  • How to delay user login until RunOnce is completed? [Win XP]

    - by Shaitan00
    Currently I have an application that runs at startup when a user log's in to the account (administrative), as well as something under HKLM...\Run which is also executed - but I need to run something once and BEFORE both these things are executed. My solution was to use HKLM...\RunOnce which is executed before the HKLM...\Run but the task can take 30-45 seconds which gives enough time for the user Startup to be executed and launch the application prematurely. I thought of maybe including a SLEEP but RunOnce doesn't block the user account load... Then I considered the group policies but they do not have a RunOnce equivalent that I can use... Also I am not sure if Group Policy is run at the right time (never used it before). Is there anyway to make my RunOnce delay the account startup of my application, or a better place where I can execute it before both HKLM...\Run and user Startup? Or any recommended alternatives? Any ideas or help would be much appreciated... Thanks,

  • How to determine the best "framerate" (setInterval delay) to use in a JavaScript animation loop?

    - by Ricket
    When writing a JavaScript animation, you of course make a loop using setInterval (or repeated setTimeout). But what is the best delay to use in the setInterval/setTimeout call(s)? In the jQuery API page for the .animate() function, the user "fbogner" says: Just if anyone is interested: Animations are "rendered" using a setInterval with a time out of 13ms. This is quite fast! Chrome's fastest possible interval is about 10ms. All other browsers "sample" at about 20-30ms. Any idea how jQuery determined to use this specific number?

  • Delay and Inconsistent results using Twitter search API when using "since_id" parameter.

    - by benr
    Hi. We've noticed what seems to be a delay and/or inconsistent results using the Twitter Search API when specifying a sinceid in the param clause. For example: http://search.twitter.com/search?ors=%23b4esummit+@b4esummit+b4esummit&q=&result_type=recent&rpp=100&show_user=true&since_id= Will give the most recent Tweets, but: http://search.twitter.com/search?ors=%23b4esummit+@b4esummit+b4esummit&q=&result_type=recent&rpp=100&show_user=true&since_id= 12642940173 will often not give tweets that are after that ID for several hours (even though they're visible in the first query)... anyone have similar problems?

  • Steps to take for figuring out the delay when calling service and loading data with the result?

    - by VoodooChild
    Hello, In a client server app, where client front end is done in silverlight using C# and the services are the WCF services. If I am to hit the service and do a query and bring back a result and I notice that it is taking a relatively long time to load my page which is just loading the grid with the data, what things should I look at fix this issue or how would I fix this issue? What steps could I take to determine the problem? where is the bottle-neck, can anyone know from the little information provided here? Does this have anything to do with serialization? Any insight on what could be causing this delay? My service calls are made async. I hope this question makes sense :) Thanks

  • How do I delay email delivery using Entourage 2008 with Exchange, e.g. using the X.400 Deferred-Delivery header?

    - by Matt McClure
    I'd like to delay the delivery of email that I send so that I can time delivery when the recipient is unlikely to be reading email and I can reduce the likelihood of getting into a chat-like conversation. I'm using Entourage 2008 and Exchange hosted by Rackspace. I tried naively adding a Deferred-Delivery header after reading http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2156.html and www.itu.int/rec/T-REC-F.400-199906-I/en , but my mail was delivered immediately. Ideally the delay would occur on the MTA instead of my MUA so that delivery would still occur even if my laptop were disconnected from the network at the delivery time I specify. My best workaround at the moment is to habitually use Entourage's Send Later button when composing mail and then click Send/Receive at the end of the day. This is less than ideal because recipients are often reading mail at the end of my day, and I often get immediate replies. Matt

  • How can I slightly delay the pop up of the task bar?

    - by Xavierjazz
    Windows XP SP3 Many times as I head to the bottom of my desktop, I will slightly overshoot the target at the bottom and the task bar will pop up, hiding the target. I then have to move the cursor out of it so it retreats and then again try to access the target. Is there a way to add an interval, say, 1 second, to the task bar popping up so I can adjust to the target before the task bar covers it? EDIT: as per my answer below, "What I ended up doing is just docking it on the LH side of the screen. There is no change in response but I don't go to that location so often so it's much better.".

  • How to build a Django form which requires a delay to be re-submitted ?

