  • Circle values that don't match any of the ones in a dropdown list

    - by Robert4242
I created a dropdown list with values and assigned them to one of the columns in a table. When I changed a few, then changed the name of items in the list and removed some I accidentally did some key combination somewhere around Ctrl+Z or Ctrl+Y and Excel highlighted cells in the table that had a value not on the list. The highlighting looks like a red oval around each such cell. How can I toggle it on and off?

  • Spoofing MAC address to match other device

    - by boj
At my school, there is a WiFi network where you can register up to one computer or phone. I, however, wish to connect my phone and my computer (Windows 7). I talked to an IT guy at my school and he told me that it registers the computer based on the MAC address (For the record, he's the one who suggested I spoof). So, I got my phone's MAC and now I want to change my computer's address to the same thing. I found this link and this video, so I know how to change it. I was wondering if that would run into problems because they are normally on the same network at home.

  • $PATH in Vim doesn't match Terminal

    - by donut
I'm using MacVim and when I don't launch it from the Terminal (mvim) its $PATH does not include what I have set in my .bash_profile. It only seems to have the default values, /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin. I'm running OS X 10.5.8. Even if I could set it manually in my .vimrc that would be okay, though I would prefer it to pull from the same place as Terminal. I've tried following what one site suggested, adding let $PATH += /blah/foo:/bar/etc to no avail. Edit/Solution: See my answer below. MacVim has an option to fix this.

  • PHP memory_limit local value does not match php.ini value

    - by Buttle Butkus
CentOS system. Summary: changed memory_limit in master and local php.ini and yet no change in the local value for a particular virtual host. Trying to improve performance, I set the memory_limit to 1024M in /etc/php.ini phpinfo() shows Master and Local values for other virtual hosts on the server as 1024M. Changing the value in /etc/php.ini changes all values, except one. One site is stuck with a local value of 256M. I thought I found the problem: there is a php.ini file (which I didn't know about) in that site's root, and it had memory_limit = 256M I changed it to 1024M. Problem solved? No. And now I don't know where to look. Obviously, I've restarted apache (/etc/init.d/httpd restart), and that usually does the trick. I also turned off APC cache, though I don't think it would cache ini files. And finally, I tried adding this to the virtual host in httpd.conf: php_value memory_limit 536870912 (yes, that would be 5 GB) And that had no effect whatsoever. What else could be the problem? Thanks.

  • summing up numbers when criteria match

    - by Hisham
I have a range of long dates from Sep 2014 till Dec 2018, and for each month I have an amount. I want to sum up the data of each year in one cell. Example: 2014 : sum of all amounts that are in 2014 2015 : sum of all amounts that are in year 2015 Sep2014 oct2014 Nov2014 Dec2014 Jan2015 Feb2015 ... 100 200 250 150 20 50 I know that 2014 = 100+200+250+150 = 700, but I need a formula to search for all cells that include that year and sum up the numbers.

  • Vlookup to retrieve an ID from table using text match

    - by Federico Giust
I've got an excel spreadsheet where I would normally use a VLOOKUP. In this case I need to find the ID of the record when comparing email addresses, so the email address is the unique id here. For example on sheet 1 A B C D Person Id | Family Name | First Name | Email #N/A | Doe | John | [email protected] On Sheet 2 A B C D Person Id | Family Name | First Name | Email 12345 | Doe | John | [email protected] Basically on sheet 1 I've got 800 records, on sheet 2 450. I know the 450 are in Sheet 1, so I need to find the ids of those, and put them on sheet 1 where I've got lots more data for each person. What I've tried so far is a VLOOKUP, but I keep getting an error. I'd like to do it with some sort of formula and not using any copy paste and remove duplicates. Any ideas?

