  • Wrapper background image gets cut off at the top

    My site has a wrapper with three background images. A static top and bottom image and a third image that repeats along the y axis. For some reason the top background image is getting cut off and I can't figure out way. Here is a link to the live site: http://storrepictures.weebly.com/projects.html I have offset the top and bottom images so you can see what they look like. You can see that the top one is cut off. I've tried messing around with some of the div padding settings but can't seem to get it to work. One interesting note: The background images used to be JPEGs (I switched to PNG files because I needed transparency). When I was using JPEGs this was not a problem - the three images lined up perfectly. Let me know if it would help to have the actual code posted. From what I've been reading on this forum, people seem to like looking at the live site and I didn't want to make the post too long. Thanks a lot for all your help.

  • TabHost / TabWidget - Scale Background Image ?

    I need to scale my TabWidget background images so they maintain aspect ratio. I am using a TabHost with a TabWidget. I am then using setBackgroundDrawable to set the images. I found a close answer here - Background in tab widget ignore scaling. However, I'm not sure just where to add the new Drawable code. (Working with the HelloTabWidget example, none of my modules use RelativeLayout, and I don't see any layout for "tabcontent".) I also found this thread - Android: Scale a Drawable or background image?. According to it, it sounds like I would have to pre-scale my images, which defeats the whole purpose of making them scaleable. I also found another thread where someone subclassed the Drawable class so it would either not scale, or it would scale properly. I can't find it now, but that seems like a LOT to go through when you should just be able to do something simple like mTab.setScaleType(centerInside).     Do you love listening to music while you browse? Now you can access and control your favorite music player directly from Firefox with the FoxyTunes extension. FoxyTunes in Action Once you have installed the extension and restarted Firefox you will see the FoxyTunes Toolbar located in the “Status Bar”. The default media app is Windows Media Player but can be easily changed. Here are the buttons/items available with the default settings: Search, FoxyTunes Main Menu, Show Player, Select Player, Previous Track, Play, Next Track, Mute On/Off, Volume, Play File, Twitty Tunes, Foxy Tunes Search/Explore, Open FoxyTunes Planet, & Toggle Visibility/Drag and drop to move. Note: You can hide or show individual buttons/items using the “FoxyTunes Menus”. Curious about the media players that FoxyTunes works with? Here is a complete listing…that definitely looks terrific! Notice that the currently selected media app is “bold and blue”. For our example we chose Spotify which we have previously covered. Keep in mind that you may or may not need to have your favorite media app open prior to “starting” FoxyTunes up (i.e. Play Button). Here is a good look at the “FoxyTunes Main Menu” and “Controls Sub-Menu”. The “Extras Menu”…if you click on skins you will be taken to the FoxyTunes Skins webpage. If you do not like having FoxyTunes in the “Status Bar” you can easily drag and drop it to another toolbar. With just a click or two you can greatly reduce its’ impact on your UI.     I work with in-house legacy communication framework which exposes some high level abstractions. These abstractions are wrappers with some logic around .NET threads. When I looked at code I've noticed that some abstractions are wrappers around foreground threads while others are wrappers around background threads. The sad thing is that I don't see any logic why in some cases foreground threads are used and background in other cases. Are there any guidelines or patterns & practices when it's better to choose one over another on server side and client side (I believe there should be some difference)?

    I'm trying to get the background image of a legacy div (by which I mean it already has a background image, which I cannot control & thus have to initially over-write) to smoothly fade between new images indefinitely. EDIT: question originally said "and it's not indefinite (it only runs once through the array).", but Mario corrected my stupid naming error. EDIT2: I'm now using Reigel's answer (see below), which works perfectly, but I still can't find any way to fade between the images smoothly. All help greatfully appreciated :)

    Hi all, bit of a jquery rookie here trying to get something to work. Basically I have a div with a class "nav" and inside that div is a nav list. I want to change the background-image of "nav" when hovering over an item in the navlist, so I made this unsuccesful effort: enter code here $(function(){ $("li#hover-first").mouseover(function(){ $("div.nav").removeClass("nav").addClass("navbg"); .mouseout(function(){$("div.nav").removeClass("navbg").addClass("nav"); }); So the idea is, once the first li item is hovered over, the div with classname "nav" has it's class removed and has "navbg" added (which has the alternate background image). Obviously this isn't working, so any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks.

I ssh into the machines then use matlab -r matlab_command > outfile.txt & to get the process to run in the background and run fine when I logout. The only problem is that when i jobs my process is stopped and won't start until I fg ^z bg. Is there a matlab flag so that I can run it in the background without having it stop? Thanks, Mike

I know that I can change the background of a field using something like this: $('input.numbersOnly').addClass('alertClass'); My question is, how do I combine the two code examples above so that the color of the field changes as the character is getting replaced?   • Oversize cursor in Firefox form with textbox background image

    Hi all, I have a webform with background images on the textboxes to give them a nice rounded corner. In Chrome the textboxes work as expected, however, if I view the form in Firefox the cursor appears to size to the height of the image, but the text is a normal size. Is there a way to override this oversized cursor?