    - by pierre-guillaume-degans
    Hey, In order to avoid spamming, I would like to add a waiting time to re-submit a form (i.e. the user should wait a few seconds to submit the form, except the first time that this form is submitted). To do that, I added a timestamp to my form (and a security_hash field containing the timestamp plus the settings.SECRET_KEY which ensures that the timestamp is not fiddled with). This look like: class MyForm(forms.Form): timestamp = forms.IntegerField(widget=forms.HiddenInput) security_hash = forms.CharField(min_length=40, max_length=40, widget=forms.HiddenInput) # + some other fields.. # + methods to build the hash and to clean the timestamp... # (it is based on django.contrib.comments.forms.CommentSecurityForm) def clean_timestamp(self): """Make sure the delay is over (5 seconds).""" ts = self.cleaned_data["timestamp"] if not time.time() - ts > 5: raise forms.ValidationError("Timestamp check failed") return ts # etc... This works fine. However there is still an issue: the timestamp is checked the first time the form is submitted by the user, and I need to avoid this. Any idea to fix it ? Thank you ! :-)

  • How to solve the delay problem in animation of sprites ?

    - by srikanth rongali
    My problem is, I did coding for a sprite. It should change it should change it's image from( 1, 2, 3). It should look like count down time to start a game. 1, 2, 3 are 3 png images. But the images are not displayed in equal intervals of time. I mean time between (1 - 2), (2 - 3) is not same. It is random. Please help me with my problem. Help me if there is better solution than what I am doing.(My animation should be like, before any game starts we see count down 1 then 2 then 3 then GO). -(id)init { if((self = [super init])) { [[CCDirector sharedDirector] setAnimationInterval:60.0/60]; [[CCDirector sharedDirector] setDisplayFPS:NO]; CCAnimation* numberAnimation = [CCAnimation animationWithName:@"countDown" delay: 60.0/60]; for( int i=1;i<4;i++) [numberAnimation addFrameWithFilename: [NSString stringWithFormat:@"number_%02d.png", i]]; id numberAction = [CCAnimate actionWithAnimation: numberAnimation restoreOriginalFrame:NO]; id action2 = [CCFadeOut actionWithDuration:0.5f]; CCSprite *number; number = [CCSprite spriteWithFile:@"number.png"]; .... } }

  • How to set the delay between update queries in Mysql so that every query get executed succesfully?

    - by OM The Eternity
    Hi All I have to the Update query mulitple times for different parameters using for loop in my PHP Script, now the problem Is Whenever I do it, only my last query get executed, all the previous queries seems to be skipped. the loop goes like this: foreach($cntrlflagset as $cntrlordoc => $cntrlorflag){ for($t=0;$t<count($cntrlorflag);$t++){ $userlvl = "controller"; $docflag = 1; $postfix = "created"; $createdoc->updatedocseeflags($cntrlorflag[$t],$docflag,$cntrlordoc,$postfix,$userlvl); $docflag = 2; $postfix = "midlvl"; $createdoc->updatedocseeflags($cntrlorflag[$t],$docflag,$cntrlordoc,$postfix,$userlvl); } } Here, the called function $createdoc-updatedocseeflags($cntrlorflag[$t],$docflag,$cntrlordoc,$postfix,$userlvl); Contains the Update query: $query = "UPDATE tbl_docuserstatus SET"; //if($flag != ""){ $query .= " docseeflag_".$postfix." = '".$flag."'"; //} $query .= " WHERE doc_id = '".$doc_id."' AND user_id = '".$user_id."'"; if($userlvl == "midlvl"){ $query .= " AND doc_midlvluser = '1'"; }elseif($userlvl == "finallvl"){ $query .= " AND doc_finallvluser = '1'"; }elseif($userlvl == "creator"){ $query .= " AND doc_creator = '1'"; }elseif($userlvl == "controller"){ $query .= " AND doc_controller = '1'"; }elseif($docarchive == 1){ $query .= " AND doc_controller = '1'"; } So could some one tell me, How to set the delay between update queries in Mysql so that every query get executed succesfully? Thanks In Advance

