• Counting divs for pagination in Jquery

  I want to create a nice pagination in Jquery for a number of divs I have. EG: <div class="container"> <div id="one">content</div> <div id="two">content</div> <div id="three">content</div> <div id="four">content</div> </div> The number will not always be the same so I need to count the divs, and display a pagination like the one below. 1|2|3|4 Clicking on the page number would display the relevant div. I know how to show and hide elements using Jquery and css and have figured out I can count the divs using var numPages = $('.container').size(); but I can't work out how I can display the pagination. Any pointers?

• Jquery counting elements by class what is the best way to implement this?

  Ok what i'm trying to do is to count all of the elements in the current page with the same class and then i'm going to use it to be added onto a name for a input form. Basically i'm allowing users to click on an and then by doing so add another one for more of the same type of items. But i can't think of a way to count all of these simply with jquery/javascript. I was going to then name the item as something like name="whatever(total+1)", if anyone has a simple way to do this i'd be extremely grateful as javascript isn't exactly my native tongue and stack overflow usually has a ton of great answers and a great community so i'm hoping my query will not go unheard.

Would I be able to search the registryPath variable above and get a count of the number of keys containing the "Entry Point" keyword? Assuming that there are also other keys existing without this keyword.   hello. just out of curiosity I tried to do the following, which turned out to be not so obvious to me; Suppose I have nested loops with runtime bounds, for example: t = 0 // trip count for l in 0:N for k in 0:N for j in max(l,k):N for i in k:j+1 t += 1 t is loop trip count is there a general algorithm/way (better than N^4 obviously) to calculate loop trip count? I am working on the assumption that the iteration bounds depend only on constant or previous loop variables.

  Hi All, I have a text area field where i need to provide information about the word count when the user enters some text in the field. Length of the field is supposed to be 500 Characters. Initialy it must show min characters:100 | 0 of 500 // 0 of 500 must be in red color and once the user enters come character need to update the count as well. Once the user reaches the count say the min character 100, i need to display min characters:100 | 100 of 500 // 100 of 500 must be in green color.   Hi All I noticed that on the category list page, the number of reviews (pulled from frontend/base/default/template/review/helper/summary_short.phtml) lists the full amount of reviews for an item, not the amount available to the store view you’re on. So, for example (using the sample data) the Samsung MM-A900M Ace has 5 reviews - however, when you click that link and are taken to the reviews page, it actually just has 2 (as only 2 are available to the English view). But on the reviews page, the review count is correct and says 2 reviews (this time pulled from frontend/base/default/template/review/product/view/count.phtml). Is there any way to use this review count on the category list?

• MySQL GROUP BY with three tables

  I have the following tables: posts (post_id, content, etc) comments (comment_id, post_id, content, etc) posts_categories (post_category_id, post_id, category_id) and this query: SELECT `p`.*, COUNT(comments.comment_id) AS cmts, posts_categories.*,comments.* FROM `posts` AS `p` LEFT JOIN `posts_categories` ON `p`.post_id = `posts_categories`.post_id LEFT JOIN `comments` ON `p`.post_id = `comments`.post_id GROUP BY `p`.`post_id` There are three comments on post_id=1 and four in total. In posts_categories there are two rows, both assigned to post_id=1. I have four rows in posts. But if I query the statement above I get a result of 6 for COUNT(comments.comment_id) at post_id=1. How is this possible? I guess the mistake is somewhere in the GROUP BY clause but I can't figure out where. Any suggestions?

  Hi, I currently deployed an SSIS package (Developed on the 2005 version) (developed on my local server) in a pre production environment for testing. I have used the Row count transform to get a count of good/bad records. It works fine on my local system . However when i deploy this on the pre prod server, the row count does not work! (as in it does not recognize the vairbales i have assigned to the relevant transofm - no drop down abvaliable in the variables attribute part. tried deleting and adding a new transoform.. no luck. Strangely this does not work for any of the other packages also present/deployed on the same server (tried this out by dropping an rc tramsform onto an existing package... same problem) Any suggestions? The spreadsheets look similar to the following: DeptHead, Emp, Increment x, A, 2.5% x, B, y, C, 1.5% y, D, y, E, 2.0% I would like to make a pivot table that looks like the following; DeptHead, CountOfEmp, CountOfIncrement x, 2, 1 y, 3, 2 So it provides a count of total number of Emps and total number Increments for each DeptHead ignoring the blanks. I have tried to do this in many ways in Pivot table, but the two counts are only appearing in rows and not in columns as above. Is there any way to achieve this please? Thanks

