It should report the number of rows with the same values for (green.h.0, green.v.0, and offset.0) by only looking at the previous rows. The example above uses the expected values, but assume they are incorrect. How can I add a new column (say "count") which will count all previous rows which have the same values of the specified variables? I have gotten help on a similar problem of just selecting all rows with the same values for specified columns, so I supposed I could just write a loop around that, but it seems inefficient to me.

  I have a page where I have 4 tabs displaying 4 different reports based off different tables. I obtain the row count of each table using a select count(*) from <table> query and display number of rows available in each table on the tabs. As a result, each page postback causes 5 count(*) queries to be executed (4 to get counts and 1 for pagination) and 1 query for getting the report content. Now my question is: are count(*) queries really expensive -- should I keep the row counts (at least those that are displayed on the tab) in the view state of page instead of querying multiple times? How expensive are COUNT(*) queries ?

I've tried converting the comma separated values to a properly formatted array which still spits out1.   Good Morning - it is school assignment, I am not asking for any source code (if you can provide any pesudo code it would be awesome). Here is the problem :( I have to create a term frequency table. It is not pure TF, I just need to count the words and write down. I know basic steps to do it 1 - extract all terms (I can do it with file reader) 2 - remove repeating terms (I can do it with TreeMap) The output of 2nd step would be Niga, ponga, dinga, bitlo, etc. 3 - Now I have to see if there is any word in current file from above terms or not, if yes then I will count. Now this is my problem, I stucked on step 3 :( I have some idea how to count words with TreeMap (treemap.containskey etc.) but it would be global count not local count for each file :( Any pseudo code?

• Rails ActionCaching with Memcached fragment hit but action gets called anyway

  Hi stackoverflow. I'm running into something strange. I'm using memcached with a caches_action setup. I'm doing this in 4 different controllers. In two of them, it works flawlessly (so far), though admittedly those two controllers are less complicated than the two in which it doesn't seem to work. I'm doing something like this: caches_action :index, :expires_in => 6.hours, :cache_path => Proc.new {|controller| controller.send(:generate_cache_path) }, :layout => false, :if => Proc.new { |c| c.request.format.js? } The intention behind the above is to cache some results that are dependent on the params. my :generate_cache_path method just takes into account some params and session vars and creates a unique key for memcached. I can see in memcached -vv that this is working. What's weird is that I get my request from the rails app for a given key, and I see memcached (with -vv) get the request and send back the response. But then my action runs anyway, and a new value is then set for the same key, even when all the same params are given. I can watch it happen. In the controllers where everything is working, the request is made for the fragment, it gets it, and the action in the controller is halted, and the fragment is passed back. These lines come from the exact same request: Cached fragment hit: views/items/?page=1&rp=10&srtn=created_at&srto=DESC.js And then: Cached fragment miss: views/items/?page=1&rp=10&srtn=created_at&srto=DESC.js I don't know what to make of it, or if I'm doing something stupid. Any help or ideas where I could start looking for trouble would be greatly appreciated.

I want to check if the enemy has the class of either smallEnemy, medEnemy, or lrgEnemy and then do the collision check which is what I thought I had but it doesn't seem to work. Also, the game starts to lag the more and more time goes on. Would anyone know the reason for that?

  I'm trying to access a relationship (one to many) programatically. My Data model contains an NSManagedEntity called language (with a two string attributes) with a relationship to an entity called WordCategory (one-to-many). I use an NSFetchRequest to get all the Language entities. that works fine. I get the valueForKey for the relationship and that works fine. I can work with its objects. However, when I try to send the message count to the NSSet that stores the WordCategory objects I get a In other words, this line works: NSLog(@"word category count %@",[[wordCategory anyObject] valueForKey:@"name"]); This one doesn't: NSLog(@"word category count %@",[wordCategory count] I get a the message: EXC_BAD_ACCESS in the debugger.   I am trying to sort/narrow a queryset of objects based on the number of comments each object has as well as by the timeframe during which the comments were posted. Am using a queryset.extra() method (using django_comments which utilizes generic foreign keys). I got the idea for using queryset.extra() (and the code) from here. This is a follow-up question to my initial question yesterday (which shows I am making some progress). Current Code: What I have so far works in that it will sort by the number of comments; however, I want to extend the functionality and also be able to pass a time frame argument (eg, 7 days) and return an ordered list of the most commented posts in that time frame. (Because I did a lot of query about Question entity, by date, by tag, by category, by asker, etc. It is obviously not a good solution to add count operation in each query. My first attempt is to implement a @PostLoad listener, so every time Question entity is loaded, I do count. However, EntityManager cannot be injected in listener. So this way does not work. Any hint?

  I have a query in which one of the fields contains the count of status. The status can change several times a day and the count should be based on the final status of the day. For instance, this is what I have for Status1. The status for a day can change from 1 to 4 to 2 to 5 to 3 and then to finally to 1; if I write the query like this, the count will include 2 1's and then the 4,2,5 and 3 will also be counted in CountStatus4, CountStatus3, CountStatus"n". The return data is a monthly report grouped by day, where each day is a row. • OS X: fsck_hfs unable to fix volume directory count

  I'm running fsck_hfs on a very large volume. Unfortunately, there's an issue it appears to be unable to fix -- it reports it, loops back to start with Rechecking..., and reports it again, ad infinitum. ** Checking catalog hierarchy. Invalid volume directory count (It should be 513997 instead of 513998) Incorrect folder count in a directory (id = 27444570) (It should be 1 instead of 0) I've tried adding the -r ("rebuild catalog btree") flag to fsck, but the issue still recurs.

• CSS Rollovers: how to maintain "hit area" size when hidden image is larger than anchor area

  I have a small problem and I don't think what I want to do can be achieved with just pure CSS, but I figured I'd ask anyway. Basically, I have one DIV which contains a hyperlinked element that is smaller in size to it's parent DIV. So in effect I have a square within a square with the inner square being the "hit area". When I mouse over this inner square I want the background of the outer square to change. I know it's not possible to change the parent DIV's background on a:hover, but I figured I could give the illusion of it happening by nesting a hidden image inside the anchor. This works great until I want to "roll off". The problem is that I want the image to disappear when I leave the area of the anchor tag, not the larger hidden image. Is this possible?