  • Weird vps server issue

    - by anon-user0
    I have an unmanaged linux vps Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot). I have LNMP installed. Also php-fpm php-apc, varnish, memcache. I have (or rather had) several live sites on it. under normal load the server uses ~700 mb memory. But since last night its using only 20mb~ memory and a lot of the services seems to be down (according to htop) I only see nginx working and mysql starts up and goes does every few minutes on a loop. Here are some information on the server that might help you help me: root@server:~# uname -a Linux server 2.6.18-308.el5.028stab099.3 #1 SMP Wed Mar 7 15:56:00 MSK 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux - root@server:~# ifconfig -a lo Link encap:Local Loopback LOOPBACK MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) venet0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 inet addr:127.0.0.2 P-t-P:127.0.0.2 Bcast:0.0.0.0 Mask:255.255.255.255 UP BROADCAST POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:12515 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:9541 errors:0 dropped:1 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:7191214 (7.1 MB) TX bytes:536726 (536.7 KB) venet0:0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 inet addr:176.31.158.78 P-t-P:176.31.158.78 Bcast:0.0.0.0 Mask:255.255.255.255 UP BROADCAST POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MTU:1500 Metric:1 - root@server:~# netstat -l Active Internet connections (only servers) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State tcp 0 0 *:http-alt *:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 *:ssh *:* LISTEN tcp6 0 0 [::]:http-alt [::]:* LISTEN tcp6 0 0 [::]:ssh [::]:* LISTEN Active UNIX domain sockets (only servers) Proto RefCnt Flags Type State I-Node Path unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 9307368 @/com/ubuntu/upstart - htop: http://i.stack.imgur.com/NHKYX.png EDIT: Stressed. mind was not working adding log: root@server:~# less /var/log/syslog Jun 27 05:27:42 server syslogd 1.5.0#6ubuntu1: restart. • Cannot work for 2nd iteration because of writing delay.

    - by karikari
    My code's IF-THEN does not work for 2nd iteration. This is due to, the jar processing take some time to write it result inside the output.txt. Since the writing is a bit late, my code's 2nd iteration will always read the previous written value inside the output.txt in order to pass it to the IF-THEN. For example, in 1st iteration: output.txt -- 0.9888 twrite.txt -- msg: ok 2nd iteration: output.txt -- 0.5555 twrite.txt -- msg: ok //the IF-THEN still gives this result which is based on previous iteration. it should be msg: not ok . since it is < 0.7 I need help, how to solve this 'delay' problem? HRESULT CButtonDemoBHO::onDocumentComplete(IDispatch *pDisp, VARIANT *vUrl){ ATLTRACE("CButtonDemoBHO::onDocumentComplete %S\n", vUrl->bstrVal); WinHttpClient client(vUrl->bstrVal); client.SendHttpRequest(); wstring httpResponseHeader = client.GetHttpResponseHeader(); wstring httpResponse = client.GetHttpResponse(); writeToLog(httpResponse.c_str()); if (isMainFrame(pDisp)){ m_normalPageLoad=false; FILE *child = _popen("javaw -jar c:\\simmetrics.jar c:\\chtml.txt c:\\thtml.txt > c:\\output.txt", "r"); fclose(child); char readnumber[10]; float f = 0; FILE *file11 = fopen("c:\\output.txt","r"); char* p = fgets(readnumber,10,file11); std::istringstream iss(p); iss >> f; if (f > 0.7) { wfstream file12 ("c:\\twrite.txt", ios_base::out); file12 << "Msg: ok"; file12.close(); } else { wfstream file12 ("c:\\twrite.txt", ios_base::out); file12 << "Msg: not ok"; file12.close(); } iss.clear(); fclose(file11); return S_OK; } return S_OK; }

