    I'm remotely investigating issue with my friend's WIN XP computer. The browsers (Chrome and IE) won't show any pages but message with err_connection_reset in details. I've tried to perform "telnet google.com 80" and send there "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" from console and everything went fine, but browsers refused to give me anything. I've checked for presence of firewalls and proxy servers in the settings, but nothing seems to be there. What else to check?

Without going into detail (and as silly as it may sound for a grown man to need something like this), I need to build a me-proof service to run on my Windows 7 Ultra laptop. I still need fairly complete access to the system, though. How can I set things up so that I'm unable to "easily" (ie. within 3-5 mins without rebooting) stop the service or prevent it from running?

  • IIS/MSSQL HA on two servers? NLB + Mirroring

    Currently have the one server doing MSSQL/IIS. Can use NLB with two servers running IIS for HA and can use database mirroring and put the failover partner in the connection string for HA. Can we use NLB + Mirroring together? So if one of the servers died (ie power plug removed), everything will continue to work (after the timeout for the mirror to become the principal)?

  • Many TCP connexions localajaxchat <=> 1e100

    Hi all! I don't get that: as soon as I open a Webpage, whether it's with Firefox or Chrome (I hate so much IE that I didn't test with it), there are tons of TCP connexions between "localajaxchat" and a supposed google ("1e100") domain. I've already read this topic, but my problem seems strange because there are so many TCP connexions for only one page... I don't get it. If someone could explain this problem to me... Thanks a lot!

I can click Continue to this website (not recommended). but I use IE for automation testing so I have to avoid these extra clicks. Any idea?   • How can I automatically require a password when connecting to a WD MyBookLive?

    I have created a user which has specific privileges to access the shares on our WD MyBookLive Network drive (ie it requires a password to connect), however after connecting once Windows seems to remember the password (or at least for the rest of the session). How can I make it so it is necessary to require a password every time the user connects to the drive or makes some change on Windows? I am particularly thinking of Cryptolocker and other variants of "ransomeware" which will try and connect to the drive and encrypt it.

    I would like to use an alias for a remote host. For example, when instead of "ping giraffe.foo.bar.com" I want to do "ping giraffe", but only when I do it from my own machine. I am able to do this for raw IP addresses by adding an entry in /etc/hosts (ie "123.456.1.0 giraffe"), but it does not seem to work for host names.

  • Linux boot - stop the kernel switching to a new framebuffer mode clearing output

    I'm working on an embedded system (based onUbuntu 12.04 LTS) and I'm customizing its kernel. I'm having some problem with upstart, mountall and plymouth. Nothing unsolvable I suppose, but the real problem is that I can't diagnose properly what's going on because the kernel (or maybe plymouth) changes the video mode in the middle of the boot process. This completely wipes entire lines of log and prevents any debugging of kernel misconfigurations.     I've mapped my domain users to a remote share, and I'm trying to get rid of the security warning that appears whenever a file is run from the remote share. I've tried adding the FQDN to the intranet list with no prevail and I'm starting to go crazy. I've also turned off IE Enhanced Security Configuration for both Admins and Users.     I have a server that currently uses htpasswd to authenticate users. I'm migrating to using LDAP, but my LDAP server is only for user authentication, not allowing me to add groups. I still need to use groups as they are used for access control via the Apache Directory tags in my configuration. The alternative is to revisit the access control altogether, using php or something of the sort to limit access. this works for 'basic' authentication <Directory /misc/www/html/site> #LDAP & other config stuff irrelevant to issue Require ldap-group cn=<service>,ou=Groups,dc=<service>,dc=<org>,dc=com </Directory> attempted <Directory /misc/www/html/site> #LDAP & other config stuff irrelevant to issue #groups file from previous configuration using htpasswd #tried to tweak to match new user format, but I don't think it looks up in here AuthGroupFile /misc/www/htpasswd/groups #added the group, which is how it works when using htpasswd Require ldap-group cn=<service>,ou=Groups,dc=<service>,dc=<org>,dc=com group xyz </Directory>

  • data transfer rate anomaly (internet)

    I tested my internet speed at speedtest.net. And go the result. .42Mbps Download and .21 Upload rate. My classmate got the same download speed of .42Mbps but has .87Mbps upload rate. Does upload rate affect the transfer rate?Because even though we got the same download speed. His transfer rate is about 100kbps downloading a movie from a torrent. And mine is only about 47kbps. Also the same torrent. And even direct download its always 47kbps. Is it possible to tweak something in order to have higher transfer rates. Other details: Were also both using the same ISP. The same slow ISP. And it seems that he's getting the most out of his connection even if his plan is lower than mine. I just don't know why I'm a loser at this. And when I try to complain to the ISP. They say that I'm getting the minimum speed and its okay. That really sucks. And I'm not using any router, so is he. The computer is directly connected to the internet using the modem provided by the ISP.