  • UNIX "find" command, match literal "dot"

    - by Robottinosino
I need files ending with ".pdf" or ".png"; here's my attempt: find /Users/robottinosino/Desktop/_PublishMe_ -type f -regex '.*[pdf|png]' this incorrectly includes files ending with "Apdf", "Zpdf", etc. (missing literal dot before file extension) I tried adjusting the pattern to: find /Users/robottinosino/Desktop/_PublishMe_ -type f -regex '.*\.[pdf|png]' but then no results are returned. Escaping the . with a backslash does not work. Why? • Memory Usage on Linux box does not match up with `free`

    - by Chris Lieb
I have a Linux machine that is not running too much in the way of software, but is somehow using 1.7GB of the 2GB of the installed memory. When I run free, I get: total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 2072616 1979972 92644 0 164876 129740 -/+ buffers/cache: 1685356 387260 Swap: 498004 1632 496372 However, when I run ps aux, the memory usage of all processes only comes out to 295.9MB, which is a far cry from the 1.7GB of memory that free reports as used. Why is there such a discrepancy?

  • Deleting entire lines in a text file based on a partial string match with Windows PowerShell

    - by Charles
So I have several large text files I need to sort through, and remove all occurrences of lines which contain a given keyword. So basically, if I have these lines: This is not a test This is a test Maybe a test Definitely not a test And I run the script with 'not', I need to entirely delete lines 1 and 4. I've been trying with: PS C:\Users\Admin> (Get-Content "D:\Logs\co2.txt") | Foreach-Object {$_ -replace "3*Program*", ""} | Set-Content "D:\Logs\co2.txt" but it only replaces the 'Program' and not the entire line.

  • finding files that match a precise size: a multiple of 4096 bytes

    - by doub1ejack
I have several drupal sites running on my local machine with WAMP installed (apache 2.2.17, php 5.3.4, and mysql 5.1.53). Whenever I try to visit the administrative page, the php process seems to die. From apache_error.log: [Fri Nov 09 10:43:26 2012] [notice] Parent: child process exited with status 255 -- Restarting. [Fri Nov 09 10:43:26 2012] [notice] Apache/2.2.17 (Win32) PHP/5.3.4 configured -- resuming normal operations [Fri Nov 09 10:43:26 2012] [notice] Server built: Oct 24 2010 13:33:15 [Fri Nov 09 10:43:26 2012] [notice] Parent: Created child process 9924 [Fri Nov 09 10:43:26 2012] [notice] Child 9924: Child process is running [Fri Nov 09 10:43:26 2012] [notice] Child 9924: Acquired the start mutex. Some research has led me to a php bug report on the '4096 byte bug'. I would like to see if I have any files whose filesize is a multiple of 4096 bytes, but I don't know how to do that. I have gitBash installed and can use most of the typical linux tools through that (find, grep, etc), but I'm not familiar enough with linux to figure it out on my own. Little help?

  • windows weekday and day of month don't match - calendar fail

    - by steini
This computer came to my shop for just a simple Windows tuneup, so after doing all my tweaks, I noticed I was getting an error when trying to synchronize with the time server. It wasn't until I was about to give up that I noticed in the calendar that it's one weekday late. Here's a screenshot. As you can see, the day today, Friday - January 7th is a Thursday in the calendar. How is this possible?

  • How can I match an AWS account number to a key and secret

    - by iwein
My client gave me a key and a secret to manage his EC2 things, but to make one of my AMI's available to run I have to fill in the Account Number. Is it possible to deduce the account number from the key and the secret? Obviously I also asked the client for this information, but since it's weekend and I'm not fond of waiting I wanted to see if I could figure it out myself. Have you done this before?

  • Nginx redirect all request that does not match a file to a php file

Here is my current vhost conf: (which redirect fine but static files are send to php and fail) server { listen 80; ## listen for ipv4; this line is default and implied server_name domain.com; root /data/www; index index.php index.html; location / { try_files $uri $uri/ /index.html; } error_page 404 /404.html; # redirect server error pages to the static page /50x.html error_page 500 502 503 504 /50x.html; location = /50x.html { root /usr/share/nginx/www; } location ^~ /downloads { fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\.php)(/.+)$; fastcgi_index index.php; include fastcgi_params; try_files $uri @downloads; } location @downloads { rewrite ^ /downloads/index.php; } # pass the PHP scripts to FastCGI server # location ~ \.php$ { try_files $uri =404; fastcgi_split_path_info ^(.+\.php)(/.+)$; fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; fastcgi_index index.php; include fastcgi_params; } } Precision: static files are symlinks created by /downloads/index.php Thank you for your help.