  • Sendmail Failing to Forward Locally Addressed Mail to Exchange Server

    - by DomainSoil
    I've recently gained employment as a web developer with a small company. What they neglected to tell me upon hire was that I would be administrating the server along with my other daily duties. Now, truth be told, I'm not clueless when it comes to these things, but this is my first rodeo working with a rack server/console.. However, I'm confident that I will be able to work through any solutions you provide. Short Description: When a customer places an order via our (Magento CE 1.8.1.0) website, a copy of said order is supposed to be BCC'd to our sales manager. I say supposed because this was a working feature before the old administrator left. Long Description: Shortly after I started, we had a server crash which required a server restart. After restart, we noticed a few features on our site weren't working, but all those have been cleaned up except this one. I had to create an account on our server for root access. When a customer places an order, our sites software (Magento CE 1.8.1.0) is configured to BCC the customers order email to our sales manager. We use a Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server for our mail, which is hosted on a different machine (in-house) that I don't have access to ATM, but I'm sure I could if needed. As far as I can tell, all other external emails work.. Only INTERNAL email addresses fail to deliver. I know this because I've also tested my own internal address via our website. I set up an account with an internal email, made a test order, and never received the email. I changed my email for the account to an external GMail account, and received emails as expected. Let's dive into the logs and config's. For privacy/security reasons, names have been changed to the following: domain.com = Our Top Level Domain. email.local = Our Exchange Server. example.com = ANY other TLD. OLDadmin = Our previous Server Administrator. NEWadmin = Me. SALES@ = Our Sales Manager. Customer# = A Customer. Here's a list of the programs and config files used that hold relevant for this issue: Server: > [root@www ~]# cat /etc/centos-release CentOS release 6.3 (final) Sendmail: > [root@www ~]# sendmail -d0.1 -bt < /dev/null Version 8.14.4 ========SYSTEM IDENTITY (after readcf)======== (short domain name) $w = domain (canonical domain name) $j = domain.com (subdomain name) $m = com (node name) $k = www.domain.com > [root@www ~]# rpm -qa | grep -i sendmail sendmail-cf-8.14.4-8.e16.noarch sendmail-8.14-4-8.e16.x86_64 nslookup: > [root@www ~]# nslookup email.local Name: email.local Address: 192.168.1.50 hostname: > [root@www ~]# hostname www.domain.com /etc/mail/access: > [root@www ~]# vi /etc/mail/access Connect:localhost.localdomain RELAY Connect:localhost RELAY Connect:127.0.0.1 RELAY /etc/mail/domaintable: > [root@www ~]# vi /etc/mail/domaintable # /etc/mail/local-host-names: > [root@www ~]# vi /etc/mail/local-host-names # /etc/mail/mailertable: > [root@www ~]# vi /etc/mail/mailertable # /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: > [root@www ~]# vi /etc/mail/sendmail.cf ###################################################################### ##### ##### DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE! • Why does use of H264 in sender/receiver pipelines introduce just HUGE delay?

    - by Serguey Zefirov
    When I try to create pipeline that uses H264 to transmit video, I get some enormous delay, up to 10 seconds to transmit video from my machine to... my machine! This is unacceptable for my goals and I'd like to consult StackOverflow over what I (or someone else) do wrong. I took pipelines from gstrtpbin documentation page and slightly modified them to use Speex: This is sender pipeline: #!/bin/sh gst-launch -v gstrtpbin name=rtpbin \ v4l2src ! ffmpegcolorspace ! ffenc_h263 ! rtph263ppay ! rtpbin.send_rtp_sink_0 \ rtpbin.send_rtp_src_0 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5000 \ rtpbin.send_rtcp_src_0 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5001 sync=false async=false \ udpsrc port=5005 ! rtpbin.recv_rtcp_sink_0 \ pulsesrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! audio/x-raw-int,rate=16000 ! \ speexenc bitrate=16000 ! rtpspeexpay ! rtpbin.send_rtp_sink_1 \ rtpbin.send_rtp_src_1 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5002 \ rtpbin.send_rtcp_src_1 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5003 sync=false async=false \ udpsrc port=5007 ! rtpbin.recv_rtcp_sink_1 Receiver pipeline: !/bin/sh gst-launch -v\ gstrtpbin name=rtpbin \ udpsrc caps="application/x-rtp,media=(string)video, clock-rate=(int)90000, encoding-name=(string)H263-1998" \ port=5000 ! rtpbin.recv_rtp_sink_0 \ rtpbin. ! rtph263pdepay ! ffdec_h263 ! xvimagesink \ udpsrc port=5001 ! rtpbin.recv_rtcp_sink_0 \ rtpbin.send_rtcp_src_0 ! udpsink port=5005 sync=false async=false \ udpsrc caps="application/x-rtp,media=(string)audio, clock-rate=(int)16000, encoding-name=(string)SPEEX, encoding-params=(string)1, payload=(int)110" \ port=5002 ! rtpbin.recv_rtp_sink_1 \ rtpbin. ! rtpspeexdepay ! speexdec ! audioresample ! audioconvert ! alsasink \ udpsrc port=5003 ! rtpbin.recv_rtcp_sink_1 \ rtpbin.send_rtcp_src_1 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5007 sync=false async=false Those pipelines, a combination of H263 and Speex, work fine enough. I snap my fingers near camera and micropohne and then I see movement and hear sound at the same time. Then I changed pipelines to use H264 along the video path. The sender becomes: #!/bin/sh gst-launch -v gstrtpbin name=rtpbin \ v4l2src ! ffmpegcolorspace ! x264enc bitrate=300 ! rtph264pay ! rtpbin.send_rtp_sink_0 \ rtpbin.send_rtp_src_0 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5000 \ rtpbin.send_rtcp_src_0 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5001 sync=false async=false \ udpsrc port=5005 ! rtpbin.recv_rtcp_sink_0 \ pulsesrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! audio/x-raw-int,rate=16000 ! \ speexenc bitrate=16000 ! rtpspeexpay ! rtpbin.send_rtp_sink_1 \ rtpbin.send_rtp_src_1 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5002 \ rtpbin.send_rtcp_src_1 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5003 sync=false async=false \ udpsrc port=5007 ! rtpbin.recv_rtcp_sink_1 And receiver becomes: #!/bin/sh gst-launch -v\ gstrtpbin name=rtpbin \ udpsrc caps="application/x-rtp,media=(string)video, clock-rate=(int)90000, encoding-name=(string)H264" \ port=5000 ! rtpbin.recv_rtp_sink_0 \ rtpbin. ! rtph264depay ! ffdec_h264 ! xvimagesink \ udpsrc port=5001 ! rtpbin.recv_rtcp_sink_0 \ rtpbin.send_rtcp_src_0 ! udpsink port=5005 sync=false async=false \ udpsrc caps="application/x-rtp,media=(string)audio, clock-rate=(int)16000, encoding-name=(string)SPEEX, encoding-params=(string)1, payload=(int)110" \ port=5002 ! rtpbin.recv_rtp_sink_1 \ rtpbin. ! rtpspeexdepay ! speexdec ! audioresample ! audioconvert ! alsasink \ udpsrc port=5003 ! rtpbin.recv_rtcp_sink_1 \ rtpbin.send_rtcp_src_1 ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5007 sync=false async=false This is what happen under Ubuntu 10.04. I didn't noticed such huge delays on Ubuntu 9.04 - the delays there was in range 2-3 seconds, AFAIR.

