    I have the following xml: <RowSet> <Row> <Number>12345</Number> <Quantity>42</Quantity> </Row> <Row> <Number>12345</Number> <Quantity>12</Quantity> </Row> <Row> <Number>54321</Number> <Quantity>37</Quantity> </Row> </RowSet> I want to use an xsl to combine the elements with the same Number and the resulting should sum the Quantity elements. So the output should look like this: <RowSet> <Row> <Number>12345</Number> <Quantity>64</Quantity> </Row> <Row> <Number>54321</Number> <Quantity>37</Quantity> </Row> </RowSet>

  • #nav css affecting all elements in page.

    Hey guys I set up this CSS file to use on the navbar: #nav { background-color: #98bf21; } #nav li { float:left; } #nav li ul{ position: absolute; width: 172px; left: -999em; } #nav li:hover ul{ left: auto; } #nav a:link,a:visited { display:block; width:164px; font-weight:bold; color:white; background-color:#98bf21; text-align:center; padding:4px; text-decoration:none; text-transform:uppercase; } #nav a:hover,a:active { background-color: #7A991A; } And it seems to be affecting all the elements. For example all elements take the styles if the #nav a styles. Is there something I'm missing here? I'm new to web design.

    Take a simple XML file formatted like this: <Lists> <List> <Note/> ... <Note/> </List> <List> <Note/> ... <Note/> </List> </Lists> Each node has some attributes that actually hold the data of the file. I need a very quick way to count the number of each type of element, (List and Note). Lists is simply the root and doesn't matter. I can do this with a simple string search or something similar, but I need to make this as fast as possible. Design Parameters: Must be in java (Android application). Must AVOID allocating memory as much as possible. Must return the total number of Note elements and the number of List elements in the file, regardless of location in file. Number of Lists will typically be small (1-4), and number of notes can potentially be very large (upwards of 1000, typically 100) per file. I look forward to your suggestions.

    Another XSD question - how can I achieve that the following XML elements are both valid: <some-element> <type>1</type> <a>...</a> </some-element> <some-element> <type>2</type> <b>...</b> </some-element> The sub-elements (either <a> or <b>) should depend on the content of <type> (could also be an attribute). It would be so simple in RelaxNG - but RelaxNG doesn't support key integrity :( Is there a way to implement this in XSD? Note: XML schema version 1.1 supports <xs:alternative>, which might be a solution, but afaik no reference implementation (e.g. libxml2) supports this yet. So I'm searching for workarounds. The only way I've come up with is: <type>1</type> <some-element type="1"> <!-- simple <xs:choice> between <a> and <b> goes here --> <a>...</a> </some-element> <!-- and now create a keyref between <type> and @type -->

  • My list item's child label elements disappear in IE on accordion menu opening

    I've got an app that's working pretty flawlessly in Chrome and FF, however, when I view it in IE, all is well until I click on a header element to activate it (jQuery accordion). What happens then is that I see a brief flash where the content is there, then suddenly the entire left column disappears. This column is generated by a floated label element with a class of ".left" as seen below... <ul class="menu collapsible"> <li class='expand sectionTitle'><a href='#'>General Settings</a> <ul class='acitem'> <li class="section"> <label class="left">This item if floated left with a defined width of 190px via css. This is the item that's disappearing after a brief display</label> <input class="input" value="input element here" /> <label class="description">This element has a margin-left:212px; set via css in order to be positioned to the right of the label element as if in an adjacent table cell. When I add a max-width property to this element, it disappears in IE too!</label> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> As you can see from the comments in the code above (for the two label elements) the description label disappears once I set a max-width on it (I don't have a max-width on the left label element, but it disappears nonetheless). The initial view of this UL menu is fine (note the expand class declaration which makes this part of the accordion open at startup. Its not until I click the "General Settings" to toggle it closed, then back open, that the left class elements disappear (and only in IE)

  • IE7 - jquery addClass() breaks floating elements

    I have this nav that uses addClass('hover') when the mouse is rolled over an item. This works fine except in IE7 when the addClass function is called every element with float:left stops floating and the page totally loses its structure. This is my JS: _this.position_sub_menus = function(){ $('#header #nav > ul > li').mouseenter( function(e){ pos = $(this).offset(); height = $(this).height(); lvl2 = '#' + $(this).attr('id') + '-submenu'; if( $(this).position().left > ($('#nav').width()/2)){ pos.left = pos.left - $(lvl2).width() + $(this).width(); } $(this).addClass('hover'); $(lvl2).show(); $(lvl2).css( { 'left' : (pos.left - 12) + 'px', 'top' : pos.top + height + 'px'}); } ); This is the CSS of the of the elements that break: display: inline; float: left; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; position: relative; It's CSS from the 960 grid system. When I comment out the $(this).addClass('hover'); line the floated elements dont break. Is anyone familiar with this IE7 problem? Thanks guys

    Hello, I've got a table with multiple <tbody> elements. At a given time, only one <tbody> is displayed, or all of them are displayed. I currently use this CSS3 code to stripe the table. table tr:nth-child(even) { background: #efefef; } When a single <tbody> element is shown, everything is (obviously) fine, but when multiple <tbody> elements are shown the CSS rules apply to each one separately, and each <tbody> has its own "stripes system". Together the stripes may or may not look consistent, depending on the number of rows. <tbody> <tr> [ODD] <tr> [EVEN] <tr> [ODD] </tbody> <tbody> <tr> [ODD] <tr> [EVEN] </tbody> ... Would I absolutely have to use JavaScript (...jQuery) to fix this?

Now I want to return all elements, whose attr_ is equal to attr_val.     I sometimes need to add elements (such as a new link and image) to an existing HTML page, but I only have access to a small portion of the page far from where I need to insert elements. I want to use DOM based JavaScript techniques, and I must avoid using document.write(). Thus far, I've been using something like this: // Create new image element var newImg = document.createElement("img"); newImg.src = "images/button.jpg"; newImg.height = "50"; newImg.width = "150"; newImg.alt = "Click Me"; // Create new link element var newLink = document.createElement("a"); newLink.href = "/dir/signup.html"; // Append new image into new link newLink.appendChild(newImg); // Append new link (with image) into its destination on the page document.getElementById("newLinkDestination").appendChild(newLink); Is there a more efficient way that I could use to accomplish the same thing?     I have XML files which I need to deserialize. I used the XSD tool from Visual Studio to create c# object files. the generated classes do deserialize the files except not in the way which I need. I would appreciate any help figuring out how to solve this problem. The child elements named 'data' should be attributes of the parent element 'task'.     Is there a simple way in SQL to convert a string or an array to rows of a table? For example, let's stay the string is 'a,b,c,d,e,f,g'. I'd prefer an SQL statement that takes that string, splits it at commas and inserts the resulting strings into a table. In PostgreSQL I can use regexp_split_to_array() and split the string into an array. So, if you know a way to insert an array's elements as rows into a table, that would work too.

  • How to get jQuery draggable elements scroll with mb.imageNavigator

    I am using jQuery mb.imageNavigator (1.8) from http://pupunzi.open-lab.com/mb-jquery-components/mb-imagenavigator/ to implements a Risk type game adjucation system. Using the imageNavigator plugin I am able to scroll around a large game map of the world. My issue is when I declare some elements as draggable and drag them onto the map image, their location does not stay relative to where in the picture I put them. They just stay fixed on the screen no matter where I scroll. Does anyone know how to make the the draggable elements scroll with the image?