  • Find command exclude files whose path match a certain pattern

    - by user40570
I have a find command that looks for files that was modified recently and outputs the date find /path/on/server -mtime -1 -name '*.js' -exec ls -l {} \; I would like it to exclude any deeply nested folder that matches a certain pattern e.g. there are a number of folders that have a "statistics" directory and ".svn" directories. So i'd like to be able to say if the file that was modified yesterday is in a folder named statistics ignore it. Or perhaps not search for files in those folders at all.

  • Variable for the suffix of $request_uri that didn't match the location block prefix

    - by hsivonen
Suppose I want to move an /images/ directory to an images host so that what was before http://example.org/images/foo.png becomes http://images.example.org/foo.png. If I do: location /images/ { return 301 http://images.example.org$request_uri; }, the result is a redirect to http://images.example.org/images/foo.png which isn't what I want. An older question has an answer that suggests using a regexp location, but that seems like an overkill. Is there really no way to refer to $request_uri with the location prefix chopped off without using regular expressions? Seems like an obvious feature to have.

  • Cocoa Touch UITableView Alphabetical '#' Match All Unmatched

    - by Kevin Sylvestre
I have a UITableView containing names that I would like to group (and sort) by the first letter (similar to the Address Book application). I am currently able to match any section ('A'-'Z') using: // Sections is an array of strings "{search}" and "A" to "Z" and "#". NSString *pattern = [self.sections objectAtIndex:section]; NSPredicate *predicate = nil; // Ignore search pattern. if ([pattern isEqualToString:@"{search}"]) return nil; // Non-Alpha and Non-Diacritic-Alpha (?). if ([pattern isEqualToString:@"#"]); // Default case (use case and diacritic insensitivity). if (!predicate) predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"name beginswith[cd] %@", pattern]; // Return filtered results. return [self.friends filteredArrayUsingPredicate:predicate]; However, matching for the '#' eludes me. I tried constructing a REGEX match using: [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"name matches '[^a-zA-Z].*'"]; But this fails for diacritic-alpha (duplicate rows appear). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

  • Filter entities that match all pairs

    - by Jon
    I have an entity (let's say Person) with a set of arbitrary attributes with a known subset of values. I need to search for all of these entities that match all my filter conditions. For example, my table structures look like this: Person: id | name 1 | John Doe 2 | Jane Roe 3 | John Smith Attribute: id | attr_name 1 | Sex 2 | Eye Color ValidValue: id | attr_id | value_name 1 | 1 | Male 2 | 1 | Female 3 | 2 | Blue 4 | 2 | Green 5 | 2 | Brown PersonAttributes id | person_id | attr_id | value_id 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 2 | 1 | 2 | 3 3 | 2 | 1 | 2 4 | 2 | 2 | 4 5 | 3 | 1 | 1 6 | 3 | 2 | 4 In JPA, I have entities built for all of these tables. What I'd like to do is perform a search for all entities matching a given set of attribute-value pairs. For instance, I'd like to be able to find all males (John Doe and John Smith), all people with green eyes (Jane Roe or John Smith), or all females with green eyes (Jane Roe). I see that I can already take advantage of the fact that I only really need to match on value_id, since that's already unique and tied to the attr_id. But where can I go from there?

  • .NET regex: Match.nextMatch() never returns

    - by Jimmy
I have a regex that seems to have worked fine for the past year or so, and all of a sudden today with a new slightly different text to match against, Match.nextMatch() never returns. I'm no regex expert and I'm sure the regex can be optimized, but previous data sets weren't much more complex than what I've tried today. Furthermore, the regex works fine against the offending data set in a tool like RegexBuddy; it's only in .net (running in debug in Visual Studio) that it seems to hang. Nevertheless, if anyone can figure out how to tweak the regex to make it work, I'd really appreciate it. This is the regex: <tr>(<td[^>]*><a[^>]*>(?<callOptionTicker>[A-Z]{1,5}\d{6}C\d{8})</a></td>)(<td[^>]*>.*?</td>){6}(<td[^>]*><b><a[^>]*>(?<strikePrice>\d*\.\d*)</a></b></td>)(<td[^>]*><a[^>]*>(?<putOptionTicker>[A-Z]{1,5}\d{6}P\d{8})</a></td>) It's meant to extract put and call option tickers from a Yahoo option chain page (i.e., raw HTML). It works fine for IBM http://finance.yahoo.com/q/os?s=IBM&m=2010-05-21 It doesn't work for SPX options (this is the offending data set) http://finance.yahoo.com/q/os?s=I:SPX.W&m=2010-05