Why is Postfix attempting to connect to other machines as seen in the log? Mail is being sent properly, other than that, it appears all is good. • Flash gets XML but the values are wrong, as3

    - by VideoDnd
    Flash receives the XML, but the values are wrong. How do I fix this? Problem I can see the XML loaded with no errors, but my output is way off. It's as though it's not receiving any values. Numbers in the output window and animation move rapidly. The Flash file runs as if it's variables where set to zero. I changed the order of my code, but that didn't help with this. Please explain how I can correct this. SWF //load xml var myXML:XML; var myLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); myLoader.load(new URLRequest("xml.xml")); myLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, processXML); //parse XML function processXML(e:Event):void { myXML = new XML(e.target.data); trace(myXML); //receive values from XML delay = parseInt(myXML.DELAY.text()); trace(delay); repeat = parseInt(myXML.REPEAT.text()); trace(repeat); } //variables var delay:uint = 0; var repeat:uint = 0; //timer and event var timer:Timer = new Timer(uint(delay),uint(repeat)); timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, countdown); //counter function countdown(event:TimerEvent) { myText.text = String(0 + timer.currentCount); trace(0 + timer.currentCount); } timer.start(); XML <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <SESSION> <DELAY TITLE="starting position">1000</DELAY> <REPEAT TITLE="starting position">60</REPEAT> </SESSION>

  • LIBPCAP and WIRESHARK Capture on PPP

    - by user655629
    Hi, I have written a small bridge program using LIBPCAP API. I have installed Winpcap 3.1 Beta for support in order to capture from a PPP interface. What i do is, I capture from the PPP interface through my LIBPCAP program and send the traffic to another Ethernet interface in my computer. Then i connect this Ethernet Interface to another Ethernet Interface at another computer where i monitor it through Wireshark. So in short my PPP-Ethernet Bridge is on computer 1. And Another computer2 directly connected to computer1 on Ethernet monitors the incoming traffic from the bridge through wireshark. The problem i face is that when i capture PPP traffic through wireshark in computer1, i see reasonable delay between the packets. But when i use my LIBPCAP program to capture and relay traffic and check the traffic on computer 2 using Wireshark it gives jumps of 0.5seconds delay after some packets. This is quite unexplainable to me. I dont understand how wireshark PPP direct capture on computer 1 does not give delay and LIBPCAP program is giving delay. I have checked my bridge for Ethernet to Ethernet relaying and there is no delay like the one i am experiencing in case of PPP-Ethernet. a higher delay between packets is acceptable but such a BIG delay after a couple of packets is unacceptable. Please help if you can. Best Regards FIKA

  • How to use references, avoid header bloat, and delay initialization?

