• How to read and save data from text file with variable number of columns in a Matrix in Matlab

  I have a text file with integer values. each row contains information about specific object. But unfortunately each row has different number of column. because of which when i try to use file_content = load('txtfile.txt'); it gives me error message that previous number of columns does not match. i also tried to use fgetl, fscanf, etc function but was unsuccessful. Can anybody give me a piece of code, or help me how to read a txt file and save in matrix in matlab. • hyperlink in firefox to windows share

  I am having trouble creating a hyperlink to a windows share, that works correctly in firefox and IE9. The original line was this: <a href="\\10.1.3.33\sharename\filename.txt" target="_new">Link</a> This works correctly in IE9, andopens the file as you would expect. However, this does not seem to work in firefox, as it just appends the above to the root directory, so it ends up looking in: /\10.1.3.33/sharename/filename I have tried as someone suggested and appending file:// to the pathname, but this does not seem to load anything in firefox, but does work in IE. Can anyone advise on what I should be using the get a link to a network share working in all browsers? Many thanks, Eds

Question: I have a legacy system with users and files, the info of all files pertaining to a user are stored on a flat file. I want to upgrade this system by storing all info on a db, design tables, and create a C# system that will populate the new db as well as ftp the files to a new path. Define the desgin consideration and develop a prototype. Note: We are looking more for what design one would use and why rather than code that compiles. • Can C/C++ compiler report struct member offset

  Hello, everyone. I'd like to ask, can compiler(e.g. Visual C++) generate a report(.txt) telling struct member offset for a struct/all structs? If so, it helps debugging quite a lot. For example, when you read disassembler code in the debugger, it can be easier to associate an offset value to a struct member. Also, it is better to have compiler report offset of each local variable on a function stack frame(e.g. the offset relative to ebp on an X86 machine). Thank you in advance.

  At the end of the README.txt file which is located in the example directory under solr, I find this line: NOTE: This Solr example server references SolrCell jars outside of the server directory with statements in the solrconfig.xml. If you make a copy of this example server and wish to use the ExtractingRequestHandler (SolrCell), you will need to copy the required jars into solr/lib or update the paths to the jars in your solrconfig.xml What does this mean? Do I have to make some adjustment before uploading solr to my server? Also, if you know, what is Solr-nightly:s difference to regular solr? The tutorial states "solr-nightly.zip" but on their download section I cant find it.

  I created an app for Windows Mobile 6.5 and am fairly happy with it. However, if anyone else need to use this app, they will have to transfer an initial file (txt or csv) to the device. For a developer this isn't a problem but is this too much to ask of an end user? Granted, they will want to move (sync) data back to their desktop after the device's data have been updated. So how do other apps solve this problem? Do I need to provide some kind of syncing software?

• How can I provide links to intranet files through ASP.net?

  Conditions: The files must be opened outside of the window that the link to them is in. I have tried href, but when I give it an intranet link it only opens correctly if I leave out target="_blank"; if I put that in, the new window that opens doesn't receive the full link if there is a pound sign in the filepath... a direct link to the intranet address \a\b\c#c.txt would be fine with me; there is no concern about security, but I can't seem to get that to happen in a new window. It seems like this is happening when I don't create a new window, but I can't utilize the same window to open the links. Any ideas?

• Debug error in NetBeans

  I am running a C program in NetBeans (cygwin on windows). Generally for all C programs I have run in the past, while debugging, it stops and shows the line number of segmentation fault. But for this particular program, it does not show the line number and just stops and in the output tab, it shows prog stopped by SIGSEGV. I have tried conditional breakpoint, but it is not stopping. What could be the other conditions for error?   Hi, relatively new to both hosting and PHP, so apologies for (probably) missing the obvious, but… I built a page which would allow file uploads to my site, following the example laid out here: W3Schools PHP upload exercise Through the File Manage on my Godaddy hosting, I created a folder named ’upload’ so that the file would land there after being uploaded through the page I had built. Part of the returned page that appears after submitted the file reads: Temp file: d:temptmpphpE4C9.tmp Stored in: upload/testfile.txt which would indicate that the file has been sucesscully uploaded given the code in the example. However, I cannot see the file in the ’upload’ folder via my File Manage, or anywhere else on the hosting of my site (as far as I can see). I also cannot see the ’temp’ folder anywhere either… Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tim

  I'm trying to create an online application for a python function i have created. in my script, i input the path of my file for the computer (input_path = '/users/user/desktop/input.txt') but i'm not sure how to go about this using Google App Engine . I have the choice between 3 templates: flask, django, and bottle . I really do believe this question is relevant for people transitioning from scripts to web-based applications. Do I need to incorporate GUI stuff from Tkinter or something? There has to be a way to simply select a file to use for the input path in an interactive way using python scripts

  Hi, I'm very new to ruby. I'm trying to search for any instance of a word in a text file (not the problem). Then when the word is discovered, it would show the surrounding text (maybe 3-4 words before and after the target word, instead of the whole line), output to a list of instances and continue searching. Example "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog." Search word = "jumped" Output = "...brown fox jumped over the..." Any help is appreciated. Thanks! • What are the best security measures to take for making certain directories private?

  I have a directory on my server that I do not want Search Engines to crawl and I already set this rule in robots.txt I do want people that have logged in to be able to have access to this directory without having to enter a password or anything. I am thinking that a cookie is the best thing to put on users computers after they login, and if they have a cookie, they can access the directory. Is this possible, or is there a better way? I want people without this cookie to not have access to this directory - access for members only Any suggestions on the best design for this?

• Why does this bash command take up all space on device?

  Hey! I'm a little new on searching via bash, so feel free to give me suggestions on the methods to use instead of this, which I'll never use again :) I'm searching for occurances of a string, recursively in a directory, with ~50 not-that-large php-files in it; some in current directory, some in directories beneath current dir, three levels of directories down at most. The method I'm using is: find . | xargs grep "module" > module.txt When in simple (one level) directories, this works fine, but in this case, the file became 4 GB large until it filled up all space on the partition :) It wasn't even done yet.. Would someone educate me so I won't embarass myself again?