Maybe this new description will help to solve the problem I'm facing. I have two entity classes, Customer and CustomerGroup. The relation between customer and customer groups is ManyToMany. The customer groups are annotated in the following way in the Customer class. @Entity public class Customer { ... @ManyToMany(mappedBy = "customers", fetch = FetchType.LAZY) public Set<CustomerGroup> getCustomerGroups() { ... } ... public String getUuid() { return uuid; } ... } The customer reference in the customer groups class is annotated in the following way @Entity public class CustomerGroup { ... @ManyToMany public Set<Customer> getCustomers() { ... } ... public String getUuid() { return uuid; } ... } Note that both the CustomerGroup and Customer classes also have an UUID field. The UUID is a unique string (uniqueness is not forced in the datamodel, as you can see, it is handled as any other normal string). What I'm trying to do, is to fetch all customers which do not belong to any customer group OR the customer group is a "valid group". The validity of a customer group is defined with a list of valid UUIDs. I've created the following criteria query Criteria criteria = getSession().createCriteria(Customer.class); criteria.setProjection(Projections.countDistinct("uuid")); criteria = criteria.createCriteria("customerGroups", "groups", Criteria.LEFT_JOIN); List<String> uuids = getValidUUIDs(); Criterion criterion = Restrictions.isNull("groups.uuid"); if (uuids != null && uuids.size() > 0) { criterion = Restrictions.or(criterion, Restrictions.in( "groups.uuid", uuids)); } criteria.add(criterion); When executing the query, it will result in the following SQL query select count(*) as y0_ from Customer this_ left outer join CustomerGroup_Customer customergr3_ on this_.id=customergr3_.customers_id left outer join CustomerGroup groups1_ on customergr3_.customerGroups_id=groups1_.id where groups1_.uuid is null or groups1_.uuid in ( ?, ? ) The query is exactly what I wanted, but with one exception. Since a Customer can belong to multiple CustomerGroups, left joining the CustomerGroup will result in duplicated Customer objects. Hence the count(*) will give a false value, as it only counts how many results there are. I need to get the amount of unique customers and this I expected to achieve by using the Projections.countDistinct("uuid"); -projection. For some reason, as you can see, the projection will still result in a count(*) query instead of the expected count(distinct uuid). Replacing the projection countDistinct with just count("uuid") will result in the exactly same query. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? === "Problem" solved. Reason: PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair). I had a branch in my code and didn't realize that the branch was executed. That branch used rowCount() instead of countDistinct().

• How do I make good guy attacks only hit bad guys and vice versa?

  My game has many different type of good guys and many different type of bad guys. They will all be firing projectiles at each other but I don't want any accidental collateral damage to occur for either alignment. So bad guys should not be able to hit/damage other bad guys and good guys should not be able to hit/damage other good guys. The way I'm thinking of solving this is by making it so that the Unit instance (this is javascript, btw), has an alignment property that can be either good or bad. And I'll only let collision happen if the class Attack boolean didAttackCollideWithTarget(target) return attack.source.alignment != target.alignment and collisionDetected(attack.source, target) This is pseudo-code, of course. But I'm asking this question because I get the sense that there might be a much more elegant way to design this besides adding yet another property to my Unit class.

• Are there any free hit counters that don't track users?

  Are there any free services that increment a simple hit counter without tracking the users of the site? I would like to know how many visitors there are to my site, excluding bots. I don't need detailed information like unique visitors or where the user is from (in fact, that's exactly what I don't want). I have been researching free hit counters, and it seems that most (all?) of them display advertisements and their terms of service indicate that they can use the data they collect from the client site however they want. Google Analytics also does this and tracks users across sites. The site is static HTML, so an external link or iframe of some sort is easiest for me to implement. I could switch to a Ruby or Node.js back-end, in which case lots of other options open up (like Ruby impressionist and more low-level implementations), but my hosting service is pretty limited. If the answer to my question is simply "no," what are my other options?