  • Match entities fulfilling filter (strict superset of search)

    - by Jon
I have an entity (let's say Person) with a set of arbitrary attributes with a known subset of values. I need to search for all of these entities that match all my filter conditions. That is, given a set of Attributes A, I need to find all people that have a set of Attributes that are a superset of A. For example, my table structures look like this: Person: id | name 1 | John Doe 2 | Jane Roe 3 | John Smith Attribute: id | attr_name 1 | Sex 2 | Eye Color ValidValue: id | attr_id | value_name 1 | 1 | Male 2 | 1 | Female 3 | 2 | Blue 4 | 2 | Green 5 | 2 | Brown PersonAttributes id | person_id | attr_id | value_id 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 2 | 1 | 2 | 3 3 | 2 | 1 | 2 4 | 2 | 2 | 4 5 | 3 | 1 | 1 6 | 3 | 2 | 4 In JPA, I have entities built for all of these tables. I've been trying to do something like the following, given that the ValidValue is unique in all cases: select distinct p from Person p join p.personAttributes a where a.value IN (:values) Then I've tried putting my set of required values in as "values", but that gives me errors no matter how I try to structure that. I also have to get a little more complicated, as follows, but at this point I'd be happy with solving the first problem cleanly. However, if it's possible, the Attribute table actually has a field for default value: id | attr_name | default_value 1 | Sex | 1 2 | Eye Color | 5 If the value you're searching on happens to be the default value, I want it to return any people that have no explicit value set for that attribute, because in the application logic, that means they inherit the default value. Again, I'm more concerned about the primary question, but if someone who can help with that also has some idea of how to do this one, I'd be extremely grateful.

  • In a bidirectional JPA OneToMany/ManyToOne association, what is meant by "the inverse side of the as

    - by Bytecode Ninja
In these examples on TopLink JPA Annotation Reference: Example 1-59 @OneToMany - Customer Class With Generics @Entity public class Customer implements Serializable { ... @OneToMany(cascade=ALL, mappedBy="customer") public Set<Order> getOrders() { return orders; } ... } Example 1-60 @ManyToOne - Order Class With Generics @Entity public class Order implements Serializable { ... @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name="CUST_ID", nullable=false) public Customer getCustomer() { return customer; } ... } It seams to me that the Customer entity is the owner of the association. However, in the explanation for the mappedBy attribute in the same document, it is written that: if the relationship is bidirectional, then set the mappedBy element on the inverse (non-owning) side of the association to the name of the field or property that owns the relationship as Example 1-60 shows. However, if I am not wrong, looks like in the example the mappedBy is actually specified on the owning side of the association, rather than the non-owning side. So my question is basically: In a bidirectional (one-to-many/many-to-one) association, which of the entities is the owner? How can we designate the One side as the owner? How can we designate the Many side as the owner? What is meant by "the inverse side of the association"? How can we designate the One side as the inverse? How can we designate the Many side as the inverse? Thanks in advance.

  • PHP + MySQL - Match first letter of directory

    - by user1822825
Let's say I have a class table. In the class table, there are many students with their pictures. In the first registration, I've registered the class and students with pictures. The pictures were put into a directory like classid_classname. Then, I change the class name. Now, I'm adding the student's picture. Now, the new picture can't be recognized because the class name has changed. The pic url will be set as classid_class(new)name. How can I match the first letter of the directory? This is my update code : $classID= $_POST["classID"]; $className= $_POST["className"]; $p1 = $_FILES['p1']['name']; $p2 = $_FILES['p2']['name']; $p3 = $_FILES['p3']['name']; $direct = $_POST["className"]; $direct = strtolower($direct); $direct = str_replace(' ', '_', $direct); $tfish = $classID."_".$direct; //the directory variable will have new name because it can't be fetched if the directory has been changed many times// $file = "slider_imagesClass/".$tfish."/"; $url = "/".$tfish."/"; How can I make the variable to match the first letter of the directory because the classID will not change? Thank you. Really appreciate your help :D