    - by Kyle
    I was browsing for an alternative to using so many shared_ptrs, and found an excellent reply in a comment section: Do you really need shared ownership? If you stop and think for a few minutes, I'm sure you can pinpoint one owner of the object, and a number of users of it, that will only ever use it during the owner's lifetime. So simply make it a local/member object of the owners, and pass references to those who need to use it. I would love to do this, but the problem becomes that the definition of the owning object now needs the owned object to be fully defined first. For example, say I have the following in FooManager.h: class Foo; class FooManager { shared_ptr<Foo> foo; shared_ptr<Foo> getFoo() { return foo; } }; Now, taking the advice above, FooManager.h becomes: #include "Foo.h" class FooManager { Foo foo; Foo& getFoo() { return foo; } }; I have two issues with this. First, FooManager.h is no longer lightweight. Every cpp file that includes it now needs to compile Foo.h as well. Second, I no longer get to choose when foo is initialized. It must be initialized simultaneously with FooManager. How do I get around these issues?

  • What's the point of delay signing of an .NET assembly?

    - by smwikipedia
    I noticed that after I use AssemblyDelaySignAttribute to indicate that an assembly is in development and does not need to be signed now, I'll have to use sn -Vr foolib.dll to register for strong name verification to be turned off for this assembly. What's the point of doing this circle? Why not just leave the assembly unsigned until it's fully done? Isn't that less bothering?

  • How to code a time delay between plotting points in JFreeCharts?

    - by Javajava
    Is there a way to animate the plotting process of an xy-line chart using JFreeCharts? I want to be able to watch the program draw each line segment and connect them. For example, if I paste this into the TextArea, "gtgtaaacaatatatggcg," I want to watch it graph each line segment one by one. Thanks in advance! :) My code is below: import java.util.Scanner; import java.applet.Applet; import java.awt.; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import org.jfree.chart.; import org.jfree.chart.plot.PlotOrientation; import org.jfree.data.xy.*; public class RandomWalkComplete extends Applet implements ActionListener { Panel panel; TextArea textarea, outputArea; Button move,exit; String thetext; Scanner reader = new Scanner(System.in); String thetext2; Label instructions; int x,y; public void init() { setSize(500,250); //set size of applet instructions=new Label("Paste the gene sequences in the " + "text field and press the graph button."); add(instructions); panel = new Panel(); add(panel); setVisible(true); textarea= new TextArea(10,20); add(textarea); move=new Button("Graph"); move.addActionListener(this); add(move); exit=new Button("Exit"); exit.addActionListener(this); add(exit); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { XYSeries series = new XYSeries("DNA Walk",false,true); x= 0; y = 0; series.add(x,y); if(e.getSource() == move) { thetext=textarea.getText(); //the text is the DNA bases pasted thetext=thetext.replaceAll(" ",""); //removes spaces thetext2 = ""; for(int i=0; i<thetext.length(); i++) { char a = thetext.charAt(i); switch (a) { case 'A': case 'a'://moves right x+=1; y+=0; series.add(x,y); break; case 'C': case 'c': //moves up x+=0; y+=1; series.add(x,y); break; case 'G': case 'g': //move left x-=1; y+=0; series.add(x,y); break; case 'T': case 't'://move down x+=0; y-=1; series.add(x,y); break; default: // series.add(0,0); break; } } XYDataset xyDataset = new XYSeriesCollection(series); JFreeChart chart = ChartFactory.createXYLineChart ("DNA Random Walk", "", "", xyDataset, PlotOrientation.VERTICAL, true, true, false); ChartFrame frame1=new ChartFrame("DNA Random Walk",chart); frame1.setVisible(true); frame1.setSize(300,300); } if(e.getSource()==exit) {System.exit(0);} } public void stop(){} }
